I’ve been collecting Danish Modern furniture for thirty years and I’ve never seen this piece. It’s beautiful! Your inpainting is remarkable, I don’t think I’ve ever seen better.
I'm Danish and I love these kinds of furniture. They are very stylish. I have never seen this model, though, but it is very beautiful and I would like to have it myself :) Beautiful work.
Young man..I’ve been a subscriber now for a few weeks. I can’t wait till you have 100,000k subscribers. You are thee best and I watch about 1/2 dozen or so. This was a treasure for sure. Glad your buddy was safe and was able to score this gorgeous piece.
This is such an amazing find! I'd probably leave in the middle of the night to grab it too! Alas, someone else always seems to get to the good stuff first. Really enjoyed watching this and now I've gotta try out some new products and techniques. Thanks for sharing what you do with us.
Thank you. My goal is to educate people how to refinish furniture properly. I try to explain WHY I do certain steps. At least try to the best of my ability.
Oh man what a phenomenal story and an even more phenomenal piece!!! I've never seen this before. The design is so slick and a gorgeous piece. What an awesome find and one hell of a story. 👍
I had a drop leaf solid walnut table with leaves. It moved all over the country with me, over and over, and I put on free Craigslist. An antique dealer came and got it and my only request was to get a picture of it restored. Months later it came, with its two grain matching pieces and set for twelve with fine china. The grains flowed across the the table. OMG it was lovely.
Stunning piece. Such a sleek design. Being Norwegian myself, finding these are rare indeed. Loved your process, it would have been so satisfying to watch you do more, especially the front. Or else we feel we've missed out....Double time for viewer please.
I'm definitely the person who needs to watch. We have a bunch of MCM furniture in storage waiting for us to learn. (Or for us to act as a middleman for people who already do it.)
I was so nervous when you applied bondo! lol I know nothing about furniture refinishing or restoration - I just enjoy watching the videos! - but I was so afraid the bondo step might be visible in the final product. But you did a great job! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely wonderful restoration. Your skills of matching the existing stain are so impressive. One of the most beautiful looking pieces of mid century furniture I have ever seen. The design is breath taking. Did you keep this or bless someone else with it's ownership?
Thanks for the kind words. Color matching is not something you can do with big box store stains. The piece belong to a dealer who wanted it restored. They just sold it today!
What a beautiful dresser ! I can say that, usually, I don’t like danish style ... but I would see him all alone in front of a wall to highlight his spectacular side (thank you google traduction 😄)
My parents bought a house full of furniture from Dania in 1958, I believe. Sadly, my mother was forced to sell all of it, in the late 70's and I was just a teenager so did not appreciate the furniture I grew up with and was in no position to have it. It makes me so sad!
As an amateur i would have stopped at shellac or thought it was the last step. Still trying to figure out what the vinyl sealer and lacquer others do in its order.
@@Dudeyoureajoke shellac isn't durable enough for a topcoat and is the incorrect finish. I use shellac as a barrier cost in case of silicon contamination. Using vinyl sealer and lacquer together creates a very strong finish that's pretty much period correct.
Did you refinish the whole piece or work with the original finish? I do have to refinish dresser tops pretty often, but rarely if ever have to refinish the whole piece. I like to keep the original patina whenever possible, which is probably 95% of the time of about 200 pieces or more that I have restored.

Absolutely Amazing restoration! 😊
Thank you! I feel fortunate enough to have worked on it.
The dresser is so functional and stylish, it sleek and beautiful ❤
It really is!
Great video. Love the nighttime drive and back alley part. The depths someone will go to to get a gem.
True. For some people it's all about the hunt.
Wow! Nice job on this one. I have never come across something that beautiful. Did you just end up refinishing it for your friend? Great find
It was a commissioned piece by a dealer friend of mine. It truly is an amazing piece of furniture.
Perfect. This dresser is truly beautiful.
Dare I say, "stunning"? 😆

No problem. My goal is for people to learn how to properly refinish furniture 😁
This is a work of art. I am so glad it was rescued from that alley.
Thanks. Me too!
This is a beautiful piece and you did a fabulous job.
@@JanetteStubelt thank you 😊
Absolutely beautiful! Job well done. Than thanks for the info about this piece.
@@gaildudlicek890 thank you. I want to educate people on my channel. A lot of misinformation out there 😐

That is stunning!
Thank you. Stay tuned. I just received the matching nightstands!
Turned out great! It reminded me of a Dashner Design episode.
Thanks. I'll take that as a compliment!!
S o brave of your dealer to follow through on the original sale!amazing story
Agreed. The risk was worth the reward.
You did a fantastic job! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
As an aside, I don't think there is any danger of someone accusing you of being too modest. LOL!!!

I would have jumped out of bed for this one too! 😍 How very unique

Outstanding!
Thank you
Beautiful piece of furniture!
Thanks. I wish I could take credit for the design. But I only refinished it 😆
Newark NJ , night , by himself , in an ally ????
This is a scary story
But this piece and you restoration are fire !
Crazy story for a special piece!
A great find, and a great job restoring it! Especially with the inpainting. Were you spraying a coat of sealer over each application?
Yes. After each touch up while inpainting I spray a quick coat of sealer. Inpainting is a process of layering the grain painting. If that makes sense.
@@MadManRestorations Yes, absolutely. So you can potentially modify any one of the layers without removing everything you've done.

That's how I feel about my grandmother's furniture. So now I'm addicted to buying furniture that reminds me of her house.
Very cool!!
I might dare to say, very very cool 😎
Great job bro!

What did he pay for it in that back alley?! Amazing restoration 😍!

Okay. We're all dying to know what was paid for it.
