- Program 0422 ................... - If God Is Loving... - Bad Thing Happen - Creation History ..............
Recorded at Texas State University - October 2021.
The "Give Me An Answer" ministry began as an outgrowth of the dialogues Cliffe Knechtle has had with students on various university campuses throughout the United States. These universities include the University of Maine, Harvard, MIT, University of Florida, University of Texas, University of Wisconsin, University of Minnesota, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, Berkeley, Stanford, University of Hawaii and the University of Washington. Cliffe spoke on these campuses in front of the Student Union or Library at noon for five to ten minutes. At the close of his initial remarks, he'd open up the time for questions and answers, which usually turned into a two to four hour dialogue with students. His crowd size ranged from 25 - 500 students at a time, and between classes, new students would join the discussion. This is an extremely effective way to reach a large number of university students with the Gospel of Christ.

In regards to the first question, if God created us in heaven to begin with, we wouldn't be able to experience evil or be tempted by sin, so it would be a sort of "limited free will". It would be kind of like a king sheltering a princess in the castle her whole life, giving her all the spoils and riches and not letting her step out into the rest of the world and experience it (including potential suffering). On the other hand, when we have full free will on Earth and still fully choose to obey and be with God, ultimately joining Him in heaven, then He will know that we truly love Him and want to spend eternity with Him. He can't force us into heaven with Him against our will. It's not how true love works! Just thinking out loud here, any thoughts/feedback will be appreciated! God bless :)
Agreed. I also think we as humans had the chance for heaven on earth, because when God created all He said it was good. We messed it up but He loved us enough to give us a way to still end up in heaven with Him.
That WOULD make sense accept for one logical inconsistency, according to your belief, God created the angels including Lucifer in Heaven and he didn't seem bothered about limiting their free will, and, in fact, Lucifer and a third of them must have STILL had a free enough free will in order for them to rebel against God, so I can't quite see how that really explains it but I appreciate the effort.
I'm having a hard time figuring out which inadequacy is more prevalent in John Cashin.
Is it his inability to read the bible properly or his inability to connect the logical dots?
I think it's just too close to call.
It reminds me of rapunzel in her tower. Her mother protected her from everything BUT she still wanted to step outside regardless if she could experience the weight of the world that her mother warned her of
@@indiasarai534 fantastic analogy!
I don’t think I’ll ever meet Cliffe in this finite world but I can’t wait to meet him in heaven
That’s how I feel about another great apologist named Frank Turek, who I was very blessed to meet. Got a great story about that, too, if anyone wants to hear it. God Bless!
But would you? There will be ?? Billions of people there.
@@Bmwguy2011 It’s infinitely eternal. That’s much bigger than billions. Occam’s Razor is beyond sufficient reason to explore truth, too… to say the least.
@@JeanmarieRod you lost me. But from what I’ve heard, we will be working up there and with many perhaps millions or billions of people -depending on how narrow the path is-these assumptions Christians have that they will sit in Jesus’ midst snd have endless one on one communication with Him eternally to indulge all of their questions and intellectual curiosities gives me pause. (The tree falling who hears it if no one is there stuff//rock too heavy to lift) Maybe there won’t be endless leisure time there.
@@Bmwguy2011 Where did you hear this? Bc I don’t think the Bible tells us much other than it’s incomprehensible.
I want to answer the woman who asks "For all the bad stuff that goes on, why can't God get rid of it" with a quote I once heard. I don't know if Cliffe will answer this way, cuz i paused it. However, I love this quote. The quote basically goes, "If you ask why God won't get rid of all the evil of the world, I will ask you what if he started with you?" I love that quote because We have all taken part in some form of evil at one point or another. If he takes away the evil, that includes you. He has promised to come remove the evil from the world one day, but that is the end of the world....
I love that quote..hits right to the core and challenges the person asking the question to look within and look up an see a God merciful and just God 🙌🏽
I think it was Dr. Frank who said that.
Well... God used bad things for the good, such as Job, Saul, Jospeh, Fanny Crosby, Joni and also he uses the bad to remind us, we can't do it along and sometimes those bad things are what he foretold us years and years ago in the Bible. God bless :)
Dr. Frank Turek used that quote and man when I first heard it it blew me away cause it's a answer that confronts your own evil not just a rear window view of it that we all often impose
I love this. I remember this response to this question. I hope I remember this quote, except I would say God would probably start with me, then them!
Faith without works is dead but I have found that as i increase my faith my works increase naturally as my relationship builds the works are usually proof that your faith is growing.
My faith was strong and steadfast until God asked me to do something so different, I had no idea was even part of ministry. Then He had to regather me and put me back on track or I would have been destroyed. Remember Ruth layed on the floor with Boaz. Ruth 3:4 The Virgina Mary's assignment was wild too, Luke 1:36-38
with all due respect: John 3:16 and 14:6 is very clear about Haven otherwise it is sad for others God may have mercy on them
Place of Torment
Luke 16:23, in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, describes Hell as a “place of torment.” The rich man in the story is in agony and begs for even a drop of water to cool his tongue. This parable provides one of the most detailed descriptions of the experience of Hell in the Bible. It emphasizes the physical and emotional suffering associated with Hell.
That's not going to get you in heaven I hope you know that no hate just truth
Man I could listen to him for hours. His personality, his realistic approach to questions of people younger and older, his sense of humor is very funny, his humility and relatable attitude are incredible, his enthusiasm towards what is going on in the world today. No matter what he is talking about or how dark it could be, I feel this Aura coming off of him that his point has a bigger meaning and it’s exactly what God calls us to do. God bless this man and I am so glad I am in a time period where I could hear and Lord willing meet this guy one day. This man is one of the many examples of God’s greatness and I pray that more people learn from this and be led to God. Thank you Sir, Amen
If I spent my whole life rejecting God, why would He, when I die, force me to be with Him? You can see His Love even in His righteous judgment! Thanks so much, Cliffe for another great video!
Well, it brings up another point, and this is coming from a fellow Christian. Sure, God does not force you to be with Him. However, what is the alternative? Burning in hell for eternity. Do you consider that righteous judgment? If everyone was aware that choosing not to be with God would lead to eternal damnation, they would obviously choose to be with Him instead. Of course, this entire point is dependent on what hell is in the first place. Is hell simply living "apart from God", or is that reality accompanied with eternal suffering and pain?
@@williampowell2104 1. sorry, but do you know what it meant to be " Christian " ? u type so much contradiction after that self proclaim " Christian "
all i can see is Doubting, Lack of knowledge about God , about His character , even about the place called " hell ". Which all the information is there in the bible.
2. . Doubting God judgement meaning u have OBJECTIVELY Better Judgement to make (?), are you smarter/wiser/perfect in integrity/honesty/ lets make it faster ,
are you morally perfect? / " SINLESS " ? no ? ok lets move on from moral ground to knowledge.
2.1 How smart are you ? Do you even know the capability of this being called "GOD " is ?
if you study human anatomy / ANY very complex subject , u will see how genius the creator is.
2.2 By What value do i need to really consider your doubting? All i can see is selfish behaviour, even your last statement really jaw dropping tbh.
3. Do you even know the inherent value behind this tittle that the whole humanity called " GOD " ?
4. REQUOTE " Of course, this entire point is dependent on what hell is in the first place. Is hell simply living "apart from God", or is that reality accompanied with eternal suffering and pain? "
are you really planning to slap GOD personally by what you just type above ? like really? who the hell are you sir? like , what????
Separated from GOD means Separated from all his Blessings. Do you understand why in hell described as a place with Complete darkness? ( GOD IS LIGHT)
Agonizing place? ( GOD IS THE SOURCE OF GRACE&LOVE )
A place for the tormented ( HELL , Supposed to be for Satan and his follower , yes if you are separated from Him then you are doing Satans will.)
You don't even have the correct idea what it means to be separated. Don't be lazy ,read the book !!.
Hosea 4: 6a My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
@@williampowell2104 Think to yourself how bad would the world be if 99% of Good (Includes feelings & pleasures) and Good people were not in it that only leaves the Bad = Hell.
Right now earth is a mix of Good & Bad Heaven & Hell, God is Good he is the source and standard of good the desire to be separate from God is to be separate from Good which only leaves bad and people might want to do bad but most do not want bad done to them, most want good they just want it on their terms (wanting to be/create their own God).
Hell is Bad Quarantined most if they could would annihilate bad or wipe it out completely which is not caring (and removes free will), God allows Bad to exist but does not allow it to run rampant forever so that the only ones it hurts in eternity are those who choose it.
Earth here & now is our time to choose do we want to be with Good (Heaven) or be with Bad (Hell) with God or without God? Most want good and if they seek honestly they will find it in Christ Jesus who is The Way The Truth & The Life.
Most know about hell they just think it is a story that they don't need to take seriously which is their choice to make, they have more than enough information to take it seriously and even if they didn't this is where Pascal's Wager comes into play if you employ that and you're wrong you lose nothing and if you're right you gain Heaven, that is just being prudent.
Eternal consequences Good or Bad Heaven or Hell means our choices have actual power and actually matter now and for eternity and it shows that God respects those choices and doesn't just annihilate or destroy us because we didn't choose what he desired for us to choose, God wanted everyone to be with him but some will choose not to be so there will be a place where they can go where God and his presence is at its least but his presence includes Good and with little Good you have Hell.
Now ask yourself should God respect their choices and free will and allow Hell a place "without" God to exist for people who don't want to be with God = Just
OR
Should God ignore their choices essentially removing their free will and force them into heaven to do what he wants = Unjust
God is Just and Eternal (outside of time), so God being Just means there must be consequences and God being Eternal means they're everlasting. Sin is a crime we commit against God and when you do anything to a Eternal being it becomes eternal to simplify let's say my crime against God is I slapped him that means a part of God for all eternity is being slapped by me every moment is the moment that slap happens so my crime happens every second of every day so my punishment must also be of every second of everyday and we have all sinned so we are all guilty of a crime against God this is why Jesus is our blessed hope he who lived a sinless life and took the sins of the world and suffered our punishment that we might be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
It seems counter intuitive but when you really break it down allowing Hell is more caring than bringing everyone into heaven, hope this helps - all praise and glory be to God Amen.

The most loving thing God can do is ensure that our security is tied to His perfection through choosing Him over what is not perfect; namely Himself.
The real tragedy in life is not that God refuses to reveal himself to humanity, but that, God indeed has revealed himself to humanity but people still chose to go their own way.

@@ChrisTheKing172
Do your own research... You may be surprised what you could learn.
@Chris Brown .. try Wikipedia entry for "historical jesus".:- "...Virtually all scholars of antiquity accept that Jesus was a historical figure, and attempts to deny his historicity have been consistently rejected by the scholarly consensus as a fringe theory."
Re. God incarnate, the main reason He was nearly stoned by a crowd was He pretty much said He was God, John 8:58: "Before Abraham was, I am".
@Chris Brown I assume Julius Caeser (there being 12 caesers). His military career spanned over 40yrs and political career over 30yrs. He was emporer for life of the largest empire of the age impacting in his time 100s of 1000s or maybe millions of people. Point is, there would be a ton of mentions for him everywhere.
Contrast Christ. Active for about 3 years as a carpenter in a backwater colony. No political power and an impact in his time on maybe 10s of 1000s. How many writings apart from church communiques might there be in comparison. I assume much much less and so much harder to find anything existing. I presume you have seen josephus and tertullian mentions. Have you examined early 1st century church history or read writings of the early church fathers? Or even Luke/Acts... it is interesting to read how the Christian church came about. Note Paul's writings have been dated to 20-30yrs after Christ's death.
@Chris Brown ".. if this man was so important as advertised"... my point is that His importance was not recognised during His life (even the apostles prior to pentacost doubted Him); it was a gradual build, and those He mainly operated among were generally not the educated class so would generally be unable to write and record..let alone create statues of Him. And those who could write (Jewish religious-political class) had an interest to suppress what they saw as a heretical cult challenge to their authority. Hence, it is understandable to me why recorded writings scarce and late. Perhaps given time, another Dead Sea scroll type of discovery might be made, which could provide additional independent evidence to support what is recorded in the New Testament.

He completely avoids the question of predestination
You can behave just any way you want to, not since you were born, you were told how to behave in a store, riding in a car, how to behave in a waiting room and standing in lines, etc.
@Madcow7777 if i may attempt to provide an answer it would be this: Predestination is the belief that god himself chooses when we are created where we will end up in eternity, if you find christ in this life it's in no way you're choosing, and if you never find christ or turn away from him it's again not you're choosing. which completely contradicts the core of Christianity, which is the real loving relationship we should all strive to have with god
@@rorke2106 but doesn't God know where we will end up in the end? By this existing free will cannot exist? God says that he alone knows the plans that he has for us. What if one of those plans consists of one of us going to hell? Because he's God that has to come to fruition, so why would he let that happen?
@@gregoryshortale Not true at all. Just because he knows the decisions you will make with your life doesn’t mean you don’t have the free will to make them. On top of that, God has a plan for you, but only if you give your life to him will that plan come to fruition. If you ignore god, then yes, you may very well end up in hell. But that’s never his plan. He knows whether you will come to him or not.
Many people don't have the discipline of dialogue! Cliffe does a terrific job with these guys - he has so much patience.
Going to Heaven would mean spending an eternity in Gods presence. If someone spends their whole life rejecting God, it seems pretty obvious they wouldn't want to go to Heaven, since that would mean being with the God they rejected. And God is to loving to force people into his presence. He gave us a free will to choose for ourselves.
That's how I see it anyway.
Is not certain that people will go forever to heaven , is posible that after some time are send back to earth to a new kind of world.

Why would you change your mind about God though? Either you love him or you hate him. He's going to be exactly how he is in the Bible, so if you hate how he is in the Bible, chances are you aren't changing your mind when you meet him.
What you can do is pray and ask God to help you understand the things you don't understand about him. But again, that's your choice.
Heaven Will Be Filled with Peace, Joy, and Praise - Revelation 7:15-17
“Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Revelation 7:15-17).
Most people view heaven and hell as a place....it's not. It's not about the place. It's about God. If you want to be with God, you will go to heaven. If you don't want to be with Him, the default is hell. If a person dislikes God, even being in heaven will be hell for that person.

I can answer the guys question about being already in heaven and having free will. The answer is that once you meet god everything will make sense and you will feel complete.also, since all of the people in heaven that got saved because they decided to believe in god; all of the pain they went through(true loyalty) isn’t so they can get to heaven and say,”oh this is boring, ima going to go live whatever life I think is a better way to live”.they’re in heaven for a reason, they went through hell and back and decided that god was the best way and it was all thanks to his mercy that they even realized this. to get to god you need a lvl of maturity and understanding that only comes through pain and(acceptance).the key here being acceptance and giving in(to god)not giving up.
Not sure that checks out. Just because Adam and Eve walked with God and still chose sin. Satan and his angels rebelled against God as well. I think it's kinda like he said, the people who go to heaven have actively chosen/responded to the call to be with God. Heaven and their eternity with God is what we are looking forward too.
It seems like the people who reject God have no issue with the place of heaven. They have an issue with God ruling over them. By that I mean, they don't argue against heaven, just God and why they should have to follow him.
Those types of people would probably make the same rebellious choice regardless of being born in heaven or not, maybe even knowing God as well.
Last thing, I also think of how we as humans take our parents and what they tell us for granted. Good parents should always rule over their children, simply because they know better. That being said, children, take their parents and their advice for granted and love to test boundaries and it's usually not until we're older and on our own that we really start to see the wisdom of our parents. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of humanity was that way towards God as well if he had been created in heaven.
Why not put us in Heaven first? And THEN let us decide if we want to follow God? That was tried…with angelic beings, including Satan, and their rebellion leaves no room for repentance. I’d rather be able to repent and find that God’s justice was fulfilled on the cross for my sin.
Do you believe this god you've mentioned is a reality?
The angels who rebelled have no room for repentance because God loves us so much and these angels have brought suffering to the world God gave us.
Satan was given time to prove he can rule us as he claimed he could do better than God. He is in charge of this world right now since Adam and Eve.
God wants to select people for his Kingdom who he can trust that wouldn't rebel an eternity. Of course, the selection will be pretty tough. That's why he is challenging us.
Thank you Cliffe. I receive Jesus and pray every day in repentance and seek to know the way of Jesus on a daily basis. From the moment I wake to the time I put my head on my pillow at night.

This is why free will is crucial. However, only what is good and perfect can be in the presence of God. So, immidiately in the garden we screwed that up though. So what is the MOST LOVING thing God can do? Well, that's easy. Just allowing us to be in heaven with him as sinners? Nope, it goes against his nature. Instead, He knew from the moment he created us that we would not be able to have free will and be perfect at the same time. So he planned on coming to earth as a human, living with us, showing up how to be perfect, and then dying for us as a human so that we may have forgiveness. That is the most loving thing he can do. People now adays love to say "If God is so loving why does he send people to hell" But God doesn't just SEND people to hell. People CHOOSE Hell. As it says in Jeremiah "I place before you 2 choices, life and death. Choose life" People can spend their life choosing God and then spend eternity with God. Or they can spend their life rebelling against God and being separate from him, and they will spend eternity separate of him. You see, he also loves us so much that he won't force us to be in his presence. He doesn't force us to do so while we are alive on earth, and he definitely won't do so in the afterlife. OK, back to the video to hear what Cliffe says haha
I remember my teacher telling something similar, God didn't create us to be robots...
You answered this perfectly
Clearly you haven't read the Old Testament. God's ordering people to sin left and right.
@@storba3860 obviously you haven’t read it either because anything God commands is not a sin. A sin is human disobedience to God so how about you add context to what your saying instead of spewing nonsense
It only looks like we choose God because we live and exist in time. If we could exist outside of time, then we would understand what folks mean when they say God chose us. Because at that point, we would be observing the whole picture as God does from an " outside of time" standpoint.
Free will is a lie that soothe the mind. Our will is not free because our will has limitations. God has the power to make us His children through what Jesus did on the cross and further free our will, mind and emotions from its limitations. All power is only in God.
God Bless you brother on doing these messages to our youth. Our current youth is going into a slippery slope world by accepting their own religion and moral compass versus having a relationship with God. If you are deep within the Holy Spirit, you can see Satan work through these individuals to not challenge the messenger, but to win over the crowd listening. No one knows the Bible more than Satan himself. What motivates God, is being glorified. In all and through His creation it is to bring honor to God. He created man to choose to love Him. The contrast is the angelic host that feel choose to go. Where we who were born in sin can choose to love God, even though it is against our nature. Where He (God) gets the glory for convensing a totally wretched creature to desire and love the light, Him. This is the greatist miracle. The glory, honor and praise are all Gods. We only agree to His judgement.
Well said!
To answer the second question, I believe we won't turn away from God because He gives us a new body without sin so we would not want to turn away from God. I mean we would have to be other fools to be able to see God and be in His presence but not want to be with Him, that thought will never even come into our minds

I love that people can ask Cliffe such excellent questions. We actually have a song about that, "I lived in heaven a long time ago..." This is what the children sing in the church I belong to!
Believe in Jesus Christ
life experiences teach us to be stronger & to grow wiser & to deal with life's many problems & freewill teaches us to learn how to trust others & follow our instincts , if we choose to follow JESUS & take up our cross, HE never said it would be easy & the road is wide & the gate is narrow & few find it.....
Consequences? First time I’ve seen a weak answer from him.
The answer to question 2 is the impetus of question 1.
God didn’t create us in Heaven because it would undermine our free will. Our inability to deny God’s existence in such a place would mean that our choice was never really a choice. If everyone could see God before them, how many would turn away? Far fewer, I imagine. Who, in the overwhelming and all-encompassing presence of the divine and almighty creator of the universe would dare to choose anything but to follow him?
So, we are created in a separate space, where we cannot see God incarnate before us, where we can choose to believe He does not exist if we wish. He provided evidence, provocation and providence to the contrary, proof in logic to me that He does exist. But He preserves that free will.
Yes we all have freedom but God will judge us according to our actions. We all have to stand before God.
It's because he loves he gave his son Jesus Christ. It's not his fault If you choose to reject his way of you entering heaven.
Hiw did you come to conclude this Jesus ever existed?
one way you know someone’s love is genuine is when they do things for you without gain. not an increase in reputation, monetary value, etc. They genuinely care, if they choose to turn away whatever direction they were going towards to turn to you.
Personal Gain is not necessarily an indication of corruption. Greed is. Remember, To love, honor, have and to hold is mutually beneficial.

Last clip Cliffe released, several of the "regular" nonbelievers began asking questions. One is particular surprised me as his question was EXACTLY answered in the clip. The guy asking the question hadn't watched the clip. Folks, I suggest you watch the clip and then ask your questions. Otherwise, it's obvious the person is not actually seeking truth and understanding...and God.
Hey billy, hope your doing ok. The thing with these conversations is that people with vastly different views aren't going to accept the other sides answer.. hence why I spend lots of time trying to get clarity on a particular persons answer... do you think if Cliffe asked one of those students a question about God, and the student answered him, that Cliffe would say "Ah, ok, .. thanks, now i know" ... no... Cliffe would come back at him and ask him various other questions, .. and vise versa. That's how these things go.. heh, I've watched hundreds of these things as I'm sure you have... we've both been coming here for years. People rarely change their minds in a space of a half hour discussion.... we chew these things over in our heads for years.. I think about Gods existence/non existence every day. It's my favorite subject.
Do you think some form of torment awaits me billy... unless I accept Jesus?
Hi Billy. I appreciate you pointing this out, and yes, ideally, people should watch all of the video clips first and then make comments or ask questions, sure, but can you be a bit more specific regarding this particular question you think was answered in the clip? Which question was it and where did Cliffe answer it??
I know it's a pain to have to look back and quote things etc but it's always best to be as exact as possible so people will know what you're talking about because just saying 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐩. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐮𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐩 is a bit too woolly, I'm afraid.
You need to give some detail in order to allow whoever it was a fair chance to either give a rebuttal to their apparent overlooking of the answer to their question in the clip or if you are right for them to just to say "OK, Billy fair cop, I missed that bit", if it was possibly me, I would be happy to say the latter once you give me the detail. @@JohnCashin I don't think you and I have corresponded. It was someone else. I can give you more details later when I have time. In the meantime, ask yourself Frank Turek's question, "If Christianity were true, would you become a Christian?"
The answer to this and all related questions (why does God allow evil, etc.) is very simple: free will. Because we are created in God's image and He exercised His free will in creating us, we in turn have free will to either accept His divine plan for our lives, or to reject this plan and to go our own way. The alternative is that He would have had to create us to simply follow His dictates robotically, and in such a case there would be no love involved in our relationship with Him. Indeed, a truly loving God would not place such constraints on our choices. Love and coercion cannot coexist.
If God’s real, God saying basically “believe in me or suffer in hell” sure sounds like he’s still bribing/coercing people to choose him though, right? “Be my friend. . .or go to hell as the consequence of not wanting to be my friend”
@Sym3iotic An eternity in hell though? Seems a little excessive, wouldn’t you agree? I have kids - and no matter how bad they get/behave - the length of time for their “punishment” is never “eternity”. And from a rational persons standpoint, simply not believing the story about Jesus Christ deserves an “eternity” in hell? Wow, crazy. . .
I can understand your perspective on the matter but try to see the bigger picture. God will not punish people, He will punish evil. God is good and wants people to live in an eternity of goodness, peace and love with Him. Any rational person would love to live life without evil, strife, pain, sickness, etc. And that's exactly what God will accomplish with an eternal punishment of evil. Good and evil do not and cannot coexist in God's presence. Evil is illegal in heaven. It's not permitted in God's presence. That's why Adam and Eve were cast out of the garden of Eden after they sinned. That's why satan and his fellow disobedient angels were cast out of heaven.
God loves people but not the evil they do, not the evil inside their heart, and not the pain and evil people endure in life. The Bible illustrates over and again that God has been warning and pleading with people to turn from their wicked ways, because the consequence of sin leads to destruction, to death. Abiding in Him brings the goodness in your life that He represents and wants you to have. Jesus instructed His disciples to spread the gospel to the whole world, because God wants all people in heaven. All who awaken to their own sin, who believe and accept that Jesus put the punishment of our sin on Himself (so that we can live in God's presence) will be in heaven.
Those who hear the gospel but choose to live apart from God don't care about being in His presence; don't believe He is real nor the gospel; or don't believe He is all good. They want to live by their own standards and may not care for a relationship with Him. Many don't know and don't want to know that they are evil according to God's standards. They rather believe to be flawed but mostly good. Because God is all good, life outside of goodness is life in the presence of evil. A little bit of evil is still a presence of evil. Those that take offense to an eternity in hell don't necessarily want to go to heaven to be in God's presence, they just don't want to be in hell. They may believe God owes them a place in heaven because they believe they are good. Perhaps because of the things they have done or because they seem not so bad compared to others. They go by a standard of goodness set by people in this world, not by God. In many cases the world's standard is a perverted version of God's standard. Something different from what He intended.
Jesus came to mend the relationship between God and people by dealing with the evil inside of us. Know that God is just; that evil will be punished; and that justice will be served. An eternity of evil riddance is appropriate to God.
If we can freely and willingly accept Him, why would we ever imagine reluctant acceptance is even a possibility?
@@ketojour Thank you for taking the time to respond (and for the thoroughness of your response). I guess my challenge is that - if it “is “ real. . .I’m not convinced that it is real. And the scenario that ultimately the path to either heaven or hell is by coming to the conclusion/conviction that it “is” true. It’s also the idea that if it is “true” - the concept of an “eternity” in hell seems so unreasonable and so unjust for 60-80 years of a life on earth where you never came to the conclusion that it was “real” and that Jesus really was Gods son, that he really died for our sins, that he rose from the dead and that whosever believe in him would not perish but have eternal life. . .
@Sym3iotic How can I accept Christ when I have never even met Christ? How can I have a relationship with God (Christ) when he is no longer alive in my era? Right now it is all about writings/stories, and kinda hard to have a relationship formed in my imagination of how God is.
The angels were created in heaven and 1/3 of them chose to leave God. So it stands to reason that being in heaven wouldn’t take away our free will.
If people don’t desire to be with God while here on Earth
Why would God force us (those who want to and those who don’t) to be with Him in Heaven?

Yes, let's have a civil conversation about your naturalistic faith. Why are you a believer?

@@jessebryant9233 that's his MO, for sure.
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Cliff sometimes has a habit of starting to answer a question and then going into storytelling mode without actually revealing the point of the story. Lol
Dude asked why didn't God put us in heaven already and Cliff talked about consequences....... and forgot to actually say that God did put us in heaven in the Garden of Eden and we rebelled.
Dude said that a probabilistic process of evolution could give rise to our rationality and Cliff talked about a scientist with irresponsible children........... I can't even imagine what point he was trying to make. Lol
@@sterlingfallsproductions3930 I can't pretend to know the full purposes of God. But I do know that Jesus claims the purpose of all humans is 1) to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and 2) to love others as ourselves. You cannot love if you don't have free will.
So if you're asking why God would allow us to do evil, I think that's a pretty solid answer: God allows us to have free will so that we can love Him and love others.
@@sterlingfallsproductions3930 "Heaven" is living in a right, loving relationship with God. So, yes, God did give Adam and Eve heaven.
But you cannot have love at all without a free will. And a free will also allows you to choose not to love. God did not give us sin. He gave us a free will, and we choose either to love Him or to sin.
And yes, being all-knowing, God of course knew that humans would eventually choose to hate Him instead of love Him. That's what Adam and Eve chose.
So the answer is yes, to both. Those are not conflicting assumptions.
Does that makes sense?
@@sterlingfallsproductions3930 Well, God didn't create sin. Did He Divinely decree the fall to happen as well as allowing it in accordance to the volition agency that we, as a creation, have? Yes. Love is capable of being tested, re-proofed, corrected, etc. It stands the trial of fire that tests the waters which is exemplified by the Reconciliation and Redemptive plan He had for us since the beginning.
@@sterlingfallsproductions3930 I'm really not sure what it is you're saying.
What logic makes it impossible for God to want a relationship with us, but also allow us to reject Him?
How does God defining what is good mean He "gave" us evil?
How does God not creating sin "blow the lid" off religion?
Why do you think God doesn't have full control over the universe? And how does that relate to us talking about it?
@@sterlingfallsproductions3930 I'm sorry. What was it that I didn't understand? Could you explain?
He could've answered the first question with this - God wants us to be in heaven, but also God wants us to love what heaven is.
My favorite parts of this series is when students insist that science can solve anything, including relationships.
Irrational.
How is believing in god anymore rational then science...?
@Javen.mccloud ..depends what you mean by rational. I would like to explore what you mean.
@@peterberr3888 based on or in accordance with reason or logic. I just dont think you can call science irrational because it is by definition rational. Based on reason and logic.
@Javen.mccloud .. Is there any role for personal observation in that definition? For example, math is very rational and does not require base axioms to be true in the world in order to derive theorems and conclusions.
@@The_CritiqueNot saying that science in itself is irrational, it's an amazing branch of knowledge, but not all knowledge is based on science. Also don't assume that all people who believe in the existence of a God is irrational, obviously every person uses logic and reason to some extent. We have highly intellegient people in both Atheist or Theist groups.
I love my kids more than anything but yet I don’t force them down the best path in life to be a doctor or whatever I believe is the best for them, they have to choose on their own I can guide them but the choice is ultimately theirs.
First time I ever disagreed with cliffe : I don’t think their will be free will in heaven … we won’t enter heaven in the flesh so that mitigates 90% of the free will we have…
One of those things not worth trying to figure out, Heaven will be better and probably different than our finite minds can comprehend.
@@johnnyappleseed5029 GREAT POINT
How do you determine we will not have a will in heaven? Show me scripture where it says God has stripped man of his will. Your missing the power of salvation, saintiifcation, Resurrection and the Holy Spirit.
@@willp4725 I don’t have a scripture backing up…. Maybe we will have free will but I don’t believe it will be like the same will we have here because of the point I made in the first comment…. We will be spiritual beings
@Justin Gary re read it
Beautifully said
Allow people to do what they want to do so you can see what they rather do! Thats the way God operates
It was revealed to me that it is for the ongoing War between Good and Evil. Hell and Heaven are testing the souls of mortals to see whether or not they are able to be tempted to do commit sins to benefit Hell, or to resist and become a spirit in Heaven and fight Evil in some way in the afterlife
If you love God in this life and have the living hope to be in His presence then purpose of live is God.
"God" is loving in the sense that he can offer provision infinitely without depleting himself, but only a crazy person would ignore "God's" wrath or lack a healthy fear of the LORD... Watered down Christianity will always drown... and deservedly so according to the Bible... Stay blessed!
Humble yourself young man to god in prayer and ask him for guidance and be patient
We can, what he has done for us. To redeem us, gives us all it takes to have back what was lose. Our accepting what he done for our redemption is more then sufficient to reclaim our lost. 1 John 1: 9 show us that it his as if we have never fell away. The one who believe it gets it. Of ourself it is impossible to dig our self out of the pit we are in. But Jesus victory on our behalf make it up for us.
Also, He basically did create us in heaven on earth. We ruined it. But the new heavens and new earth is basically just returning creation back to its Edenic state.
Father God almighty created mankind for his glory. A personal relationship with each of us is the goal. For the personal relationship to have meaning it must be by choice, freewill, chosen by each of us, unencumbered in any way. Those that reject the creator cannot fulfill God's goal, and are likely to spoil it for others. That is a very basic explanation why everyone will not go to be with father God our creator.
Answer to the second question: once the relationship is established there will be no desire to betray it. Also, once the body is changed to incorruptible it will not be corruptible by evil, evil will be destroyed and again there will be no desire for it.
To answer the second question. "Why couldn't we be made in heaven and have the option to leave ?"
Because our fate would be that of Satan and a 3rd of the angels that chose to be seperate from God
We have been put in Limbo with the choice to either be with God or be separate from him.
And I'm sure once in Heaven after this life you would have the option to leave .... but I can Garuntee after seeing the horrors that occur in "limbo" I would rather stay with God than go back to Earth or Hell
The man starts out saying he does not know. That I respect - not all the yayhoos who think that they can just speak on God's behalf. Much respect
