Namaste ji, Jai Sri Radhe Krishna Thank you so much of your beautifully sharing the excellent Carnatic Musical Vocal concert of the Carnatic Musical Vocal concert of the Carnatic Musical Vocal exponent Vidhwan T R Subramanyam My hearty congratulations to him and his accompanying Vidhwans
Peri Shri Sriramamurthy is new to me; he is dignified with no uncouth body and facial movements you see frequently displayed by the knwo-it-all young ones with money these daya. All the three exemplified purely dignified stage mannerisma. Pranams to all
Peri Sriramamurthy is a delightful violinist. He reminds me of Annavarapu Ramaswamy and T Kesavulu; he knows his role to be an accompaniment and plays appropriately and with bhAvam. There are times where he does bring something new like in kApi. He taught many disciples including those elder to him like my grandaunt. He used to play for TRS, Nookala and Hyderabad Brothers frequently.
I wish to thank Shri Jayram Sataluri for this wonderul posting of my old friend Prof TRS. Imagine the joy vaggeyakara LGJ saar felt as he sat in the front row listening to his own song sang so flawlessly. An ebullient personality that Prof TRS was he exudes positive energy with that smile of approval for his pakkom vidwans; with that lean and erect body there was never anything artificial about his stage persona. Even the waving and the weaving of hand gestures for the thalam exprssions were smooth and not annoying. O how I miss him. In 1993 he was sitting iin the front row at the Queens, New York State Mahaganapathi temple kutcheri of his young sishya, one Jayamangala of Madras, TN; I was seated next to him. She began her third aong "Brovavamma ..." In a hushedd tone he wondered : Manji? In Tamil, Jayamangala said : All saar, Neelambari saar." Oh, then he had a namaskar gesture for the young singer. After "Brovavamma" the sahitya took a different twist. At the conclusion he approached her and told her with a big smile : Your surprised me; today is my US-residnet son's birthday; I consider this as a gift for him." I have heard his Anandamurthakarshini in a concert recording held at Vaikom Mahadeva Temple in 1989 with Sri M Chandru, TKM saar and Vaikom Gopalakrishnan sir. It's outstanding. In fact the whole concert is one of my favorites and should be listened to by all: th-cam.com/video/cDcrLmrM3eY/w-d-xo.html For TRS sir, it didn't matter if the krithi was long, short, a paDam or a javaLi, he would embellish it in his own way. And the Tirupati Narayanaswamy kApi jAvaLi he has rendered here is breathtaking. And the veterans in the audience were definitely in awe throughout. The kalyaNi piece by the Thanjavur Quartette is captivating. We need such rare krithis to be rendered. Please continue to share your love for the music with us.
