Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans . The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom. If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. True I can’t believe what I am seeing now the new version from Jamie fix now that gives this 200% more justification Michael would not be happy with this let’s just be straight up from a Australian
Patty kinda ruined the song. Not the right time to show off her range. If she had her own act, she can do it, but doing it over 40 other people on stage is disrespectful. I dont care who u r but she had no respect. Especially cuz she had to be told to get away from the mic.
Didn't know it was Claptopn but I immediately realized based on the soul of those riffs , that it was a genius guitarplayer.. know 1 other guy who can pull that off nowadays, and that is John Mayer
I've just read the story behind this song.. How it all started with a single Vision, a dream, and how everyone was giving it all to the song... Amazing!!
@4.10 Ms. Patti takes this song to a high level, so up lifting and energetic. I think its one of the few things that had been missing in this performance. She did the same thing or even better than her friend Cindy Luper did in the original performance. The problem people have with Ms. Patti is she out voices all the others, but that isn't her fault. She is gifted that way. I live her Vocals tho better expressed in solo performances
Are you kidding? Patty ruined the whole thing! Her big mouth drowned everyone else out. That was extremely selfish of her and disrespectful to the other singers
Patty Labelle went to cover the place of Cyndi Lauper, she was invited by Bob Geldof, but when she was ready for, Cyndi was hospitalized by an appendicitis emergency at that time.
Considering this was the ending of 4 hours of concert, they all are tired and just wanna have fun.. this was a great closing for that moment and circumstances!
Kenny Loggins mentioned that the sound people back stage were trying to cut of Patti LaBelle’s mic, but they were not sure exactly what mic she was using. The guy at 3:33 whispering in Patti’s ear lol telling her calm down probably hahaha Patti Labelle stole the show. She outsang them all.
Kenny Loggins: I was in on the closing song, but shit, I don’t even remember what it was. Maybe a Beatles tune? All I remember was - what’s her name? This Black woman with the voice of God. It was her turn to sing, and she was screaming on the microphone. It was so loud. So overwhelmingly loud. There were at least 12 mics onstage, and the sound guy had to be trying to figure out what mic she was on to turn it down. It was hilarious.
Mesmerizing moment. Looking back from 35 years afterwards, just can't believe people could have a such an upbeat mentality at that point. We are the void, soulless generation.
*Acho que a Miss Patti LaBelle deve ter pensado assim: Ah, é. Já que não me colocaram na primeira versão da música, na versão estúdio, irei mostrar agora para TODOS eles o que eles perderam!*
where was HE....??? i know it wasn't cuz he was asking for money...maybe this was right AFTER that whole Pepsi commercial fire accident thing... speaking of MJ's absence...where da fuck was PRINCE...??? i thought like Madonna, with the absence of Cyndi Lauper, Prince would take a segment, in place of Michael....
the madafaka Prince retired from live performances at the time, and watched the event from home. And also something along the lines of assassination scares too.
@@victorrhams3429 a WHAT...??? assassination scares...??? that a real thing..?? never heard THAT one before... what, cuzza John Lennon...?? anyway...my point is... the american artists, who were actually more dominant back then (especially the SOLO acts) MISSED the opportunity to shine here, alongside their British contemporaries....
Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, Cher and Keith Richards are among the huge stars on that stage and they allowed Melissa Manchester and Sheena Easton to hog the mic (twice each)?
who both sucked, quite frankly. And then had the nerve to try to sing with Patti , whose talent was just far above and beyond every last singer there.I think maybe the great Tina Turner declined to get on the mic.
What's with all the negativity??? Live Aid was not a rehearsed concert.. this performance was impromptu at the end of the 18 hour concert... I guess whomever was around and on stage grabbed a mic and contributed. I'm guessing a lot of those making negative posts either forgot how the concert was arranged or were not even born.

Lol!!!!! Now that’s the most improvised shit I’ve ever seen on stage lol!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂true
They did put on a hell of a performance for a 9 yr old. Thanks guys. 🙏
I Love you Patti LaBelle❤❤
Love from Bali, Indonesia🇮🇩💐
That moment in 1:27 is the reason why live aid marked in human history
2:05
I don't even recognize the two women y'all are pointing out. Is one Sheena Easton?
Im fkin dead bro 😂😂
What was that lmao
That shit sounded like DMX making noises 😂😂😂
Patti made the whole thing happens 😅💛 Fabulous, Ms Patti! She is pure power.
considering all the USA for Africa artists NOT showing up, thank GOD for Patti.
She saved that song for real
Patti always SHAKES THE ROOM❤💪🏾
Thank you for Miss Patty saving the whole song
Ricordo come se fosse ieri ❤😭
Totally
❤️
sabrina brown Using the gift that god gave you is to much? They called her for a reason. Her talent and the way she sing, sooooo. . .
Patty kinda ruined the song. Not the right time to show off her range. If she had her own act, she can do it, but doing it over 40 other people on stage is disrespectful. I dont care who u r but she had no respect. Especially cuz she had to be told to get away from the mic.
We can't see him clearly, but it is definite there was Eric Clapton. His guitar is outstanding.
You can't see him, but you can definitely hear him. Nobody plays guitar like that. Nobody..........
Exactly! Eric is so goooood here!
Wow didn't know that, now I could hear the guitar now
👏🏻
Didn't know it was Claptopn but I immediately realized based on the soul of those riffs , that it was a genius guitarplayer.. know 1 other guy who can pull that off nowadays, and that is John Mayer
Diese Gruppe mit Chor Kinder wow❤ wunderbares Lied,, USA for Afrika,,habe Grad Gänsehaut bekommen ❤❤❤höre ich sehr gerne 💋💋
Patti destroyed everybody! End of story!
She seriously wrecked the song.
@@francessjean5861 agreed
@@francessjean5861 seriously your life is wrecked dumb ass.
@@Reboundfifty go to the original song than!
@@marimuffin chill out😂 everyone’s opinion matters
Patti simplesmente reinou nessa apresentação, deveriam ter colocado ela na versão original. ❤
comecei gosta dela depois que ouvi ela nela apresentação.
Oh wow, Patti belting it out and sounding amazing!
I've just read the story behind this song.. How it all started with a single Vision, a dream, and how everyone was giving it all to the song... Amazing!!
Omg !! Patti labelle..
Yall know Tina Turner is Patti's biggest fan.
I can't help anyone if they don't get chills watching this and brought to tears as to the beauty and absolute all of it all!
"Do They Know It's Christmas" in the U.K. stage sounded much better. And this from a fan of "We Are the World."
Patti LaBelle just comes in and slays at 2:54.
Until the END!
The perfect grand finale to the greatest musical event in history.
I live her Vocals tho better expressed in solo performances
for me she was terrible singing Cyndis part..
Really?? May be yo biased on her. She always gives energy whenever it is lacking, same she did in "I wana what love is" with Diana Ross back in 1985
@@l.davidesc Cydni sure as hell couldn’t sing it anywhere close to Patti did . I can bet that !
Yes good save especially as she got to the mic a tad late like half of them when sharing a mic. Bit of a logistical nightmare on stage by the looks.
@@l.davidesc your right
Thank God Patti was there to clean up the mess 'cause honey it sounds like karaoke night at 2am.
yass, Patti whooped everyone's butt vocally
Are you kidding? Patty ruined the whole thing! Her big mouth drowned everyone else out. That was extremely selfish of her and disrespectful to the other singers
@@PlumbPitiful she only “drowned everyone else out” because unfortunately they couldn’t keep up 🤷🏽♂️
Patty Labelle went to cover the place of Cyndi Lauper, she was invited by Bob Geldof, but when she was ready for, Cyndi was hospitalized by an appendicitis emergency at that time.
Patti was clean the scene 🧹
Minha diva musa da música pop internacional Patti Labelle arrasou nesse dia eu amo cantar essa música e não é de agora 💗
Patti la belle just came like a Storm
2:53 JESUS, WHAT WAS THAT???
INSANE, A BEAUTIFUL VOICE WITH EVEN BETTER PERFORMANCE
Considering this was the ending of 4 hours of concert, they all are tired and just wanna have fun.. this was a great closing for that moment and circumstances!
16 hours of concert. This ended 16 hours of Live Aid. So well done all.
I don't think Patti got that memo.
@@nutinman4u Agree! Patti is the epitome of energy!
Kenny Loggins mentioned that the sound people back stage were trying to cut of Patti LaBelle’s mic, but they were not sure exactly what mic she was using.
The guy at 3:33 whispering in Patti’s ear lol telling her calm down probably hahaha
Patti Labelle stole the show. She outsang them all.
SOUL FAN she was probably shit faced. It would hv been nice if they did cut her mic
G Men2121 I smell a hater
She’s known for still being heard without a mic look up “Patti Labelle no mic” 😂
G Men2121 lol, like she would give a damn. She can still outsing everyone else WITHOUT mic
Cher...!!!! man, there WERE a lotta American musicians showing up...but NOT doing their own sets...such a shame...
Mesmerizing moment. Looking back from 35 years afterwards, just can't believe people could have a such an upbeat mentality at that point. We are the void, soulless generation.
THIS IS YOUR SONG BRO YOU ARE THE LAST SIGER WHIT ONE BIG BIG BIG HEART.
R.I.P.
MICHAEL JACKSON.....I MISS YOU BRO...😢
I am touched with your words

As we know, if a stage is filled with professional singers and they sing a song together, then only ego is on that stage. Everyone wants to stand out.
Some messed up the lyrics. No Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Steve Perry, Michael Ray, Hall and Oates, Kenny Rogers.
Hall was there shmuvk!
I think Daryl Hall WAS there. You probably missed him.
No Huey Lewis & The News either... :(

This amazing and talented performance took place 39 years ago today🫶🏻❤️🎶
Without Michael is not the same thing
He was very busy with making Capitan EO, that's why Michael wouldn't perform at LIVE AID
where was HE....??? i know it wasn't cuz he was asking for money...maybe this was right AFTER that whole Pepsi commercial fire accident thing...
speaking of MJ's absence...where da fuck was PRINCE...??? i thought like Madonna, with the absence of Cyndi Lauper, Prince would take a segment, in place of Michael....
the madafaka Prince retired from live performances at the time, and watched the event from home. And also something along the lines of assassination scares too.
@@victorrhams3429 a WHAT...??? assassination scares...??? that a real thing..?? never heard THAT one before... what, cuzza John Lennon...?? anyway...my point is... the american artists, who were actually more dominant back then (especially the SOLO acts) MISSED the opportunity to shine here, alongside their British contemporaries....
the madafaka MJ burnt his hair in '84 not '85
Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Bob Dylan, Cher and Keith Richards are among the huge stars on that stage and they allowed Melissa Manchester and Sheena Easton to hog the mic (twice each)?
who both sucked, quite frankly. And then had the nerve to try to sing with Patti , whose talent was just far above and beyond every last singer there.I think maybe the great Tina Turner declined to get on the mic.
sheena pathetically clinging to the mic is an accurately summary of her career

i like how freddie’s not even in this video but people are still mentioning him in the comments hahaha
If Freddie was there, i really love to watch him to sing the whole song....
It would've been comical to see him outsing Patti Labelle.. he probably was watching the "performance" at home!
Lol...freddie can't be at the same time at different place lmao. Hes in wembledon with the british This is in Philadelphia
RainFrog Tv *Wembley. Wimbledon is a stadium, but it's mostly used for races.
@@kakerukakeru8614 Phil Collins was in both. Different time zones. Freddie could have been too.
Great live performance! Live Aid was amazing
They didnt arranged the parts to those singers before the concert...thats why a little bit mess for having all of them to showing their vocals...
Yep, and you could tell that some of them were sort of fighting for the microphone when their parts came up.
Free for all, however good singers stand no matter what😊
Essa é a música mais ouvida e conhecida de todas as gerações até hoje! Eu não era nem nascido mas gostaria muito de ter vivenciado esse momento!
Debativel, mas gosto muito dela (Da versão USA for Africa)
Hahaha, Patti ROCKS! Watched this during pandemic May,25,2021

Freddie is dead. And that breaks my heart too.
