    the shop vac is a good option if you’re used a pressure washer or water hose to rinse the solution out. don’t use the extractor alone after agitating, the solution needs to be rinsed out

    I use the size 1 and 1/0 Mustad hooks to freeline for snook th-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 and they have been fantastic. The points are super sharp, and the hook is small enough to blend with my baitfish, yet large enough to land fish 30" or more. I also use these hooks when I'm pier or surf fishing with my kids. They tend to catch tons of smaller snapper, whiting, and catfish, and we get far fewer gut hooks with these Mustad in-lines, which means more of them survive after release. I was actually using these hooks when I caught my friend too, but I think that had more to do with the bait I was using ;-)

    Makes you wonder why wet/dry vac manufacturers don't get in on the extraction business action. Supe it up with all the carpet/upholstery tools. You wet the area with spray bottles yourself but the extraction tools, like that one, included with the vac would be amazing.

    Thank you so much!! Just FYI, I have the Stanley 6HP 8Gallon wet/dry shop vac (stainless steel canister on wheels ) (Bought it from walmart a few years ago, It was $80 when I bought it but I think they are like $60 now) I ordered the "Happy Tree" hand tool from amazon (I believe it's the same one you ordered because I saw this video and went straight to amazon) On my vacuum, I simply took off the end of the hose (where the attachments go.... it unscrews backwards *lefty tighty righty loosey*) and screwed the happy tree hand tool right on!!! Perfect fit! No duct tape needed!! So IF you are buying a shop vac to do this, definitely look for the one I have (But if you already have a shop vac, use duct tape if it doesnt fit! No need to buy another shop vac) I'm hoping to rig up a sprayer on the handle soon (There's a video by Detailing Kartel that shows how he rigged one up using a garden hose and you just put the hose on the outside tap and you have water!)

    Majority of your dark spotting is probably crushed carpet fiber. Just like a normal home carpet, the pile gets crushed and the fibers untwist from time and use. Since you don't have a water attachment on the shopvac set up, the best approach for you is to apply slight amounts of water as your extracting. You'll stop pulling crud out when the water in the carpet is gone, so the answer is to add more water until your satisfied with the clarity of the water. Also the majority of commercial cleaners actually attract dirt back into the carpet after its already dried out. Just gotta make sure you get it all out and groom the carpet fibers before you let it dry. Gives it a nice appearance afterward! Good luck!

    Oh boy:(. Resolve contains optical brightners that will cause color loss, ph shifts in the carpet, rapid resoiling, and irreversible damage to the fibers. Those Mats are generally a polyester fiber which can be easily power washed for better long term results, with less liability for you and your customers mats. For the black spots and oil soils which are none water soluble, use a solvent based cleaning agent, agitate, and then flush with your power washer:) Boom!

The things I don't like about the attachment is it's very big. Forget about getting into tight small places. Also, u need to hold it at a certain angle to maximize suction.
    I did the side by side with shopvac and Bissell, and yes, shopvac sucked liquid up that Bissell left behind. Kinda feel like a fool for wasting money on a weaker extractor, but Bissell was a good machine

    I recently bought the exact Happy tree tool and put it on my 5HP 4 gallon rigid wet dry vac with duct tape. So far ive only used it on my couch that has extremely tight and flat fibers (unlike a car carpet with fibers that stick up) and it dosnt suck the water into the machine but instead holds the water in the clear extractor head until I lift up on it which of course lets the suction (and water) pass through. I added some "height" to the lip of the extractor head by putting a few layers of duct tape on each end so that hopefully it wouldnt get clogged by the non breathable couch upholstery. ill post an update on it later.

    • @sgfreak96
      @sgfreak96  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the fibers are pretty tight, there may not be enough area for the extractor head to pull air/water through the fibers. Using a fibrous/porous material is what really allows these to work, since the vacuum is basically pulling air (and the water) in through the material we’re trying to clean. You can also try holding the extractor at a different angle

      Crazyhands Hands Not necessary, the shopvac with this attachment has more than plenty power to pull water out. The only drawback is there is no water line attached. I had to soak the carpets a good bit before vacuuming which is NOT ideal for interior seats. A pro extractor shoots a lot of water but it is immediately sucked up before it really settles into any upholstery. This shopvac setup will not do that as there’s no water line and you have to pre-soak what you are cleaning. Hope this helps.

    Hey bro, an excellent cleaning/upholstery shampoo solution is using a biological washing powder (laundry detergent with enzymes), dish soap and OxyClean - a scoop a piece of the 1st and 3rd one and a tablespoon of the 2nd one is a gallon of hot water (really hot) and put into a pressure sprayer (weed sprayer) and spray on upholstery. Then after extraction is completed successfully, spray an essential oil solution with ever clear, glycerin and essential oils and spray on all upholstery. The enzymes are what you need. Also allow the solution to do its work for 15-20 min… Also, where did you get that Prius dude?

    • @sgfreak96
      @sgfreak96  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice suggestion for the solution! I got the prius from a Copart auction for $875 back in 2019. I’ve put 20,000 miles on it as my daily driver since then and its been great

    Why not just pressure wash or even use a garden hose? I feel like there’s going to be a lot of soap left behind…

    • @sgfreak96
      @sgfreak96  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No soap left behind if rinsed/extracted properly. A lot of people suggested pressure washing but this tactic can be used for non removable carpet (underneath the mats) and seats in the car, where you can’t just pressure wash.

      LouCityStudios You can make your own. Remove the filter from a shop vac, attach a nozzle that’s suitable (thin one) soak carpet with solution. Then flood carpet. Suck up the water after agitating. Easy easy. You don’t need a $1200 extractor if you are only DIY on your own car. Facts

    • @nordicpride9708

      KingTazler25 For a POS one, yes they are cheap. For an extractor that works, no they are hovering around $1200.
      A cheap unit doesn’t hold a candle to the DIY approach using a powerful wet/dry vac. Period. Cheap extractors have weak vacuums, don’t heat the water to appropriate temp. You get what you pay for.

    Do you need to soak the carpet for the extractors to work?

    • @sgfreak96
      @sgfreak96  ปีที่แล้ว

      In theory yes. The way this works is as the liquid is vacuumed up it loosens and removes dirt that gets sucked up as well. A real extractor has a nozzle that shoots spray continuously so that flow of water is flooding the carpet, and it is immediately then vacuumed by the head of the vacuum attachment.

      I have a bissell unit.... dont waste your money on a bissell! They are great *but* brand new they are like $100?? (and I bought 2 used for $50 each! I wish I had seen this video sooner lol) You can buy the hand tool for $45 (amazon) and have more suction power from your shop vac than the bissell can do! (The main function of these is to extract as much water as possible! so go with this DIY version for sure!) I just hooked mine up today and was amazed! The suction was so strong I could lift up the mats with the suction.

    Brave lads, but way too make-shift and not as effective for your investment. The one-piece 10" stair tool has it all for $120. Just hook it up to a low-volume pressure washer (with a bypass - they all do I think) for another $100 and you're golden, with your vac, for $220+ tax. Use the pump to draw pre-mix from a bucket. Then perfect your technique. You won't look back. But do get your chemicals from a cleaning supply store and talk to the owner.
