Unreleased, my Corsair is my favorite. My 400i is my current in game favorite. The loaner Constellation Aquilla has really grown on me over the years but i love my 400i. Its my go to for just cruising around in the Verse.
I remember when “luxury” was introduced in ship design and the community howled in agitation and crys of ridiculousness. Look at how many enjoy this concept, myself included. Its my daily driver and great for a variety of missions.
The 400i is a joy to fly. The MSR is faster and turns sharper at higher speeds, but the 400i's handling within its own SCM speed seems to be more responsive, so it feels better-handling even though it drifts into turns a little and has slower SCM speed. Since we tend to take more notice of handling at lower speeds around landing/take-off, the 400i just feels like a better daily driver, not to mention its really cool design. Its shape kind of reminds me of the starship Destiny in Stargate Universe, and I love that ship.
400i is my favourite ship. It looks very good. Has a nice internal layout. Nice speed. Good shield. All in all a very fine ship. Downsides are the lack of pilot controlled firepower (wish it had S5 or 3 S4) and the upper turret fire ark.
I joined SC about 9 months ago or so, got the 325a after watching tons of videos and loved it… then this thing came out and it just fit nearly every desire I had in a ship this size. The rear cargo that can fit a few hoverbikes/a small ground vehicle, the dedicated X1 nose bay, great speed/shields. I only wish it was more agile and maybe had S5 hardpoint x2 nose turrets but it is still my daily driver now.
I love the 400i! I just keep coming back to this ship, it really has everything and it is a great daily driver and most importantly an awesome mid size explorer ship. The 400i has that big scanning suite too. Honestly, what is the most attractive thing about the 400i in this Mid range exploration ship is that Captin's Quarters is very nice! Compared to other ships, seeing the 400i at that $250 range is the best part. Once the Origin bikes and vehicles become available in game, I'm sure many more will look at the 400i or 600i. It is great having a big ship, but a more manurable daily driver to nice too. I love both the Corsair and Andromeda too. I compromised with the Andromeda and picked up the Taurus and will upgrade it in game with that sort of stuff becomes available. At least, you get the extra storage for $190. I am excited to see what happens with the 600i, I love that one too especially the exploration variant.
i see the 400i as more of a freelancer, cutlass competitor. The 600i was originally intended to compete with the conni series offering increased size via use of lightweight materials and advanced systems to keep the crew requirement low. Once you see it in this comparison its a very good ship, not outgunned or outcargo'd. Its drawback is the cost compared to the other 2 offerings.
God this is my dream(medium sized) ship. I've got a corsair and bmm but this is definitely going to be the ship I grind for at the start of every wipe.
@@lostree1981 Every couple patches all progress is "wiped" away and everyone starts fresh with nothing other than ships they bought with real money and any gifts or exclusive limited time event gear. Until the game full releases this will be the norm
Sipping a cold Coors "Banquet" beer during this vid. This ship has been my daily driver since release. Looking forward to the scanning and route planning array. Honestly a super comfy ship and fast in and out egress.
It was a last minute pickup for me when I was on hiatus. I'm glad I didn't miss it. I think it will be a great all rounder for just taking in the sites without too much overhead.
Damn, you're a good content creator, smooth, easy to listen to, and comprehensive. Hope you make more videos like these covering ... all the cool ships. 👏 👏 👏
Thanks! I've been mostly creating content on Twitch over the last 6 years, but I have a new family now so I'm focusing my content creation more to offline like TH-cam. There is a lot more to come, I promise! Thanks for commenting!!
It has just the right size and amount of space to live in that I desired when I was requesting something in between a 300 series (which only has like one living space) and a 600i. The only thing that I regret is that it kinda has the shape of a Romulan bird of prey and I wish it had a sleeker design. With the white paint, it doesn't really bother me that much, but with other paints it really looks kind of mean. Overall I'm OK with it and it really looks nice on the inside.
While I love the look and feel of the 400i, I dislike that CIG claims it's a competitor to the Connie or the Corsair. It's closer in function to the Drake Cutlass Black. Where it compares to the Connie or Corsair is in it's retail price.
@@anferFFmax I really dislike the Connies. I spent 6 months flying one to convince myself to like it because it's so good on paper. I couldn't get over the looks or the interior layout. I fly a MSR instead and even with it's stupid doors, I love it.
Take out the x1 bay, shorten the nose (proportionally), make it a double bed in the captains quarters and maybe a nice matt grey/black paint scheme and it's about the perfect ship for a family of 4 to travel from planet to planet. It would be the ship equivalent of a luxury people carrier.
I really hope they come back around to tweak this ship after the 600i rework because it has so much potential! It's just a shame that the actual practicalites of the ship so far are a bit lacking... Especially the, frankly, dire cargo bay. But there are about half a dozen tweaks that I can think of that would really bring it up to snuff, functionally speaking.
I view the 400i in the same vein as the 100i. While the 100i is a sleek economical single system run about. The 400i is similar but for travelling across systems. Beautiful looking ship and by far the best interior thus far. Sadly with only a single system and already having the 600i she's not a good fit for my fleet. Origin ships are for people who think flying anything else is uncivilised.
I made fun of this ship a lot. Now, as someone who's interested more in things like smuggling and on-foot combat, I REALLY want one. The speed, the defenses, it's perfect. Wouldn't mind if the hardpoints were S5, but that's minor to me.
Is it possible to pledge for the 400i? I'd love to get my hands on this one but whenever I'm logged into my RSI account and select the 400i all I get is a Flight Ready icon. No options to buy button. And I already own a few other ships. What am I doing wrong?
Some ships are only available at certain times of the year for real money pledge. There is an anniversary sale every year in November where all ships are sold. Invictus is coming up but that's generally military style ships
Course the origin ship would have Medway ship to situation of tier 1 like the hospital as well because it'll be out in middle of nowhere and origin to make sure that would be cuz if they're supposed to be that kind of company they would make sure that the 600 died 890 jump the 400 I would have a two one medical Bay not a tier 2 cuz all that means is death.
60 m long don't you mean more like 60 ft outside it might be 60 meters but you go inside it's only 60 ft so what is it all armor and no luxury I've seen that ship numerous times now and it's supposed to be such a big deal and you have to show so much lacking of stuff like most ships on that game not All ships.
Every time I say 400i, you have to take a sip of beer. Good luck!! Let us know what your favourite exploration ship is!

@@famousblack05 I like my Andromeda (lots of missiles and guns +practical) my ultimate goal is the 600i but now seeing this...
The older I get, the more appealing these comfortable, laid back ships seem. An amazing amount of detail. V comprehensive overview.
This one reminds me a lot of that luxury vessel Sony gave out with the pre-order of SWG Jump to light speed.
@@RedLir_Live Wasn't the Flash Speeder the reward for pre-ordering?
@HERR VADER You're probably right! I'm thinking of the SoroSuub Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 which was in fact a 6 month veteran reward!
It kinda reminds me of Padme's Royal Starship.

They really gave it that speed yacht look. Makes you wonder how it would come across of the bottom half was sitting in water like a boat.

for some reason, I get really really low frame rates inside the main body / cabin of my 400i... no issues with other ships..
Kinda sad that the X1 was announced back in 2017 and still isn't out yet, nor is there any word from the devs about it.

I don't like how they put the bike bay behind the gravity gen. That way you can't conduct maintenance on the bike on the go which is kinda dumb.
