  • Program 3021 ................... - Social Contract - Church History - Manuscript Evidence
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

Most other Christian sects were deemed heretical, lost their legal status, and had their properties confiscated by the Roman state. It's actually pretty funny, because in most comics, Spidey is a Christian. He's shown to pray and say grace multiple times to God in the comics and even in the movies.
His most famous line "With great power, comes great responsibility" also reflects on God with having to make hard choices and allowing free will to exist.
Obviously, this doesn't support not deny the Bible, but it's just an interesting point to make.

For something to become history, it takes a second, meaning whatever you did a second ago is history. That means, I cannot trust nor believe on any history that has be writing by human. Then, you are telling me to believe or read something by a man that I know for a fact hasn’t been able to physically go to the places where the Bible was written and prove everything is wrong. Tell me: Which history was written by a man I should trust?
Now, why did I decide to believe in the word of God? The Gospel talks about things that no other man could think about and speak about it. Human is so predictable that I know for a fact: No human could believe and then say: Love Your Enemies. That never came through my mind until I read it from Jesus' Gospel. If you think those are common words, then you are an arrogant individual that doesn't want to accept that comments like that came out from somebody out of this world. Only one man said those words, Jesus. That's only one of the thousands of things he said through the Gospel. His teachings are transforming people. No other book calls God: Heavenly Father; if you think those words are ordinary, I am sorry, but they are not. Who was the first man to call God Father? Jesus when he calls God, Abba. 0:00 "There's a rational god who created you and me with a rational mind"
He simply asserts it here with nothing to demonstrate it's validity. It boils down to, i simply say so.
Regardless of anyone else's ability to show otherwise, it has no bearing on whether his proposition, that a god exists, can be demonstrated to be so.
    1:24 "Who defines better?"
An apologists trap by asking a question they already have a script for. But let's proceed.
We do. More accurately society at large. As we move forward with the people around us we interact and sometimes we come across problems
in a one on one situation, hopefully we can sort things out. If not we move on to legal resolutions. And ultimatley if this is a new issue laws will be put in place for future rulings. All metrics show we are now better off (in most countries) than at any other time in history.
The Nazi and black examples are typical of apologists when they want to show an extreme example of people not agreeing. Yes, sometimes thing get bad before we get better and we go to war because of it. Welcome to the last 10,000 years of civilization. Duh!
1:50 Spider-Man saying he is catholic did not bode well for him, as the Nazis and the holy catholic church were, bed partners so to speak, and they have a lot to answer for as background participants/helpers in WW2. As for Apartheid another christian backed embargo on the rights of white and black Africans that again show religion being involved in causing dissention and exclusion.
So far this speaker is shooting him self in the foot by mentioning these examples.
2:45 "Human beings have been created by god for a purpose...and that value comes from god."
Again pure assertion. He assumes a god and runs with whatever script his brand of apologetics wants you to hear.
I'm less than 3 minutes in and so far it boils down to this.
I am assuming a god. We can't be accidents. god has a plan for us.
I cant watch any more it's apologetics 101.
This guy is a good speaker and knows his brand well, so to the casual observer he may be making sense to anyone who has a vague leaning in a god belief.
But once you stop the think about what he is saying you can see right through him.
I'm no expert, but even i can see what he is doing, asserting a god into reality.
Nothing to see here ...move along...move along.

The Name of the father, Son, Holy Spirit is "Jesus"...
Notice it says Baptize in the Name - Not Names, not plural.
    Acts 4:
    12. There's No other name under Heaven by which we must be saved...”Jesus”
    Col 2:
    9. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the “Godhead” bodily.
    .
We’re being Baptized into the Death & Resurrection of Jesus, the Holy Spirit didn’t die on the Cross, the Father in the Body of Jesus did.
The Father & I are One, not two or three..
    .
    Ephs 4:
[5] One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism,
[6] One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and “IN” you all.
    .
The Disciples never Baptized in Trinity, they baptized in the Name of Jesus, because there aren’t 3 God’s.
Jesus is God w/ us = Immanuel
    .
    Isaiah 45:
[5] I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6] That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is “None Beside Me”. I am the LORD, and there is None Else.

This is why the Word Trinity isn’t in the Bible, we’re not suppose to make up words or change scripture to suit ourselves..

Not how I was taught either the ‘Three-Fifths Compromise’ or the Dred Scott case.
The Three-Fifths Compromise was not about human worth, but about census data calculation for purposes of taxation and congressional representation, and it did not specify race, but only free persons and all other persons (though it included an added clarification regarding ‘Indians not taxed’, of which the latter portion is the the operative part).
The three-fifths compromise stated that when counting population as in a census, non-free persons would each count as three-fifths of a person - meaning that the population statistics would be {# of free persons + (# of non-free persons * 0.6)}. This population statistic was used (as I said before) for determining the number of representatives a state would get, and so how much power that state would have in the congress. Because of this, the lower that fraction was, the better it would be for slaves or anyone else that wanted slavery to be abolished.
The northern states wanted to abolish slavery, and the southern states that held slaves wanted to continue allowing slavery. The higher the population statistics a slave state could claim, the more power it had in congress to push for what they wanted, so if they didn’t have to reduce their ‘non-free persons’ count by 40%, and could instead just count 100% of that segment of the population (count each slave as a ‘whole person’), the population statistic would be higher and so the slave state would have more power to influence legislation - meaning they could use that power to better preserve, protect, or expand slavery.
    th-cam.com/video/giBRnKRWR6M/w-d-xo.html.
    www.theusconstitution.org/news/understanding-the-three-fifths-compromise/
As I was taught it, the Dred Scott case was a technical argument regarding legal questions of inter-state comity and jurisdiction. A southern slave owner took his slave to a free state for a while before returning to the south, and the argument was about whether passing through and/or residing in that free state dissolved the legal ownership of the slave. A somewhat similar case had previously been decided in favor of the slave, but was not conclusive as precedent because in that previous case the slave (who was freed as a result of their case) was still residing in the free state at the time of the case, whereas Dred Scott had returned to a slave state and waited until his current ‘owner’ died before suing for his freedom - which also complicated the technical nature of the case.

That said; Cliffe’s point still stands that if morality is a social construct then it is relative, subjective, and arbitrary - more of a pragmatic convention than any sort of absolute, authoritative prescriptive code of… well… morality. I was going to include a clarification of this point in my post, but it seemed too condescending when I read it, so I removed it. Here is a part of that original explanation: “I am not arguing for slavery or ‘belittling the abuses of slavery’ or anything of the sort. It is not an argument in favor of murder to point out that a particular person did not do any murdering, nor is it belittling the tragedy of murder to point out that a particular death was not a murder. Facing a terrible subject with clear thinking and rationality is not an endorsement of it merely because we do not lash out with frantic tears of rage and sorrow at anything resembling or tangentially connected to it”.

Are the Gospels historical documentation? Almost definitely not. At least mostly not. For starters, 3 of the 4 (Mathew, Mark, and Luke) are significantly identical to one another, with numerous examples of word-for-word verses. If you order them chronologically by the dates they were written (Mark, Mathew, Luke), Mark reads as the least fantastical with relatively minor miracles performed by Jesus. Mathew is significantly more fantastical, and Luke even moreso. This indicates that these three gospels are really just one gospel that has been copied at least twice, with each later copy being exaggerated over time. This is a perfect example of why most of the Bible shouldn't be trusted, as the verbal traditions used to develop the stories within the Bible were almost definitely exaggerated over time in a similar fashion.
Besides that, with the exception of these four gospels (mostly likely only two gospels) and the few non-plagiarized Epistles of Paul - which contradicts the Gospels on several occasions, there are no other historical sources that corroborate the contents within them. Jesus is almost completely absent from history until at least a century after his death.

I've come to the conclusion that, it's not that you don't understand, why you should believe in Jesus that condemns you to hell, it's the nature of sin your born with, and then, choose to live for.
If you doubt it, just ask any parent if they EVER had to teach their child to do bad things OR, did they spend their entire parenting life, trying to teach their child to do good and be good.
The original sin nature everyone is born with has 2 stages,
    1. The unaccountable age
    2. The accountable age
Because a Holy God can not allow evil to be unaccountable, He must execute judgment on evil.
For the wages of sin is death.
The life of a physical body provides the evidence of this biblical claim, because of the sin of Adam and Eve, we now are born into a temporarily physical but corrupted state of being.
This state of being is at enmity with God. Remember that He, His character and His nature is Holy, pure and void of all unrighteousness.
To try to put it in context,
Your eyes would literally burst into flames along with the rest of your body, if you were to even look straight at Him.
Hence, why He came to Moses, in the form of a burning bush.
    But!
Because He loves his creation so much, He made it possible for us to be reconciled unto Himself, through the only acceptable atonement for our nature of sin.
This was only possible by The One, who was Conceived in Holiness, Lived in Holiness and Ultimately died and Rose from the grave in Holiness.
This is what Jesus represents to God the Father.
That is why He is spoken of as being, The Lamb of God, The perfect and only acceptable sacrifice, The last atonement, The spotless lamb of God, who comes to take away the sins of the world, ect....
By one's own humble acceptance of Jesus's death on the cross for our sins debt,
We are now counted as "acceptable", "made righteous", "made clean", "blind and given sight", "lost and is found", "dead and now alive again", " born again", "born of corruptible seed and now made of incorruptible seed", ect...
But the choice to reject this offer of a lifetime because of arrogance, will come with an eternal consequence.
Separation from God, or otherwise known as Hell. Where the flames always burn hot, thirst is never quenched, the worm of decay never dies, utter darkness, eternal torture, ect...
    The choice is yours.
Just don't try and say God is unfair or unjust.
Everyone who reaches the age of accountability shall be required to stand in judgment before God.
On That day the only difference between those that believe in Jesus and those who chose not to, will be whether you will have Jesus as the atonement for your sin. Or will you be found without.
For it is appointed, for man to die once , and then the Judgment.

We can use science to a certain extent but because of who God is, a spiritual being, being all knowing all powerful eternal self existing, omnipresent there is so so much that we can't understand. There is so much about God's greatness His existence that is by so far way beyond what science can prove or understand. Heaven and hell certainly cannot be proven by any scientist but when we trust in Jesus and know that He is completely reliable, we can grow in our faith and trust what He tells us is the truth. But what science does tell us for sure is the incredible complexity of life. How much detail , with all the cells, molecules, all the scientific names for the different particles, building blocks that make up the life of humans, animals, plants flowers and trees. But what science does also show us is that there is incredible order and design in life , and creation. All the different animals, insects, birds, and understanding their purpose and what part they play on this earth. Bees, they ofcourse have their purpose of what they do to make honey. I believe all life has a purpose on this earth. The so many different varieties of animals there are and all unique in design. Would this or would this not point to such an intelligent mind that designed everything. And if we take humans, every single one of us unique, with a slightly different thumb print. We may not see ourselves as unique or important because of how the world is with things like greed, how people treat one another how people are put down, bullied, laughed at, etc, we live In a world where so often people are made to feel worthless, unimportant, unloved, incared for, belittled, spoken about by others- slandering, judging and making assumptions about someone based on their appearance, height, race, colour. A world we live in where ao often our actions can have devastating consequences one others lives because of our wrong choices, sometimes or often destroying the lives of others. The greed of others or often those with alot of money, I'm not saying always but just like the bible says, the love of money is the root to all evil. People want more and more. And especially its so clear we are heading towards a time when we will live by a cashless society. Digital currency. Digital reset, where money will become far less value. So it would make sense that people who are greedy with money and selfish, would be trying to become more rich , for the future. But, as a result, others suffer, hence the starving, poor and homeless. I think so often we don't know who to trust any more.
But those who follow Jesus, we know we can rely and trust in Him for absolutely everything in our lives, most importantly our salvation. God has seen absolutely everything on this earth, past present and future, way way before He created the universe and everything in time, in space. So it would be most wise to turn to Jesus, trust and believe in Him. Repent and confess our sins to God. There might be things we don't want others to know about, but in prayer, it would make sense to confess the truth to God, because He cannot be fooled, He will certainly know if we are being honest or not, He's already seen everything we've ever done, and knows all our thoughts, but because of His incredible love and grace, by sending His only son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sins, after repenting and confessing our sins, He will forgive, because Jesus paid the price, Jesus did what we could never do, on that cross, taking the whole worlds sins upon Himself.
John 14: 6 And Jesus said to them, I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me.
Jesus conquered sin, conquered death, so we could have eternal life. The love Jesus has for us all is truly beyond incredible.

Gospels are reliable? Are you joking? No one knows exactly when the gospels were written, Also Cliffe doesn't address all the inconsistencies and contradictions in the 4 gospels. what happened to Lazarus after Jesus raised him? Seems like that would be a noteworthy piece of news of that day that people would be talking about or asking Lazarus what was death like. What happened to all the dead that rose from the graves when Jesus died. Where did they go? Do they have to die again or do they live forever. What about all the silly magic tricks Jesus is said to have performed - healing the sick, curing blind folks, feeding 5000 with a couple of fish and a loaf of bread. Please, use some logic. We don't need a book to give us morality and tell humans what is right or wrong. Religions were created to control people and calm human fear of death and what comes after.

I am so tired of this argument “ who’s to say the Nazis were wrong?” it’s so dumb - the fact is the Nazis had their morality and we thought it wasn’t a good morality, so we went to war and we won. That’s what happens people on earth have to live with each other, one group may have a differing morality, think that it is better than the other and eventually go to war over it if it gets bad enough, otherwise we come up with more peaceful ways of living, such as laws, legislation, social mores/norms. Hell I bet if I went to Cliff‘s house he have some rules our house home doesn’t hold or care about. He might get really offended if I don’t takeoff my shoes when I walk into his house or think it’s OK to shame people or be passive aggressive to get his way. "I have no scientific evidence that love is real" bullshit. The guy who affirmed that it's chemical reactions in our brain was correct, Cliffe was wrong when he proposed it as "well if it's chemical reactions then that would mean I 'have' to love you but that's not my experience, I could love you, I could hate you"- completely wrong. If the chemical reactions in your brain are following a certain course, your experience will not contradict that course, a brain that loves a thing will look differently than a brain that hates that thing. There is no free will, we are witnesses to the events that happen in our brains after the fact, not before or during. An eye that sees light can't 'decide' that it doesn't, it's no different with the brain.
And he's further wrong in saying he's using the word love as Jesus did, that love isn't an emotion but rather a pledge to ensure the well being of others, including enemies. Here's the problem with that, anger IS an emotion. And Jesus gave the impossible order of not even being angry with one's neighbor, because that equates to murder in the heart. Cliffe is all kinds of mixed up in this.

We would basically be robots without free will. All the answers we look for are now written in us. Ask yourself the right questions and the answers will present themselves. Sometimes it takes a long time. You might have to learn simpler truths before the big one can be revealed. Patients, accountability, self awareness are a must!

Muhammed Ali when returned from Africa said, "Thank God my grandaddy got on that boat." The morality of only doing good because it will benefit you, and you don't want a society where people do harm to others, is a selfish motivation and at the whim of whatever zeitgeist is currently in place. It is easy to look back at history and say how actions taken in that time was evil. But we don't control how history will pan out. We can't say how evil acts committed now may result in great goodness and flourishing in later generations or how apparent kindness now may lead to a sense of entitlement, apathy, and sloth in later generations. That is why we need to be born again, so regardless of the future results, we will know our actions have been motivated in faithful service to the LORD and to others for the furtherance of HIS kingdom and HIS family and not our own.

No, some are unsuccessful. Some are unable to produce the horsepower. Some are unable to stay running. While others seem to achieve effortless stoiciometry.
When we love, I believe it takes something from the creator for it is in Him that we live and breathe and have our being. Loving has multiple types. Our creator has displayed the ultimate love.
It's how we can finish the race, keep the faith, and receive His free gift to us.

The majority of these people don’t realize that they have their moral conscience because of God’s influence over generations and it’s impact on culture but they are convinced it’s entirely a result of who they are (apart from God, in their eyes). Self-glorifying

A real one asks did God create existence. Our minds, eyes, ears, tongues, Words. Or did it just come out of nothingness.

I am not convinced objective morality exists. There are only objective ways to meet a subjective goal. For the Christian, the subjective goal is the teachings of the Christian God, for the Muslim it is the teachings of Allah and for the Hindu it is the belief in Dharma. Given there is currently no direct access to the supernatural or proof the supernatural even exists, these religions rely on their holy books to guide them and so humans must subjectively interpret these holy books. Divine command theory offers the illusion of certainty with the comfort of simplicity and has no explanatory power. Secular humanists can have several tenets at their core including human well being, human flourishing, the avoidance of pain, health is preferable to sickness and life is generally preferable to death. In all of these systems there is occasional conflict and, as I pointed out earlier, many Christians have different opinions with respect to abortion, capital punishment, euthanasia, war, wealth and poverty, divorce, racism, homosexuality, corporal punishment, suicide, etc. When conflict occurs, Christians sit down together and discuss the best way to resolve them using the bible as a guide knowing that the bible is subject to interpretation. Because we are all human, conflicts can’t always be resolved and occasionally there is the splintering of churches, the loss of friends, etc. Similarly, secular humanists use empathy, logic and a rational consideration of the consequences of their actions to guide them. When conflict occurs, secular humanists sit down and discuss the best solution but again, conflict can’t always be resolved. Some fear mongering Christians believe that, without this non-demonstrable “objective morality”, we will all run around raping and murdering each other. Ridiculous. The things we see happening in the world today are not the result of secular humanism - these people have no moral code at all and have essentially opted out of morality entirely. There is some overlap in all of these moral systems and that is what Christians conflate with objective morality. For example, we all believe rape and murder is immoral. The one thing we all have in common, however, is that we are all human and we share space - it is this that we should rally around. To spend time convincing non-believers in the supernatural existence of the Christian god but to discount all other alleged supernatural experiences and beliefs is wasteful.

Nothing he said equates to the existence of gods. Everything you heard you equated to your need of a god. Break this stuff down without preconceptions.
EDIT. I aint coming back here, don`t reply, treat it as a personal exercise

Evolution has directed the human species as a whole to be empathetic towards one-another, or at least to be empathetic towards members of our own tribes. This is because we are a social species that has evolved to rely on each other for our survival. If we were not empathetic, we could not coexist and our species would fail to exist as it does today.
When I assess my values on why I think other people should be treated kindly, it's because I know that I want to be treated kindly. I know that I want the people I care for to be treated kindly. The best way to ensure that happens, is to establish a social contract where everyone agrees to treat everyone kindly. It's not because a god has commanded me to act kindly.

12:31 that kids friends worry too much It is pointless to worry about tomorrow let alone the future. Because Nobody has tomorrow promise.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:34

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
