Wow that’s one of the most beautiful whale fins (or plants in general) that I’ve ever seen! One day I will get my own 😊 yours is an absolute dream though!!
Congrats on 2000 subscribers!!🎉🤗💚 that so sweet of you to do this giveaway, thank you so much! I've done everything and now will keep my fingers crossed 🤞😉 Keep the videos coming!!👍
Ohhhh.. 💕💕🐳 🌱wow , thanks for showing how to cut it! I wish I have that type of plant. So many in your collection I love too. Just admiring all of your plants! Take care.
Joan Dickenson you are welcome 💚!! Thank you so much for watching. I’m hoping to one-day cultivate more of these large babies🐳. I want to plant them in my yard 🌱 they’ll pop up and grow like mushrooms 😉
Thanks for watching and so glad you enjoyed the video💚🌿! Yeah I also have noticed that no many use the term "cache-pot" when they speak of potted plants. Thank you for noticing 😉
When separating my first pup today (and thus having no idea what I was doing, I might add), it just snapped from the mother plant and this video was the first one I found and kept me from freaking out xD oh so it's meant to seperate, okay! Repotted it and hopefully it'll thrive! I love your huge plant by the way!
Love your video, simple and precise...don’t worry about pronunciation. Most of us speaks two or three languages.😀. It’s understandable! I’m new in your channel. Thanks for sharing that video, I really enjoyed it. Just recently purchased a large Masoniana aka whale fin.
@@aGirlwithaGarden Okay I know your looking forward to seeing it produce babies. I love watching my Sansevieria produce pups. When they get big enough I give to friends. I love it. Thanks for responding.
Very helpful video. I like the whale fins that appear wide at the base. Will my grown pups remain healthy if I bury their skinny bottoms deep enough ( maybe 4 or 5 inches) so that the width is at the top level of the soil? I think I said this right. Thanks.
you did a good job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 thank you for sharing your expertise. a month ago my whale fins got flowers and after that it has 13 seeds, my question is what will i do to the seeds?
Hi there. I recently purchased 2 eight inch whale fins. Do you know if these whale fins will eventually have a pup? Or do only the mother plants give up pups?
Hi hi thank you for sharing I have 2 small plants like the baby you have and they are both sending out pups but I want my own to get like yours any tips you can give wld be greatly appreciated thanks. God bless from Trinidad in the Caribbean
Hello there 😃🌿, they need space to grow within their container, well-draining soil, bright filtered light, and a good slow-release fertilizer. Something like a 14-14-14. Hope this helps.
I haven't propagated by this method myself so I cant really speak on it. However I have tried the same method of leaf prorogation but with water instead. I have also heard that the method you speak of is another way of propagation so it is possible.
So I bought a whale fin and separated it with the help of your video! It’s been about 6 months and it isn’t as sturdy as I think it should be in its pot. Am I doing something wrong? 🙁🙁
Hi. Fall in love with your whale fin. I got my first whale fin(approx 20 cm tall) three weeks ago. Love it. Since last week the edges becoming wavy. Can you advise what could be the cause it? What should I do? I live in a tropical country and I water it once a week. Thank you..
Hello there. That large whale fin that I propagated and is the one I'm giving away in my giveaway actually grew and took off last growing season. I did an unboxing of the plant when I first got it if you care to see the growth its had 🌿
Watering depends on your climate and where you have them growing. I have some growing in low light so I water those ones once ever 10-14 days. The other ones that I have growing in brighter indirect light I am watering those closer to once a week. Hope this helps😁🌿
Thanks for subbing so happy to have you 😉🌿 !! The baby fin needs a repot already 😉 but if I want to keep him small I could keep it in the size scale pot. Think I'll eventually upsize the pot soon but just enjoying its baby size for now.
Any time you are propagating a new plant you need to give it time to adjust. Placing it in full sun wouldn't be the best to do at this time since the plant is already in a stressed condition from being cut. Just place it in bright indirect sun for a couple of weeks before moving it to full sun.
I haven’t had any issues with propagating it through this method as I don’t wait for the cut to callous over before planting and I’ve propagate quite a number of snake plants each year 🌿
I just got a BIG girl. She's beautiful and regal and a work of art. I'm trying to figure out how old she is, but they grow so slowly I have no idea. She's 18 inches tall and about 6 inches wide. She's also THICC. any idea how old your tallest one in the 10 gallon pot is?
I just bought a whale fin pot with 7 leaves, so excited! I heard some people trim the leaves at the top to maintain a specific shape. Would you know if this could damage the plant somehow?
Ivy Hafer Hello there 🌿. I’ve never heard that that people cut the plant to shape the top. Yes it would damage the plant if you cut it. However the plant heals itself but you will see plant scaring. It’s not something I wouldn’t recommend doing with this plant. It’s not like a bonsai 🌳 tree which can be pruned and shaped.
What if mine doesn’t have have a rhizome that’s is separated like yours? I wish u can attach a picture, I have a fist size clump that has 3 leafs but what I want is one leaf per pot. What is a best way to divide something like that?
