I had a very big argument with a fellow guitarist buddy who tunes his guitars to Db just like I do. He was always like "dude... it's C#." I always countered with "They're the same thing..." And finally he got all annoyed one night and explained theory wise how it's C#, pulled up a noted explanation that he had from his theory classes, and lo and behold, the sheet said...... "C#/Db" lmfao
It was tough to hear Mick's influence or to what level. I figure it was probably that breakdown but still. Andy and the guys fucking killed it as always, including Mick. Just wish I heard more of him.
Browne sometimes layers his riffs with an 8 string to put emphasis on the riff being played, so it was most likely Browne. Mick Gordon would've mainly had input on the string and synth arrangement, as said on the discussion on the monuments yt channel.
If you go and watch the URM video for this song, you can see he did quite a bit for this song that you just can't really hear that well. I love the song, I think it's great, I just don't think they utilized Mick's work to the fullest extent that they could've. But that's just me

If you do a collab with somebody who has such a distinctive style the fans should at least be able to tell in some way. It doesn't necessarily have to jump in your face but as Nik said: if there wasn't the "feat. Mick Gordon" in the title nobody would have known. Imho Monuments has gotten less interesting with every release. I didn't expect them to play in the same style for forever, that would be stupid. But they do sound very generic these days. Just my opinions of course
I've said this on other videos, but, the first Monuments + Andy recording had nasaly cleans which really made me worried they were going to sound like a band from 2007 but that hasn't been the case thank christ, Andy might have been nervous and distracted during that recording, might have grown as a vocalist since or might have been guided by the monuments crew. Who cares, they're all epic. I miss Chris, I miss Matt but Andy is far more consistent and has the chops to fill in the shoes. We got Mike back (absolutely necessary for monuments) let's hope Olly didn't leave too big of a whole. I fucking love this band if you can't tell, I don't want to seem like a total critical asshole, I just know what they've done and hope the changes don't hinder the potential
