He was too Christian for Americans. He was against the Mayan genocide in Guatemala (as charged by The Hague) for the fruit lobby but reagan had no qualms, Death squads in Central America trained in GA were sent to slaughter Jesuit Priests and nuns who had introduced Democracy which is unforgivable in the US hemisphere as US hates democracies (see how they are called socialist by the media monopoly in the oligarchic states of america).

@@kobushauman3310 There is a saying that sometimes you have to be bitter before you can get better. On September 11, 2001 I started to change a lot of my world views. We would also be worth millions today if we had been able to keep the land. I can honestly say that everything I have I earned it. I didn't inherit a lot. When a family looses something like that you learn what is important. You also learn who your real friends are and that is priceless! 1980 has been 41 years years ago. There were also issues with Reagan's farm polices that didn't help. We went through bankruptcy and auction in 1986. Both Reagan and Carter shared solid Christian values as they were both pro-life. The grain embargo was bad although it also helped to slow inflation. Retail food prices came down and it may have help millions of people the ability to afford food. There was a time when we had double digit inflation. People had it it bad all over the place, yet that is now the good old days. In 1979 we thought 79 cent a gallon gas was way too much.

Also the fact that his merits were largely overlooked, proofs that politics is about image in the first place. Luckily he got what he deserved after all, but it's a shame he couldn't fully accomplish what he had set out to do as a president.

Jimmy Carter is a man who sticks to his beliefs, you have to admire that in him. But he was a weak president that was stubbornly bent on doing things his way, as opposed to listening to others around him. My impression of Pres. Carter was that he was a man of great ego trying to make you think he was humble - which I'm convinced he is not, underneath it all. His great self-pride was that he (in his mind) was humble and he worked very hard to give people that impression. This attitude produced a feeling that he was not very proud of America or himself and, in turn, he made Americans feel badly about themselves.

I was around! There are more aspects to a man than making a great economy or the price of gas. As far as his leadership, he admits to his faults, weaknesses and limitations as president, therefore it is not necessary to comment on what was acknowledged. I believe when a man is able to reflects on his life, be it good, bad, or indifferent... says a lot to me about a mans character. Despite “popular beliefs”, the ability to admit to ones weakness does not show failure ...but that of strength! I see in Pres. Carter, a man who is humble and one who shows grace and mercy... a man who truly fears God. But if leadership is all about the economy and the price of gas, then we now have the “greatest” leader in the world! I guess it doesn’t matter if this leader sows division, fear and hatred along racial and party lines... refuses to condemn white nationalism/supremacist, sexism... or one who entrust foreign governments over our respected NSA...or condemned a respected POW for beginning captured during service to his country or one who threatens the boundaries of our constitution! You know, I can keep going on but if you are going to define a leader based on our economy then I guess I have nothing else to say except God bless the USA 🇺🇸

From George Washington, who became President in 1789, all the way until President Carter left office 1/20/1981 the total U.S. Federal National Debt was only $910 billion dollars...not bad at all for almost 2 centuries & 2 world wars.
Then look what Reagan did - more than TRIPLED the national debt to over $2.7 TRILLION DOLLARS in just 8 years. Also look at what G.W.Bush did to our national debt - the American taxpayers has to bail out the crooks on Wall Street & the corrupt banking industry etc for trillions because of his reckless deregulation policies.
The true fact is the GOP is responsible for our huge national debt.
