I notice a lot of throttle comments…. As a fellow e biker I feel the need to defend you. Brian could not accomplish near the mileage he is pulling if he wasn’t putting in the work. Great job Brian! No reason to feel guilty about pedal assist especially with the distance your doing. Every episode adds to my trip bucket list.
True. It’s a life-saver when you’ve got (serious) health problems, getting on in years, etc. I know I need to use *mine* a fair bit on long (40-50+ miles) once my legs and knees decide to pack it in - and I do try to exercise as much as I can, but seem to be unable to build condition any more.
I had the same experience when I rode through there on my ebike trip to Providence - I figured for that kind of money I can get a hotel - I get a full charge on my batteries - a shower - and a dry warm bed. I was impressed with the bike routes though Cleveland. Clean and clear. The sketchy parts are in South Buffalo. Lots of trail segments through industrial and dock areas with heavy trucks and trains. lots of poverty, homelessness, and crime. Strangely some of the bike routes were blocked with furniture and possessions from evictions, Rode through there midday. All went well. North Tonawanda up by the Niagara falls is beautiful. rode on asphalt paved bike routes along tourist areas on lake Erie with good places to stop and rest or eat.
Yeah totally. They must have cleaned up a lot of the area because it was pretty nice going through there on my trip. Although I do remember it being pretty industrial. Didn’t make it all the way up to Niagara. Perhaps next time.
Brian what are the specs on your ebike setup? Battery AH, motor watts etc. I love the fact that a fellow ebiker is touring and documented that it can be done. Note, i went threw some of your videos and didnt see a "ebike setup" video.
while you were at the gas station,Inoticed an ice machine in the background, a lot of times you can get to those outlets and charge. I did that across the entire state of Vermont lol
Not sure if you’re familiar with Warm Showers, but that may be a better alternative than hotels to recharge. It’s basically an couchsurfing for cyclists, I used it a few times on my cross country tour last year. Keep rolling! 👏🏽
Hi Brian, enjoying your travels on ebike. Was wondering if you are able to do a map/image on your route display. Trying to see the big picture with major cities as reference points. Thanks buddy!
Another great video Brian, thoroughly enjoyed travelling along with you, do you ever charge your bike at the ev charge stations, all you need is a small adapter and it's relatively cheap to charge if ever you can't charge for free, just a thought.
Never even looked into it as I don’t come across them very often. Also I am usually looking for a stop near a park or lunch, etc. if it’s a viable place for e-bike charging though I might have to keep an eye out.
Love that Relive birds eye view of your rides Brian. I would love to hear a little information about some the towns you pass through. I appreciate riding shotgun with you.
Nice. You need to supply yourself better with snacks. I know you know that so I will shut up. I am curious as to hat bvgb921 is talking about with the adapter for ev charge stations. I have wondered why they did not have a 120 volt plug installed when built.
*SOME few of them do - in Oregon.* Key issue is not all of them have a *live* outlet. Two weeks ago, on 10/9/2023, I tested the one in Astoria, and found *that* one to have dead electrical outlets. The one in Scappoose I tested a while back - its outlets were good. I briefly charged at it, in fact, as a way to test it.
My Brothers and Sisters, And My Friend Brian, with so so so so Many E-Bikes, And Electric Cars 🚗 To, Around The World 🌎 Now, The Governments Should Make A E-Charging Stations Around The World 🌎 Now For Real.
I have used them for regular touring for my camera gear and phone. I don’t think at this point in time they are powerful at a good price point to make a big impact e-bike touring.
doesn't look like you're doing much pedaling so how many batteries and what size are you using? If these are all primarily bike trails then man, I'd love to know the exact route because that sounds like fun!
Brian love your e-bike touring videos. Thank you so much for taking us along with you on the ride. BTW, have you looked into staying at Hostels as an alternative to Hotels? I toured Canada & The USA (by car) and there were literally hundreds of Hostels to stay at. Safe travels!
You need to find electrical outlets, and take your charger with you. You want to keep track of where they are, too, if you’re able to do so. I commonly test outlets with a small Klein tester prior to plugging the (expensive!) Grin Tech charger in. I charged briefly in Seaside a couple of weeks ago while at the Coast. I wish I’d done so for longer - was afraid I’d not get back to the hotel!

I always enjoy tagging along with you for the ride, seeing the scenery, and hearing your thoughts as you journey through the day. Blessings!

The best trips are always the ones you don't plan. Just have fun and wing it.
Totally. I think some of my best trips have been improvised.

E-bike on!!!! Great video.

Long, hard days! As long as it's still fun.
It always is!
Keep pedaling (charging) buddy, you're almost there!
Thanks for the ride along 😎👍
Sounds like that lady wants a tour of your hotel room.😜
Like your shirt, ride safely
Can’t get enough. Great job Brian!

Is that the organization that opens up their homes to cyclists?
Another good day on the bike even with the inconveniences. You can really move right along on that bike,. Take care, Al
You’re on a vacation. Sucks to feel pushed.

People do motorcycle videos. Brian wants to use a throttle, that’s his business. Riding an ebike, when you need some throttle, you need some throttle.
Cool music! So what do you use to plan your route?

Brian, would using solar panels make any difference to charging your bike battery while on the go on sunny days?
I have used them for regular touring for my camera gear and phone. I don’t think at this point in time they are powerful at a good price point to make a big impact e-bike touring.

I hope you got a Primanti sandwich.

THEY (the DEVILS BROOD) don't pay a lot of workers well either:
