Wish i could drive with you! I like it alone do your own thing but you are a good guy with a lot of knowledge. I have a new build maxi ready for that kind of trips i think😅
I have 2 E50 Maxis and a ZA50 Newport. The carburetors are super easy to work on, IF you have a clean place to do it. It would not be easy in the middle of the dirt with the wind blowing. If I were going to take a trip like that (and I am too heavy to ride a loaded Maxi over that kind of terrain without destroying it) I would carry a can of spray carburetor cleaner. Makes it easy to blow dirt out with. I suppose getting bad gas in a place like that is also a possibility. Yes a plugged vent in the cap will also cause fuel starvation. Removing it and reinstalling it will let air in and fix the problem temporarily. I would love to do a trip like that on my Yamaha XT225 with a 4 gallon aftermarket tank. Language would be an issue. I speak English and some Spanish, that's it. Nothing that would work in a place like that.
Fuel "starvation" - keep an eye on the little breather on the filler cap. If your bike hesitates then putters to a stop, then the blocked breather may be creating a vacuum in the tank. Repeated stopping to check fuel level temporarily releases the vacuum, for the process to repeat itself. Just saying, something that happened to me and I was unaware of it until a mechanic spotted it.
Thanks, no issue with the cap, there was acutally a little piece of plastic from the fuel filter blocking the inlet of the carburetor, after I removed that I had no issues anymore
I learned about this a a diesel tech and had it happen to my Maxi when i coated the tank. The fuel cap got coated and prevented tank equalization. What a tricky problem to diagnose.
Sympathischer typ 👍
I enjoyed watching this, liked the music to. Cheers Jeff

I wanna do a moped road trip. What upgrades and improvements should I make sure to do before I go?
Make sure your Brake, Chain and sprockets are in good condition. I can only suggest you Carry spare fuel. But thats all you really need.
Khazakhstan looks like Wyoming.
Geila Typ, brutal... hast du eigentlich dein maxi immer unabgesperrt stehen lassen, wenn du im hotel warst? Lg
