Bravo. As a taxpayer of mixed genealogy, I want the Government to manage our funds according to best business practice. We should hire on merit. Geez... it is OUR frigging money and many of us have had to tighten our belts. The Government should be living within its means also. This is the type of sustainability that is the most important to consider.

Rainbow tick is a grift.. If a company is discriminating, the employees and customers will know.. 🤔
Name and shame them if you could find any. Our media would love a story about a business discriminating against rainbow people. But no mafia style "protection money" racket. Not necessary here nor ethical. We should rather get a tick system for equality where nobody is discriminated against on bases of genealogy, race, sex, age, etc. All equal. All just people. No special treatment.
Another issue along same lines is basically for ordinary jobs in health Pakeha are actively excluded. I applied for a job as a medical courier driver for a Hospital I was interviewed by a department head and a Māori cultural Liasson person who questioned me about cultural knowledge but basically said in code why did you even bother applying. To apply for an orderly job with that same hospital before you can even apply you have to go to a webpage on Maori cultural information and fill in a form so basically apply to get an application for the job.
Your experience for job was bad, I cant believe how racist and Hitler type agendas this maori Elite has for New Zealand over the years. As Hitler did the same policy as research it, if you want to join Hitler army, organisation, they profile your ancestors to make sure you had no Jewish blood in your genetics, Has Willie Jackson and others been studying German War War 2 ?? I worked in the hospital for many years, and many other races out number the maori patients, mix races, and we all treated everyone with equal and fairness and medical needs. There was never any fix maori culture fantasy rubbish, just have Morales and manners for everyone :)

check out the Hamilton City Council's ' Pillars of Wellbeing' policy - which gives Maori precedence in employment and Maori organisations, ie, businesses, preference in the provision of services to the city..

My mate has been telling me about racist procurement practices in his Government Department for while now. Racism alive and well in New Zealand. No prizes for guessing who gets shafted in woke NZ as a result

New central government guidelines require new build offices special rooms for Maori, other racial minority’s, prayer rooms etc. this all adds up for significant extra unnecessary costs for the taxpayer.
I've seen this first hand contracting to government departments and working with councils, our company have our own Maori people on massive wages to consult with their Maori people on massive wages to make sure our construction activites are culturally acceptable. It like a soft job tax on us all to keep the bros happy. Take a look at Northland and the professional victims up there slowing everything down and costing the ratepayers mega.

Fact check, this report indication is possibly incorrect. The policy looks like 8% of contracts awarded must be at least 50% Maori owned. It does not apply to 'All contracts'. This is not WOKE. it is trying to provide indigenous access to stable government contracts.

I would love to see an end to everyone going on about 'woke'. It's boring and simply used to discredit others. It reminds me of a time when you could just call someone a communist to end reasonable debate. Convince people based on strong arguments rather than hysterically crying 'woke' all the time.
It’s easier for us to sum up the lunacy by using “woke” than wasting our breath on a person who is probably too far gone. I know in the beginning I tried having civil conversation, but the wokies I always ended up debating would instantly resort to name calling and burying their heads in the sand.
Imagine if the road rules made it mandatory for white vehicles to always give way to other vehicles on the road. Then add a further rule demanding male drivers give way to female drivers and everyone give way to transgender drivers, who are the only ones allowed to use their horns btw.

Been working in procurement and government procurement for near 40 years. The procurement rules changed under Labour where there needed to be considerations for Maori in business and also in the areas of broader outcomes in procurement. Biggest issue in a lot of these areas is you cant get any real clarity on what some of these things constitiute and their overall relevance to the actual tender, or how to adequatley evaluate them, as most are subjective. In the case of having sway to a maori owned or majority business again in many cases this is not relevant to the procurement, especially in the likes of IT. But you had to place an unrealistic and totally impractical level of priority on this. The main driver of this crap outside of our woke ex Goernment were the MBIE and DIA clowns who drive the centralised policies for procurement. If you want to fix the madness you need to start with sweeping the broom through those clowns.

That policy of Willie Jackson sounds much like the Black Economic Empowerment BEE policy implemented by the ANC government of South Africa. Except the percentage varies from 25 to 40, depending on the empowerment category, eg ownership, procurement etc. In the SA case, it was justified, but should probably have had a sunset clause after say two generations
