  • Quick and Dirty Fix for a Noisy Maytag Jet Clean Quite Pack Dishwasher. The Discharge Pump Housing had broken and part of it was rubbing on the impeller making a loud noise. Fixed by gluing it back together.
Be sure to see other great videos that show how to tear down this type of dishwasher.

Shout out to this youtube video in particular for having the exact best answer to this problem. We had this break about a week ago and I opened it up and found the exact same thing. It's been 5 years since this video, and in that time the part no longer exists on planet earth. So I *had* to glue it, but we are planning a full remodel soon and I don't want to replace the dishwasher quite yet. Perfection!

You are a life saver! I was about to replace ours and then found your video! Took it apart right away and found the same issue. My wife loves me again! Thanks so much.

This was FANTASTIC! I was able to follow along and disassemble my dishwasher and found the exact same problem!! I glued it - and now it’s humming along and working fine! An appliance repair tech was going to charge $85 just to come out, and said it was so old they don’t make parts for it anymore. We began to look for another one. Then I found this video. Thank you SO SO MUCH!!
Hubby came home and was pretty proud of me, lol!

@ 11:32 DO NOT PRY the impeller off it is bolted in place. Hold the impeller firmly while unscrewing the bolt. Prying it off will cause extreme damage. P.S. Thank you for this video

Great video. Mine is making that grinding sound and I'm sure it's the same thing. Thanks for making such a great video and calling out those torx screws and the fumblefinger issue. I'm a World Champion Fumblefingerler, so I'll be extra careful. Thanks again!

I have never seen a mineral buildup this bad. You have some hard ass water. It's building up on the element and will destroy it. There are products (CLR) that will help with this.Citric acid or vinegar also work. All dishwashers need to be treated at least every 6 months and more if your water is this hard. I didn't get to mine until it was 10 years old but I don't have hard water. All I found was a bread tie, small pieces of plastic wrap, a chicken bone, and a penny.

@@bethanievance7698 No, the piece that was broken on mine was the part he finds around the 9:15 mark of this video. The puck looking thing. I found some super-glue (Loc-tite i think) and some cotton to hold the glue and then stuck it back on where the 3 holes look to line up inside the washer. It is still holding to this day.

Have you ever measured the "hardness" of your water?

You will burn in hell for that comment. Who wants to wash dishes by hand?? The horror! Of doing dishes by hand is equivalent to getting gang raped by an entire prison population I would actually prefer that over doing dishes by hand.

Any reason to not just take the part that separated out? I removed it and the dishwasher seems to work fine without it

I have same problem but have no one to check it out, it works fine
I’m still using & don’t care the nose is only for 1/2 hour
Will I do more damage if I keep using it with the noise, like I said it works perfect

Glue doesn't work. Glued mine, came apart...glued again, came apart again...and a third time. Buy the new part.

Mine is still holding over a year later. Saved me the $58, but a new part is the best fix. Epoxy will set in 10 minutes, but still needs 12+ hours for a full cure to withstand the water and heat.

@@jimdandy6472 what kind of epoxy did you find works? I used 5 minute Epoxy and it did not survive the water exposure.
