- When private citizens keep wildlife as pets, especially big cats and other large, powerful animals -- it almost never turns out well. It's also a potentially deadly situation for the owner or other people who must live or work around these animals.

What the hell is in a persons mind to think they can have and handle a tiger?! This is not only stupid, but it's cruel to the animal. I agree exotic animals like this should not be kept as pets. Just typing that someone is keeping a tiger as a "pet" is just crazy thinking to me. They think they're cute when they're babies, and they are, but those babies grow up REALLY fast into a strong, unpredictable adult.
I think they believe that if they cage the animal it automatically becomes controllable. To a certain extent this is true, but obviously not in the cages this owner had their big cats in, and the conditions in this case are deplorable. I've known a couple of people to have bobcats as pets, but they are MUCH smaller than a tiger. There are a lot of rescues that have big cats responsibly. Although, the big cat rescues I've seen have never referred to them as "pets". I guess some people are just bat shit crazy.
Nancy Kane I think the problem is that a lot of people think that dogs/cats/farm animals were domesticated over night, rather than over thousands of years. People think dogs are just friendly wolves, when they are as related to them as we are to chimpanzees! Lots of DNA, not much else.
If you speak to a lot of people with these animals it becomes clear that they are mostly either uneducated, or avoiding the facts because they love their animals and like to think they are making them happy by keeping them 'safe' and fed...

some people think owning exotic pets mean they are cool and extreme. I have seen millionaire Saudi Arabian students from the middleeast boast of their lion and tiger pets. I know rich people in the USA owning these pets and trying to think they are cool. I think it is disgusting.

Patricia Carrasco they have play enclosures for them to run and stretch their legs in, which is much much more than what he had in that mud pit.
It might be a quarantine enclosure or we might not have seen the whole set up
They might just be keeping him in there until he gets used to the feeding schedule and his surroundings.

All of these lawmakers who get into power become multi millionaires that's why they are there simple solution is that two terms and out would help so it would maybe only attract people who for a short time want to give back to America and are not there to rob rings round them.
Please take good care of this tiger, the mountain lion, lynx and the other animals and give them a good home, they deserve a better life.

These animals are beautiful. Thank God for these kind, compassionate humans. The enclosure is sadly small for the tiger, but at least there's soft grass and he'll actually be taken care of....
Once I've gone through school and maybe hit the lotto, my ultimate dream is to procure a hundred acres for a circus elephant rescue. It seems that the bigger you can make the space, the better. Even our dogs deserve long off-leash hikes and quality real meat diets so that they get daily variety and enrichment like their ancestors enjoyed

Totally agree, I hate circus that includes animals. Wild animals belong in the wild.. we must preserve their natural habitat, and let them run wild and free.

Glad everyone was ok, and that the animals made it to new homes safely. We need to close the loopholes and simply make it impossible for people to have lions and tigers as "pets".
I just wish that people would not make animals suffer like this I small cages it just make me cry to know that sume animals have to live like that

Could be worse, the VClinytons wanted to restore the original balance of nature by importing grizzly bears from Canadainto suburban Idaho!A palace which terrified the native americans until a hundred years of effort stopped the bears from eating humans!
Poor Kansas folks live in Kansas, can't blame them. Got nothing else to do with their lives. So they try to get hold of these animals, even if illegally
The smaller cats went to big cat rescue in tampa and are very well taken care of!
But I hope the tiger's new pen is bigger than what we see......

Is the pen that it was moved to its permanent home or will it be moved to a larger enclosure?
I was wondering the same thing. Looks a tad small :-/
they'll be moved to a bigger enclosure. they put them in the pens while moving them from place to place to make sure they're under a watchful eye so they don't harm someone. they'll later be moved to a bigger habitat
The video also said that they need to be evaluated by a vet before they release them onto the reserve. There's a follow up story on the Black Beauty Ranch's website on this tiger. He now lives with at least 3 other tigers they've rescued.

The Humane Society I think if these cats were to go anywhere that would be the best place I personally do not believe and taking these magnificent cats out of the wild but we all know that they're all on the endangered species I don't agree with what was going on here in anyway I just wish we had a way of saving these animals from Extinction that is so sad that they're treated this way truly magnificent animals
Humans figured out how yo fight-and kill these deadly predators long ago, which is why WE'REthe dominant species on the planet and the cave bear and saber-tothhed cat...arn't. With habitat space decreasing and human population increasing, you eventually get to a point where either you keep some members of dangerous species alive but under control-or you kill the human for them, or they kill the cation the theory that carnivores aren't entitled to eat their children!
I’m here to give friendly answer lol. The reason they can’t go is because they’d have to learn to avoid humans,traps, and catch their own food. Hopefully they can become apart of the breeding program that is currently saving these endangered species!

So They just moved the Tiger to an enclosure as small as the one He was in before! Enclosures that size would be illegal in UK! I just read that He'll only be in that tiny enclosure while He adjusts though so I hope that's true! Poor Baby. You can bet Your life that when He was illegally exported to the US with 3 other Tigers, the other 3 died on the Journey, stuffed inside crates with not enough air! Tigers are wild animals & should not be used as trophies of wealth like garden ornaments. Hope He has a happy existence now, no one forcing Him to perform tricks or neglecting Him. Just letting Him be apart from to provide His care!

Black Beauty Ranch I have 2 worda for you Bless You ! We need to get the message out there that exotic animals should NOT be sold as pets and captive breeding for the exotic pet trade should be illegal and people who are caught captive breeding these animals should face charges.and or jail time .
If you want an "exotic cat" as a pet......catch a feral cat, release it in your home....and let the fun begin!
Be kind, feed the cat, and forgive when you get bitten and scratched......and you will slowly win their trust, may take a few months......but its worth it.

Maybe not your own house, a shed or something. They hate being in small spaces but yes I agree my mom has tamed over fifty “feral” pets ^^
There should be more or very wide scale legal sweeps all over the place and environment inspections covering the whole country to stop crap like this. So many animals would be rescued and places put in far better conditions

@@anonymous-wu2rq These cats learn to hunt by watching their mothers but in captivity that is impossible. There are some rehab programs out there, but it's usually preformed with young animals that have had little human interaction. These animals do not fit that criteria.

I got a serval and a wolf dog the serval is outside 24/7 nice tall cage and a indoor if the weather is bad but also she is hand tame but still watch out for her. The wolf dog is puppy dog tame but you need to knkw how to handle them
Dillon Holt I agree. You probably know this but you’ll want a really long toy you can swing for him/her because servals jump for the food and if you take away the hunt part of an animals life you’ll want to provide a substitute aka play time

I remember during my 5th grade summer to Idaho and Washington, I visited a small zoo that housed a bunch of big cats, including a white tiger and (for some reason) a grizzly bear. I didn’t realize it then, but they were kept in kind of small cages, especially the lion. I wonder how they’re doing now...

My favourite animal is a tiger and I think the jobs that they r doing is wonderful and inspiring when I grow up I want to help animals and bread them too ( so guys in 10 years time ( I will be 21) call me if u have troubles with animals or seen animals ) thank you

The cage at Black Beauty ranch was probably temporary housing, until a place at an accredited zoo or wildlife park can be found. Generally if you turn out an animal used to a small cage into a massive one straight away, they can be very frightened of such an open space.
That is terrifying to just have a small clip on the cage and that is it. 🙀🙀🙀🙀
