hey, this is very clever. I've been looking to automate this for a while, but I miss the sleep timer feature. I often use the "end of song" timer feature, do you think you could add this functionality or explain me how to do it ? I haven't found the functionality in the api's documentation, but have thought about just getting the duration of the song and manually pausing the song after such time. You can apparently get the song's time in milliseconds with the "get track" request. honestly, this would be a life saver. I do this every night and just think fixed period of time for sleep timers are dumb because they cut the music. If I set it for 20minutes, I want it to wait 20minutes, then wait for the end of the song, then stop. Much more natural, in my view. thanks already!!
This doesn’t seem to work unless I have music playing already. I intend to use this with an automation that when I connect to my car Bluetooth it will automatically play my playlist… If music already needs to be playing it kind of defeats the point lol
If you paste the device ID in the shortcut, it should always work. However, it won't work when your iPhone is locked. to set up an automation, you should ask Siri to play Spotify music a couple of times. Then such action will be available in Shortcuts, which can be used for your automation.
This one is hard to set up. It can start play Spotify music on other devices. If you only need to play Spotify on your current device, I can make a easier one.

Maybe, In the automation, add an action to open Spotify and then run shortcut

Could you develop a shortcut that hands off whatever song is currently playing to a different device, rather than going into the recently played?
This shortcut can select a device to play. You can modify it to your preferance.

Allow the shortcut to access your iCloud. The shortcut will create a key.txt file and save it to your icloud.

This error indicate the client id and the account you signed in with are not the same spotify account.
