Eleiko Oppen trap bar. Worth the extra expense, rackable, many more exercises, built in stand, you can use as a safety squat bar as the huge front tube is comfortable on the shoulders.
@@crashkg great bar but not something I'd recommend to everyone especially at over 3x the price (vs this clearly original Titan bar) and a lot of other companies having open trap bars. But can't argue that quality! Unless you're Kabuki perhaps haha
I have a regular chrome trap bar. After second herniated disc 8 years ago, doctor told me "well, you will have to learn to live with back pain from now on", which I did for many years, then I started mildly working out because yeah, I was waking up every day and had to leave the bed after 4 hours of sleeping because of pain. I started doing dumbbell deadlifts, then I found out about this miracle traap bar, first no weight, 2 years later 150 kg ten reps, and less pain can sleep a solid 7hrs straight with very mild pain. I even started doing regular deadlifts but I cut them at 110 for 10 reps, and sumo deadlifts I go 130 for 10 reps. All because of this bar.
I have the Vulcan open trap bar, I wish I would've waited on Bells of Steel 4.0 or the inevitable Titan knockoff, because it was pricey but oh well lol
I have the open trap bar by Wright Equipment. It's a really great bar but its also my first gym purchase so...the sentimental value is through the roof!
I’m still using the mega cap 75 lb trap bar but I can’t use it on my platform it’s not wide enough to keep the plates off my wooden center. Might be in the market for a upgrade
I'm guessing this isn't about the new industrial line. It's a fine bar just has short handles. Could wait to see what Rep drops soon as well but Titan's is solid.
@@GlucksGym if you had to choose between the cheaper bells of steel open bar or the Cap combo grip cheap version which would you choose. I dont plan on lifting heavy. Thanks Gluck!
Hard to beat it for the value, honestly. Not a fan of the knurling on the handles, especially the lack of markings. Anyone find a good DIY solution for grip consistency? I feel unbalanced every time I pick it up.
Had the CAP “Mega” hex bar and hated it. Bought it because at the time it seemed heavier/beefier than those budget options, and it was, but in reality it just made it incredibly difficult to move, load, get out of my bar holder, etc. would much rather have one like this that I could rack.
@@mariolp2999 I mean my wife couldn’t even lift the thing out of the vertical bar storage. It was definitely built to withstand a bomb but it just felt overly heavy to the point that it was constantly annoying IMO. Being rack-able would have negated some of that. Knurling on mine was pretty bad too, a few bare spots in the coating and knurling, and some sharp burrs on the edges. Just really poor consistency.
I haven't tried it sorry. By looking at it I feel like it's too similar to a lot of other budget bars like that so I never gave it a chance. I could be wrong though as I haven't been let down by them yet.
@@GlucksGym Thanks for the reply. I gotta say, your channel is awesome and my wife and I have been binging your videos to help us get going on this. It's easy to see you're very dedicated and sincerely into this. Thanks again!
Yeah I'll review version 4.0 when it's out. I've already spoken with them a bit. I thought about doing 3.0 but I don't want to recommend it to people and then turn around and say hey I knew this was coming out...
Yeah it’s weird their earlier version had the longer sleeves but the 3.0s were shorter. The longer ones are coming back by customer demand. Especially since the rise of deep dish plates and bumpers are really popular now. When I had deep dish I could only get 4 plates on each side
Love all your videos but that aside, I think you could stop slacking and do at least 2 videos a week 😆, also how a bout a hypothetical limited space home gym recommendations with varying budgets... also big love from the UK 🇬🇧 keep up the good work 👏
I have a limited space one but haven't done it yet. It'll probably be awhile. I'd like to do two but it would have to be a full time thing and I'd need to be larger to accommodate the purchases haha.
A little bit Matt (he's in a shot or two in this video) is 6'1" and 250 and he's had this bar longer than me. He says it's tight but doesn't mind but it is a common complaint.
@@GlucksGym hmm ...thanks, it's a tough decision between this and one of the Rouges. I don't want to pay 200+ more for the extra width but I sure would pay an extra $100...REPS bar has a low weight limit(500LBS) and the other trap bars seem to have short sleeves.
@@GlucksGym not sure if Rogue copied them, but Rogue build is way better when I compare my trap vs my friends Titan trap. His welds are terrible and that damn sticker 🤷🏾♂️. I would have gotten Kubuki, but they are on some hard stuff with that price.

Do you own a trap bar? Which one it and how is it?
i don’t ❤️
Kabuki - it’s a lot more expensive but you can do carries and lunges and whatnot and the build quality is sick.
