This game deserves some kind of rework on consoles, putting it on mobile was a huge mistake, despite it being amazing by itself, imagine team battles with actual combat, being able to switch between a team of 3 characters Literally WuWa but NieR Reincarnation
You have no idea how thankful i am to you for making this video. I never got far into reincarnation due to its nature as a mobile gacha, but as a massive nier fan, i very mucb appreciate the story, so experiencing a short audio summary version of it is good too. Thank you.
To me the biggest twist after 10H was the Last Hidden Archive Because it actually talks about the Reincarnation of Mankind and that ACCORD knew everything (because of course she does lol)
Because OF COURSE she does haha. Yeah, for me it was the hidden archives where 10H basically learns to create beings on her own but that she must remain in that weird subspace for them to exist. Wish they expanded more on this concept and what-not...but it's NieR hahaha.
@@TheSamUtari Yeah, for me it was really weird when at the end of Act 1 I realized we were in the Moon Base, like so far Yoko always avoided direct links between his works

Thanks you Thank you so much for creating the NieR: Reincarnation summary video! It was incredibly helpful and well put together. Your effort in breaking down the story and connecting the dots really made it easier to understand the game’s plot and its place in the NieR universe. I appreciate all the hard work you put into it!
This is a great, concise summary! Very well done! I love that you included the chapter trailers at the start of each one. The music still gives me chills. I didn't get a chance to play the alternate Sun/Moon route before EOS. I know it's out of scope for this video, but could you maybe point me to info on the location you mentioned that changes between Hina's & Yuzuki's routes?
Thank you! Yes, the music still makes me super emotional. I felt like the trailers were absolutely needed so I am glad you like it! So, one route had Kaine's hut in the field of flowers, the other location was similar but I had thought that it was a different version of Emil's place. Now I feel as if I might be mistaken. I also didnt get to do route B due to trying to finish every EX and RoD story but I thought from early screens/trailers there was one different location depending on the route. I will need to look into it more.
@@TheSamUtari Ahhh ok, thanks! If it helps, when I played, I got to Kaine's hut with Yuzuki and there were several of his family's personal items laying on the ground. That section of the game hit like a ton of bricks. 🥲

I don't think this game would ever be redone as a console style game, thought I do hope they rebox it as like... I dunno, a fancy visual novel? Or maybe something akin to 13 Sentinels. One can hope at least.
You know its even more depressing when you know that the red girl, the very entity that caused every single suffering in Automata through the logic virus also had a tragic story, she fought and fought with no end, lonely and broken, feeling the pain of every single machine, thus she was consumed by something that is as lonely as her.
@@TheSamUtariI'd say that ending E of Automata ended on a positive note. Especially since we have info on the aftermath and well, it's looking positive enough.
All these loops of humanity and even in the one where kaine breaks free and does something unique, the one thing that has clearly never changed is nier killing shadowlord and therefore essentially ending any chance of humanity reviving before project gestalt can even attempt to do so.
The story is really amazing- and I agree with you in that no one should be forced to watch a YT video to get the story because they shut the app down. But, it was a real game...just unfortunately, a live-service one that ultimately failed.

I am going through Nier Automata recently....depressed how good it is and how it seems not concluded but apparently is? Also sad I can't se this game and hope they recon it kinda into being a branch into a real fleshed out deeper sequel to the direct Replicant- Automata characters/story.
So I guess 2B, 9S and A2 are long dead huh? Or is this a different time branch from ending E of Automata? Or is it whichever we want (cause of Yoko Taro's methods of leaving it to each person's interpretation)
Due to the fact that Reincarnation seems to be an alternate version of route C in Automata (given that we face the logic virus as 10H and 2B herself who has succumbed to this), I would say that Reincarnation is its own timeline outside of Route E and that in this version of events, all the main character androids are indeed dead. That's just my theory anyways given what was provided to us via the story and specifically the final chapters.
@TheSamUtari I'm ok with it being a continuation of ending C. I simply want ending E to remain intact cause I'd be hella depressed if the ending I fought so hard for was for nothing in the next game.

The Automata anime has already made hints to Reincarnation if you know where to look ;) But also The Cage is a database where human Memories are stored, yes. It contains all of human history. But it is a lot more complex and we still don't know exactly how it works. Likewise, it's where we get the weapon stories.
@@TheSamUtari I haven't started season 2 yet. I'm gonna wait until its finished. But in season 1 whenever 9S hacked a boss, we its interpretation of the mind. Like the "I am beautiful" boss for example. Buts a machine. I thought of this as what little humanity the bosses are trying to have. But simular to androids having made up back stories, its possible that the machines are taking human data from the cage actually being whatever person they got. Rather than thinking "thats what humans do". Like getting ambushed in the desert by cowboys or in pascals villages with the sisters for example. Those were actual cowboys back in that time amd they are actually sisters whoever they might be.

Thank you for this video I really wanted to know about this games story but 1. It has ended its service 2. I did not have time to play it nor the will at the time
It might have been interesting but given how Reincarnation works, as it was, it would not have worked on console. They would have had to literally rebuild it for a console audience.
Thank you very much for this video! It's a real shame that they decided to make it a gatcha mobile game because it looks like a very interesting sequel to automata. I still hope that one day they find a way to make it a console game somehow so I can experience the story.
It wasnt a bad gacha game really. Even if it wasnt eberyone's cup of tea, it luckily was not hard to play. I dont think they will ever make Rein a console game it would change the whole "feel" of the game- but JP is releasing a book for it so maybe that will eventually come to the States. If they did make another NieR game it might reference Rein but yeah...I don't see them stripping the whole game down and redoing it just bc people didnt like the mobile aspect. It's not really Yoko's style haha.
@@TheSamUtari For me gatcha games of any sort are never enjoyable that’s why I never got into the game. And you are right Yoko Taro will probably never recreate the game. However, I would definitely like if we get any sort of other media like a novel, anime, movie, etc…
Thank you so much for this - I had to upgrade my phone when I was almost done Act I (a whiiiile back), and it made me start over again - so the game just sat on my phone for the longest time in spite lol. I finally picked it back up again shortly before the end of service announcement🥲🥲 What are your thoughts on this helping connect the story to Thou Shalt Not Die (if you have any!)? I am trying to find where I found what I had seen before... but I believe there were some theories TSND kids were like the beginning of the Hamelin Organization and the "Crusaders" part of the museum seeming to follow similar paths? While it's not confirmed I feel like it HAS to be connected to DrakeNier somehow and Reincarnation seems to be the one starting to connect everything!
You're quite welcome! Just in general, I do believe that Reincarnation was the attempts to bridge the gaps. It told us once more about the branching paths and this time alluding to pieces of the more "successful" paths being picked out via the owner of the library (which we know is Accord) to give humans/androids/ etc a better chance at succeeding in the next branch of things. As far as the anime goes, I feel less that Reincarnation was an attempt to link to the anime more that I feel the anime was Yoko Taro really solidifying Reincarnation as canon since some people wanna blow it off due to it being a mobile game. I have thoughts when it comes to Rein and the anime...but I think there would be too much to go over. NieR is very complicated. But 100% Reincarnation was the start where all the pieces were finally making a more coherent picture.

It might have been interesting but given how Reincarnation works, as it was, it would not have worked on console. They would have had to literally rebuild it for a console audience.
@@TheSamUtari Only the Switch and maybe Steam Deck would be able to work with the touch screen like with what they did with TWEWY remastered.
I finally picked it back up again shortly before the end of service announcement🥲🥲
What are your thoughts on this helping connect the story to Thou Shalt Not Die (if you have any!)?
