    3:00 Just be careful when you drag the hose over the door opening and seats that you aren’t snagging the interior from those zip tie buckles. Maybe use the two-sided Velcro straps with the soft side out! Just a thought 💭

    Hey Luke thanks for another great video . This old man has learned a lot of detailing tricks from you. Just a suggestion, use side cutters to trim your wire ties all the way down to the base as they can be very sharp and will cut you or the interior your working on. I was a electrician by trade and used wire ties daily and speak from experience !

    Dude SO true. The power of suction is what is key to removing soil and moisture. For upholstery, you barely need much psi, that garden hose is more than enough. Heat is helpful, but isn't super necessary. The reason those extractors are so expensive is because it's such a proprietary product. You got everything you need for a fraction of the cost

    This is a great video, I did mobile detailing for many years, I had a mytee extractor, I did not have a generator, I used the electric from the customer... it was a hot water extractor with only 1 plug to power the pump, vacuum, and heating element.. the problem I ran into was if I tried to power all 3 at once I ended up blowing the circuit breaker... so I had to use 2 separate circuits... so I used the heat and pump from the mytee extractor and used the vacuum from a home depot ridged wet dry vacuum which was alot stronger then the mytee

    I did this about 5 months ago and it’s was worth it. I ordered mine from Rip clean and it does take about 2/3 weeks before you get it shipped to you and it’s free shipping. I am just using my Ridgid 4 gal 5.0 peak portable vacuum with the wet filter as an extractor I have the Ridgid 3 gal peak HP NXT to vacuum cars. It’s compact and really strong enough to vacuum the cars and you can put it in the car if you want. But I also bought the Ridgid car detailing hose kit. And I used velcro straps to attach my water line to my hose no rips or snags.

    Just started going through the class you have online, loving it! I’ve really been thinking about this as a solution, but I’ve also been toying with an idea to make it a full on hot water extractor. Because you don’t need like 4gpm or something crazy for this. You could conceivably connect it to one of the mobile camping shower hot water systems, and just run your cold water hose in and connect the blue one to the hot outlet for the shower head.. I’d love to see you try it, and truthfully once I get the funds to finally start my business I’m going to try it myself. But just thought I’d put that bug in everyone’s ear and see how it develops. Great video. I love this kit! It’s certainly not cheaper than the parts list to buy individually but having the time savings really seems to throw the kit over the top of me. Just an easy buy, and then plug and play

    • @davidvolland7250
      @davidvolland7250 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can certainly buy the parts individually and make your own kit and save money. However, all of the extractor that I have seen just have a copper hose coming out of the end and spray it as a stream of concentrated water in one small spot, the size of a dime. This particular brand sprays, the mist of pressurized water over the width of the suction device so it’s much better set up.

    As a Mobile detailer, I have been thinking about this setup and specifically trying to keep the water line nice and tidy because it has to go all the way back to my van and I’ve found a solution! If I just tip tie it to the power cord of the vacuum. They are both coming from the same general direction! 👍 thanks Luke for trying this out because I really value your opinion. Will the extractor head fit on the orange "pro accessory" hose in the Rigid kit? The one you have to buy separate from the vac. Amazon is over 30 bucks more than H.D. and I got the shop vac with 2 bags for free for $80. The accessory kit was $50, but I can't explain why they don't include the orange hose with the vac. I use mine almost every day (auto detailer), so the black one might last a month if that's all I had.

    • @ADHDKING
      @ADHDKING 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have that orange hose as well. Do you know if it connects ?

    • @floridaredneck
      @floridaredneck 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know, I was asking too. The black one that comes with the vac is different on the accessory end and has a bunch of I guess adapters, but I only use the orange one. However, you can attach the original black one to your exhaust port and it will muffle the sound of the vac to wherever you point it. I was thinking of cutting it and putting a foam insert in it, which is basically what the sound dampeners are that you pay more for.
      I don't know why they don't just sell the orange hose with the vac to begin with. I'm a mobile auto detailer and while I don't use the black one, it's so fragile I would have probably broken it by now. The orange one can stand being pulled and stepped on, but the back one probably wouldn't.
      Quick update. From looking again, it looks like he removed the accessory end from the hose, leaving it naked. Since that original black plastic head piece comes off of the orange hose by turning clockwise (not counter-clockwise), you remove that and then screw on the extractor head. At least that's what it looks like to me. It appears his gray hose is the same as our orange one.@@ADHDKING

    • @ADHDKING
      @ADHDKING 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@floridaredneck awesome. Thanks very much as I thought it looked the same as well. Worth a try but thanks for the extra details .
      Agree they should just come with the orange hose make no sense to why ridgid would risk setting their good vacuums reputation to gain a few bucks on a cheap accessory.

  • @Amor1990
    @Amor1990 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Spray extractor solution. Use drill and brush. Then use Bissell Spot Clean Pro to suck it up.
    How does this go head to head with the Mytee Lite 8070 when there is no heater?

    • @samij1204
      @samij1204 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The vacuum suction on the Rigid is much more powerful than the Spot Clean Pro. The Spot Clean Pro leaves a bit to be desired on the final suction, there's more water left behind making for longer drying times. Also the atomization of the water on the Bissel is not as fine as the Mytee/this extractor head(based on this video).

    I think if you have the Mytee , you could have just reused the Mytee head and water line. Just need to find the adaptor to connect the water line.

    I'm still confused by the description with all the links because I don't know which is necessary when you link items more than once so I don't even know what I necessarily need or don't

    I am a mobile detailer and I carry my own water I use a 8.0 honda gas power pressure washer I don't have a hose connection it won't work for me and second it uses water that has minerals so it won't dry clean it might leave behind water stain but other than that its a good idea but not for me I prefer my mytee extractor

    Sandia extractor kit is over $300. A lot more cost effective to purchase parts and do it yourself. Numerous videos with part list and instructions.

    Why not wrap the water hose around the suction hose to save having the coil

    • @adrianmack3

      Wrapping the water hose around the suction hose means you lose reach.

    This is inconvenient, no heated water, have to deal with finding a hose hook up. If you have your own tank and run out of water, you cant shampoo a car? Seems inconvenient, ill definitely be sticking with my new 8070, love it very much, stand alone unit, easy to manuever, not to mention the 210f° heated water i love it
