Thank you Paul and Paula! This is the best, most in depth, yet clear explanation of rental taxes in Mexico I’ve ever seen

Yes and it's a shame that more real estate agents in Puerto Vallarta do not fully disclose the complexity and expense of proper tax filing when discussing the possibility of rental income and investment properties to clients. almost criminal one might say.

Interesting clip, more involved than I thought.

Great job Paul and Paula! Complicated, but you’ve laid out the steps nicely so I at least know where to start and who I need to help me. Paul, you continue to produce content that helps me as a recent buyer. Keep up the great info sharing and forward thinking of what buyers like myself need to know!

could you have a chart to list the types of taxes and how they are paid?

Do landlords use other sources to obtain renters such as FaceBook groups instead of using online booking agencies like Airbnb to avoid having taxes withheld?

The RFC is for the business or your personal?

Unfortunately the audio is not the best so it's hard to follow everything Paula says. It would have helped to have drawings and pictures, there is too much technical information to keep track of it all (!) Then there is the matter of a tax treaty between Mexico and the US and Canada. How does that fit into the picture to reduce taxes, or to organize one's business situation to increase deductibles or ownership (i.e. by an irrevocable Trust)?
