Love how you used the perspective lines. It made the rest so easy to understand. Excited now to try this in a painting.

You have amazing understanding of shadows, shapes, colors, etc. I have never watched anyone who paints as carefully yet easily as you. How much art education have you had? I think most of it comes naturally to a very smart guy! Thanks for your videos. Always informative and challenging.

Cobalt teal, or turquoise. Both are great for ocean water.
I don't usually use more than 5 colors in my paintings but those are two great ones for any subject as a supplement.

Troy Dennis not learning about doing bills is very needed yet we learn about x=y. When tf would we ever use that in our life. If people want to become artists they could take a art class and learn this but art classes just do dumb sketches they teach you it’s not useful. This is.

    • @troydennis96
      @troydennis96 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

Lizzy they teach you basic skills. They teach you algebra because it’s the basis of calculating a budget. They teach you geometry as it’s the basis for construction. This isn’t difficult to understand. This could be offered as an advanced art class sure but certainly not for everyone.

"Lay em' down together, don't think too hard about it." That's
precisely the type of coaching I have needed over the years,
    whether it's a portrait, or a Sci-fi/Fantasy painting---I have
struggled too hard THINKING about HOW, or WHAT to do
in certain situations. When I simply take a deep breath---
close my eyes for a few moments, and just allow the ta-
lent and creativity take over, things go MUCH smoother.
    Thanks for the reminder.

I love the impetuous way he paints. He’s like caught in the middle of a creative burst (and bet he was in it). His words are simply, clear, spontaneous and have sense. He doesn’t waste time. He’s in some ways frenzy and I always loved this dynamicity. I would fall in love with someone that alive!

This is some of the best water I've seen. I'm love painting water. This has inspired me for a new type of ripple that I haven't tried.

Good evening, it seems that the waves whatever they are at the end of your different brushes, you are a great master. I can not do without your videos, I am a self-taught drawing and painting. I find your techniques very interesting and easy to master. Thank you great master.

Most likely he is using oil. The blending looks very smooth (an attribute of oil paints.)

If it is oil paint... Is it a paper made canvas?

You have a wonderful attitude and a great way of explaining your thought process as you work your way through your piece. Well done and thank you so much for taking the time to share God‘s gift within you.

this is exactly what ive been searching for!! I am learning to paint with oils, and have quickly found that I am completely ignorant on nature's so-called 'rules' for water! I keep on googling, looking for a breakdown of the universal geometric mechanisms for it, something i can apply to any instance where I'm trying to capture water/reflections. Finally found it ;) Thank you for breaking it down this way!! your work is so lovely!

It is always wonderfull to look at the fhytmic movements of wTer - and to catch that rhytm and movement in an image is a way of opening into dreamy states of being. Just beautifull

This is what I needed. I've been struggling to figure out how to paint water swells for a commission piece. Now it's back to the drawing board for practice!!
