    Fishers Lane (aka Snake Rd) is a historic Colonial farm road. You can tell from that bridge that it is old. It originally wound through farmland and connected Frankford to Germantown. Another similar historic Colonial rd is in Pennypack Park. It is also now a foot trail but was originally called Axe Factory Rd that connected Welsh Rd to Bustleton Pike.

    Probably early 80s- My brother & me were fighting in the back seat of the car one night during a thunderstorm. We were driving home from Sears with my dad. My dad had enough- he stopped the car on Snake Road, turned the headlights off & said very seriously "get out". We probably behaved for like a year 😂😂

    Omg when i think of Snake Road i can only remember one thing .. It was lovers lane . The place i used to go with a boy i liked to make out . Yes thats right Snake road was the Make out place for Teens of the 60s . So many great Memories for me here . Its so
    Cool to see it again after all these years but dissappointed that the Captian said he was going down Memory Lane and never even Mentioned thi very important Fact. well it will forever be etched on my heart and in my memory Snake Road in the Sixties . Lovers Lane or The Make out place for Teenagers . Rosemary

    I remember being on snake road back in the 1970's with a friends mom. It was a scary road as a kid. I drove on it a number of time when I got my license in the mid 1980's. I always wondered why it was closed up. I live in York County, PA now.

    In the 60’s snake road was a lover’s lane. In the winter my future wife ice skated on the little creek that wound through it with Joe Kadlec who was in my high school class. Joe always wanted us to join him at the Philly Ramblers ice hockey games where he was a manager, a.k.a. Water boy. Never did. Joe retired from the Philadelphia Flyers as V.P. of marketing.

      @@ThePhillyCaptain I enjoyed the video! I'm from Northeast Philly, currently living in West. Been wanting to make some content myself with my dumpster-found '81 silver Schwinn . I'm dying to hit up pennypack again!!! West Philly's Cobb's Creek Park is like pennypack in terms of trash, has some great wildlife (saw great blue herons there) but it's unfortunately a dumping ground for dogs that were used in dog fighting and died. Would make for a good video and might help raise awareness about the issue...wild west out here

    • @ZachariahtheMessiah
      @ZachariahtheMessiah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePhillyCaptain it's all just the internet and being excited enough to do more than one Google search. Schwinns usually have a serial number, in different spots depending on the factory it was built in. It's heavy but it gets me around for deliveries a few hours a day, and it's still fast. I lack the tech to edit in the flames so gotta work on that

    • @ZachariahtheMessiah
      @ZachariahtheMessiah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThePhillyCaptain yeah unfortunately dog fighting is among the huge problems behind the scenes here that most people don't know about. Ya know, aside from Michael Vick....I wonder if anyone involved is actually a friend of Vicks. I started finding bones in the woods for fun, was gonna make art out of them or something, you can find deer antlers if you're lucky, but I noticed that there are pitbull dogs and puppies like hundreds of them all over the park. It really sucks.

    I grew up in Bensalem and I remember when I was maybe 12 or 13 and my friend's father would drive use through an area that was near Byberry State Hospital. It was always his blue pickup. I guess he was illegally dumping stuff. LOL Not like Snake road but it is a childhood memory. LOL
