As good at this as Cliff is, I think he would be even better if he used the OT prophecies of Jesus and included that as evidence in these contexts. There are over 300 of them and some of them are just spectacularly specific and detailed and really hard to dismiss.

Why follow a 2000 year old book? Suppose it were written this morning, by a team of the wisest people on earth, and contained no teaching dependent on a particular time, culture or technology for its truth. It spoke for itself as superlative wisdom and revealed divine truth. Would you follow it? How about tomorrow? Next week? Next year? How many years would it take before timeless truth and wisdom were no longer timely? Timeless truth is, by definition, timeless.

The bible is a book of claims, not a book of truth, from god created to god died and rose again is all unevidenced BS, there has never been and never will be one that can prove or disprove that such claimed entities of gods exist, gods by all known evidence are the creations of men, that's ALL GOD's. That a human being any human being , call him jesus, or what you will no human being after being killed can return to life, creation , resurrection as stated in the bible, made up of many stories, most written by no one knows whom, and that includes the supposed gospel testemants, are claims without any sourced, verified, corroborated by any known to have existed persons by that same criteria, of factual historical evidence of anything but man made fairy stories, a book cannot prove itself when without known authors, and the bible has none that ever actually evidenced any god and that includes the supposed Jesus. The only ones that believe such BS are the indoctrinated from birth and groomed throughout their formative years, the ultra gullible, the absolute desperate that cannot cope with the realities of actual life, Christians are no different from one addicted to smoking, drugs, alcohol, they are in the capture of the mind benders,

I really enjoyed the genuine demeanor, intellectual honesty and consistency of the first guy. The goal of apologetics is not to convert you on the spot using fancy words, it's to get you to give a genuine look by appealing to your mind, God does the rest. All you have to do is give it a genuine look, God Himself will show you. But He actively hides the truth from those who are not genuine, which is why they live all their lives questioning but never getting answers and end up being frustrated hyper skeptics. 'The gospel is foolishness to those who are perishing.'
The second guy however, seemed to be in atheist kindergatten. Where the narrativeis everyone who is religious is just an idiot who can't think for themselves. Where they have never really met an apologist .
The last guy, was a treat for the mind. We had very similar objections before i came to Christ.

The old testament is written before Christ in the Israeli bronze and iron age. Many by the hand of Moses who lived about 1200 years BC.

Job is argued to possibly be the oldest biblical cannon but much of the exact timing is up for debate. Some think maybe it was written by Abraham.

Knowing how the people of that era lived and viewed the world can truly help with the imagery they are trying to portrait through words in The Bible.
This is important for much of the OT because its the life they lived, and much of the idioms are tough to compare to how the words are used in a modern sense.

The other equally important task to determine whether Jesus really lived, died, was resurrected, and was in fact the living embodiment of God Himself is to ask Jesus Himself if he can show you the Truth of these matters and direct you by way of the Holy Spirit, this wonderful counsellor He told us he would leave with us to minister to us in all the ways of God and His intent for us. It is by giving our lives to Jesus, accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour, and asking the Holy Spirit to minister to us that we get the understanding we need which 'surpasses all understanding' by which we used to 'know' in the secular way. The darkness can't understand the light. This isn't a put down to people who don't know God, but it means that the understanding of the Truth (Jesus) can't be known by the darkness (those who don't know Him, and refuse to seek). Ask, and it will be given. Knock, and He will answer you. You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free).

Thankfully, the Holy Spirit helps us evil people behave relatively properly, As far as a sinner/christian can (Simul iustus et peccator). Also, I still think God is even greater than a 4-dimensional being. If you can find videos explaining what a 4-dimensional being can do in our 3-D reality, you'll get a glimpse on how God can do anything. All Powerful 🙏

Using Bible verses to convince others that God/Jesus is real is just as useful as using characters names from their own books to claim they're real, like Harry Potter, or better yet Pinocchio, cuz he said he's a real boy in his book. Your heart is in a good place, but that is not a valid reason to others, let alone people who believe the Bible is just made up and miss translated throughout the years and thus unreliable, to them. So no, reading verses to them does absolutely nothing. Which is why you got to give them some sort of historical proof outside of the Bible

So when the Bible uses the "boring parts" naming kings, and their sons, and government heads, ect and talking about how there's scriptures preserved and everything else and prove it. Cuz everything they believe is from out side of the Bible. The whole "it doesn't mean gay in the Bible its a miss translation and means child, shall not lay with child" and they believe the it has been miss translated to suit the "Christian liking" so having historical proof, cuz they're never talked about, using the Bible will do absolutely nothing to those individuals if used first.

Gregory, with all due respect, you are incorrect. If you study the Bible you will see that Jesus fulfilled numerous prophecies, prophecies that were written hundreds of years before He was born (especially noteworthy is Isaiah chapter 53, allegedly written some 700 years before Christ's birth).
On top of that, the Bible tells of historical facts and people that can be traced back through archeology (look up "Mount Sinai" and "The Split Rock" to see how events in the Old Testament still carry evidence today, most prominent work was by Ron Wyatt) and through historical accounts (e.g. Josephus and Tacitus among others).
And finally, you cannot deny the radical transformation that happens in people's lives when they meet Christ through the Holy Spirit. Miracles still happen today, but you gotta look for them. The most miraculous thing that happens is that the Gospel has the power to transform a human heart, in a way that he receives a heart of flesh, a heart of love and humility, where before that he had a heart of stone, self-centered and carnal. If you're brave enough, you can look up deliverance videos where evil spirits are cast out of people (you can say they're acting, but having gone through deliverance myself I can attest to it being 100% real). I recommend Isaiah Saldivar's content, for example this video: th-cam.com/video/6lotJUtTFoI/w-d-xo.html
If you want to encounter the living God, you first need to humble yourself and say "I don't know, but I want to know" and seek Him with your whole heart. He promised to reveal Himself to those that seek Him (Jeremiah 29:13: You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
      ) God bless.

2:03 did this guy legit just use that as an argument for why he couldn't believe the reliablilty of the gospels? video cameras? for real?
there are so many videos of people claiming supernatural miracles and no one bats an eye towards that, because almost everyone thinks they were altered. now, I'm not saying those videos have any truth in them, but I'm saying if people say that about modern claims of miracles, why the heck wouldn't they say that about Jesus?
it's never about which generation had the best method of recording events, when it comes to biblical concepts and stories...it is only by the power of the spirit that anyone could open their mind to the possibilites of any of that happening.

      Lol..sorry, loose talking is cheap.
Just what verifiable empirical evidence/proof can you provide of this "spirit" existing or ever being something "real" ?!
Whenever you actually present evidence/proof/facts for it outside personal religious convictions, prejudices, confirmation a/o subjective bias, only then any rational people would accept it.

I have to disagree on following religion is foolish. James (if I remember correctly) says that Christianity is pure and undefiled religion. Yes people create a false Christianity, but true Christianity is pure religion.

Read that passage again. “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
      ‭‭James‬ ‭1:26-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬
He isn’t talking about “religion” he is talking about TRUE RELIGION.

Cliffes cases for God is really great for the every day Christians. However for a new Christian. What defined Jesus and why he was so compelling to the gentiles. Was because of his compassion and how he would serve others. We cannot argue people into faith. The only way is through Jesus and he is the only one that saves.
Cliffes debates are great for getting people to atleast consider there is a God.

That second student believes he is “good” and is angry that his “good deeds” are not going to get him into Heaven. He thinks more highly of himself than he ought to. Oh, may God humble him in hope that he might repent and receive forgiveness for his sins against God and have eternal Salvation.

The student at about 15:37 mins makes some great points, and it's the title of the video "Why follow a book that is 2000 years old"? I'm pretty sure that Cliffe's answers wouldn't convince a non believer, as the student says, most scientists wouldn't come to the conclusion. We have much more solid answers to questions which people living thousands of years ago were wrong about. It turns out we're not the centre of the Universe... far from it. We are a tiny speck in the big scheme of things. Always enjoy seeing a new video from Cliffe, even if this one is from the archives.. The God debate will be around for many many years. It's good to see more atheists involved in these conversations nowadays .. it's good to doubt what we've been told is true for hundreds of years.

I remember watching a video of some tribal people being showed how big the universe is and they were in such awe, and one of them glorified God and another one pointed out how such a small thing such as the human brain was able to discover such vast things. We are small and wondrously designed all at the same time 💎

@@michaelk7348 Yes, the human mind struggles to comprehend the vastness of the universe, there is little doubt about that, when we look into the night sky, our eyes are only capable of seeing a few thousand stars.. the more we've learned about how big the cosmos is it's very hard for us to get our heads around it. There is a very famous picture called "deep field" it was taken by the Hubble space telescope a few decades ago when astronomers pointed the telescope at a tiny patch of seemingly nothing in space.. there didn't appear to be anything there, many astronomers thought it would be a waste of time using Hubble's resources to look at nothing. When the images came back, it was stunning to see thousands upon thousands of far-off galaxies, and each one of these galaxies contained hundreds of millions of stars. We're slowly learning more about our place in the universe. In real terms, we're probably scrambling on the lower slopes of a huge mountain, we are nowhere near the summit. We know much more than people living in Biblical times, but, by the same token, people living in the future will know much more than us.
You say our planet is small and wondrously designed Michael, if you were around a few billion years ago on this planet it was a completely different place that would have been totally hostile to human life. It's taken billions of years of evolution to get to this point.. and even now, much of the planet is hostile to human life. Maybe we're looking at the same planet completely differently. I see no evidence of design as such. We share this planet with millions of other life forms, many of which are deadly to mankind as we are deadly to them.
It's good that we can agree this planet is an amazing place though. 😍

That is why it is 100 times better to research personally, seriously and with an open heart the reality of your existence and to find the origin of your existence on this earth. To rely on the theories of today's researchers is like trying to put a bottomless bucket in the fountain in the hope that you will get water out of it. So are today's researchers. I can't say absolutely ALL RESEARCHERS ARE THE SAME. BUT 99.99% SOA SUNT. A bottomless bucket.
