I love the moment when Grbić just wanted to go after this referee for his own FAULT! Also, that's the reason why Grbić is so amazing coach, he's hot-headed sure, he protects his own players, but is never happy when they win the match. Cause you need to aim higher and higher. Need pushing for more. Great atittude. Pushes polish team to being hard workers as well as going after gold medal with confidence!

Canada did hang in there with the number one ranked team in the world and even took a set from Poland and the other sets were fairly even except for a couple of points here and there. The difference is Canada just could not stop Poland's vaunted attacks. Let's go Canada and good luck to both teams.

Szalpuk, Hawryluk, Jakubiszak, Adamczyk from the first game. Bednorz is not going either I am afraid (Semeniuk, Fornal are definitely going if they keep up their play, Śliwka is too important, there is Leon as well).
Everytime i watch this kinda matches, i appreciate the Japan team for going toe to toe with this giants. All the team are so strong. I ❤ Poland aswell. Well done.

Poland is the number one ranked team for a reason. There's little weakness in their game. The Canadians have improved quite a bit since the last tournament and I'm very curious to see their progress in this VNL and in Paris.

Canada has so many other quality players. Daenan Gymiah is back on courts, Vernon Evans is also probably the best outside for team Canada but they are no where to be seen!! Canada needs them to go up against top teams like Poland..
Don't forget to add that this is not the basic Polish team. Śliwka and Kochanowski are playing because they had broken fingers and did not play for a long time

I think what Poland lacks, which had been lacking for the longest time, is the skilled full Setter, like Micah, Gianneli, or Marouf (in his prime). If they have this kind of Setter, they'll be unstoppable.
we have Janusz though, i really don't understand why he's so underappreciated by the non-Polish volleyball fans... he's really precise and a great strategist. no team would come this far without a great setter and Janusz definetely is one. (i'm not a big fan of Łomacz though, i wish Firlej or Komenda was no. 2 in the NT.)

See 1st CL semi Zaksa vs. Perugia for an idea how imprecisely Giannelli can set on a bad day. Janusz has never had a single performance that bad. Just because a setter is more offensive, plays from the 2nd ball more often, does not automatically make them better, duh. It only makes them more noticable to a novice volleyball observer. Setters job isn't to score points. Their primary job is for their team to do so. If a setter does that personally? Cool. But they's not automagically a good setter, then. Clearly not Lisinac's account, as he wouldn't be writting such nonsense.
When you say lacking for the longest time... We have won lots of titles with our Fabian Drzyzga, now we have one of the best setters in the world in Janusz, I honestly don't know what your point is. You need to watch more international volleyball!
