I am not one to EVER post comments on TH-cam videos but I was compelled to tell you that this video is by far the BEST "How to" item specific tutorial I have seen. I do custom acrylic artwork and I am consistently having to learn new techniques in each painting I do according to my customers specific wants in their custom orders. You Tube has been so helpful to me in aiding my ability to make their visions come alive on canvas & custom skateboards. I wish every tutorial on item specific painting techniques was as great as this one. Good job MuralJoe!!!! Thank you;)
What I honestly enjoy Joe is your subtle aim of teaching organic forms and shapes vs techniques. I most certainly enjoy your courage and boldness with colors (Stellar Nova mural on black). I also love how your "teaching voice" lifts me up with tenderness and respect. 💜

Just got back from Galveston, whereI learned a lot about the shapes of waves and flatter areas of the water with colored pencil, of all things. I knew painting this would be closer to what I was seeing, and then saw you doing what I very much wanted to do. Your effort was sooo good and you made comments that were very helpful. Thank you for sharing all you did. I was in Galveston as you were in the process! Thanks so much!!!

Totally beautiful! Such detail! I stumbled on this video because I love seeing big waves from a safe distance, but this artist spends so much time and effort on his painting - the foreground looks so realistic.
Really good work. I see now it takes stamina as well as exact coordinated hand and brain work. Really exhausting for the novice. Congratulations on your mastery.Great painting.

Painting has always been my great weakness in art and this helps a lot, especially because I working on a coastal scene at the moment and alone the way you are painting water really goes with the style and direction I want to work in.
You're amazing Joe, you seem to have a photographic memory, remembering what a breaking wave really looks like in your head and then going from it, back and forth to the painting to get it how you already see it in your mind. (Just in case you didn't know, that's quite a superpower!)

Muro Joe is insanely good. By far the best beach scenes and teacher on the Internet. However I’m not sure how do I achieve the color of the ocean like he does so if somebody out there wants to throw some tips my way I would really appreciate it as I am pretty new at painting
