Again - awesome video! I am a "classical" programmer, learned C, Pascal ... etc., and porgramming shortcuts always seems like talking to a drunken 3 year old. But by watching your videos I finally start to understand what that drunken toddler means ;)

The settings URLs are really cool. I still wish Apple would add more iOS settings to shortcuts for full automation but cool none the less.

True, man! But I believe this is for privacy reasons... The fact is that on Android you don't really have any privacy with apps. When I was using Android, I used the swifkey option a lot.
On android you have the option to favorite the clipboard editor and even what you've copied to the clipboard, it's on the keyboard right above the letters.
On iOS you can only access the clipboard from there and even then it's not as easy and fast as on android, because you have to access a swiftey menu to get there and as it's nothing new, there's no option to favorite the content of the clipboard!

Hi Stephen. Really useful. One thing I’m trying to do is turn off silent mode whenever I connect the phone to power. My use case is that when I plug in the phone in the car I’d like to hear notifications and when I unplug it it goes back to silence. So far I found how to unsilence it when connected but not the reverse. Thanks!!!!!

Great content. I use my 15 Pro Max with 2 SIMs and I had the work SIM turn on and off automatically at preset times. This worked up to the last sw update. Now I need to select the SIM each time manually hence automation is gone. Apple support confirmed they had changed how it works but could not offer any workaround. Do you know if this feature will be restored or how I could get around manually selecting the desired SIM? Thanks.

1. NFC and shortcuts.
How to include a 2. TH-cam playlist to play upon tapping an NFC tag.
3. Documenting a workout, starting a timer, and playlist. Something like this:
Tapping a NFC tag to make it start a 20 minute timer, sending an email or text, making a note in the notes app, starting an exercise playlist on TH-cam, setting an alarm to remind yourself to exercise (5 days a work week).

Since island use max usage of 1 or two apps live activity its not optimised its graphics and transition when another live activity of another come in play. For example i was wondering using shortcuts to freeze one app dynamic island usage when another app use its graphics. Anyway u could help me bro?

I have a quick question: i have an automation to turn off cellular data when any wifi connects and turn on when any wifi connects - the problem is the fact i have a wireless carplay, so it seems when carplay connects, a wifi is both connected AND disconnected at the same time, and i lose my cellular data.. this also happens even if my carplay is not connected - i.e. if my wife's iphone connects to carplay, mine gets out of the cellular.. i have done an automation related to carplay to try to correct this and give me cellular anyways, but it seems the wifi connection/disconnection of wireless carplay overrides (or it is 'stronger') than carplay automation

Is it possible to create an automation for ipad for when the ipad connects to a bluetooth mouse, it either takes you to the trackpad settings page so you can turn off natural scrolling, or just automatically toggles off natural scrolling for you?

Check-in is nice but I can trigger that Home ETA shortcut and run it very quickly. Even from Apple Watch. Check-in is a little more involved

Thanks for your time creating this helpful and clear video. What I would like is a toggle shortcut that would turn the camera and mic OFF and then on at a system level. I've not managed to find a way to do this yet. (it seems that you can restrict location tracking for apps to 'only while using' but this option doesn't seem to be available for camera and mic which is disappointing)

I have a fairly important question that I haven’t seen anyone asking anywhere.
I recently got the iPhone 15. I was quite upset by realising that I can’t turn off the image processing software that changes the picture I take automatically. It is quite frustrating because most of my selfies turn up to be really dull. It’s like the image processing software is turning the warmth down among other settings.
Is there any shortcut that enables me to set a predetermined filter? Like rise saturation 10 points, rise warmth by 20 points, etc?

Thank you! So there is a feature that may help. When in the camera app, holding your phone in portrait orientation, swipe up from the middle of the screen. Then the icon that looks like 3 squares in a row, tap that, and you can set a default tone a temperature to your photos that will be applied to everything you capture. Hope that helps!

Can you please help creating a shortcut to switch mobile data between two SIMs ?
I have an e-SIM (1) and a physical SIM (2), so I want to toggle mobile data between these two SIMs as and when I want with a touch of one shortcut on the home screen. The 'Set Voice & Data...' task does give an effect like running but does not do as I go & see in the Settings. So it is not working as of now (for me) !?. May be, I can try accomplish it using 'Set Mobile plan On/Off', absurdly shutting the line itself. Please let know how you apply.

You can! You can have the actions detect language and keep the steps as-is, or make a menu where you choose a language before speaking and another menu for which language to translate *to*

Hi Stephen. Thanks so much for this video! One question - I tried configuring the Connect to specific WiFi Shortcut, but could not get it to switch WiFi networks in my house. I have two networks and I want to switch depending on where I am in my house. The shortcut runs but never switches networks. I deleted the portion of the shortcut that plays music so all that’s in the shortcut is the Network name and Password. Where have I gone wrong?
Yea this isn’t actually possible in Shortcuts. He definitely forgot to add the “Open URLs” action which will use the “url” variable he setup, but it gives an error message 😢

However, I would like the option to NOT send the message. The idea being that unless I stop a message from going out every morning at a certain time, the message will be sent. I live alone and would like to compose a message for my friends to check up on me. This will go out unless I stop it in the morning. That way, if I'm in a bad way, for whatever reason, no more than a day will pass by before my friends come and check up on me. Last year, I think I may have gotten covid, and was barely able to get out of bed for a whole month. I'm trying to be proactive. Thanks.
Thanks! If you enable the "Show when Run" in the message action, it should ask for confirmation. Or you can start the whole automation with a "Choose from Menu" Action, make the two options "Send" and "Don't Send", then put the send action only under the "Send option"

What i did was to make a triple tap shortcut to trigger the sleep focus so its dnd and everytime my first alarm goes of, it turns off sleep focus if it was active at that time. So i get calls and all that stuff even if i turn of the alarm on continue to sleep

You can use Shortcuts actions to check when something is playing! But the automation needs either an app open trigger or some other option available on the automations tab. Just playing any media can’t be set as a trigger
How do you keep location services off by default, Only to turn it on for specific apps?
Hey, is it possible to make the appearance button (dark/light mode from the control center) also switch a wallpaper using shortcuts? I know there’s an option using automation with time, but I wanted to create one that I can manually use with a single tap on the appearance button.
While not directly, you could make a focus mode that changes the wallpaper and dark mode status, and then trigger that using a shortcut!
