Dump Poles regardless of the next coach. Bad evaluations: HC, Claypool, Davis, Bates, Braxton jones, Swift, Herbert, Johnson The whole O-line and RB room is a problem.
Hey Hoge! IHSA official here, slight clarification. Under NFHS rules a holder is not required for any free kick. The only exception in NFHS rules is that a punt may be used on the free kick after a safety. (Rule 6-section 1- art 2)
mccaskey's don't have the liquidity to get favorable rates on loans to build their own stadium is my guess. they need the state or city to foot most of the bill.
I suppose I understand this, but I’m happy to listen to these guys talk about free kicks and sports writing for a bit. The season is over, they played the Lions a few weeks ago, and the talk about how shitty the organization continues to be has plenty of runway. You also don’t have to be a dick about it
Maybe I'm a nerd but I thought it was an interesting discussion, both because I love the more archaic aspects of football like the free kick and the way writing about sports has changed as we developed the technology to watch games on TV or discuss them live online I find neat. I get the show is about the Bears but there just isn't much interesting to new or say at this point so id rather get that vs inventing fake stakes or drama to the game.
Why would the Bears hire J Harbaugh? Is it because his personality does not match George? Maybe he did not get along with Warren at one point? Maybe because he's not a YES man and they can't handle being told the truth. Maybe because JH dated one of the McCaskeys way back when? What ever it is, George's BETA personality is affecting the whole organization and the only feedback he gets is from a board that is basically his own family who is telling him that he's doing a great job. Everything wrong with this team falls on George's feet and his BETA personality. Maybe he'll hire a committee to determine who is incharge of who/what/when and where. The fans will have to live with his ineptitude until they sell or pass it on to someone in the family that hopefully is capable of being accountable and willing to learn from past mistakes instead of doubling down on it.
Why not... It's weird that people think Tyson can't be developed even after his success in his first action in the NFL with no preseason preparation..... But yet, everyone thinks Caleb can be developed even after his deficiencies and lack of progress at the QB position after 13 games.....
I’ll be damned if I listen to a whole show of woulda, coulda, shoulda. That’s about 75% of all their shows lately. We could have had Harbaugh!!!!!! Unsubscribe.
Incorrect, "Jah-hans"; George McCaskey's son isn't NECESSARILY the next in line (there's no "set order") - it's whomever Virginia appoints - as she may not see her grandson as worthy/fit for the job.
We don't know their succession plan. Per Sportico in 2022, every team has to file a plan annually to the league office. To me, the point here is that when Mrs. McCaskey passes away, the 31% that she controls has to go to George if the team is going to stay in the family. If it disperses evenly among the remaining children, then Pat Ryan and the McKenna estate became the predominant shareholder at 19.7%, and then would be in a race with presumably George to buy out the other McCaskeys. That's a race that Ryan, an actual billionaire, will win easily. What Jahns is saying is that George's son Connor would be George's choice to succeed him. Whether that's in the estate plan now, we don't know. But if Mrs. McCaskey bequeaths her shares to George, then he becomes the majority owner and could then pass his portion to Connor. The wild card is that Virginia McCaskey herself only has 19.7% of the team (same as Ryan). What puts her over the NFL's minimum control threshold is the 11.3% bloc she controls and that her children give her voting rights to their shares. She can pass that 31% (19.7+11.3) to George, but we don't know if George's siblings will give him voting rights too. Maybe some will sell to Ryan or some other billionaire. Just seems like a lot of questions to be answered. www.windycitygridiron.com/2024/11/29/24308839/dear-mrs-virginia-mccaskey-whats-right-is-right-eberflus-poles-warren-george-halas-chicago-bears
@ashotonehlobyjacksilverste4416 I have no idea what a "Sportico" is (nor do I care), but I don't put merit into such things - & I'd advise that you shouldn't either, as mostly those things are erroneous or completely invalid. Thanks for reiterating what practically EVERY Bears fan already knows, RE: stock holdings & who owns specific shares & who likely would succeed the current regime of McCaskey's in power (additionally, Ryan's shares essentially confirm that if the team ever is sold, he would get first crack at purchasing the team), but, no - "Jah-hans" implied (very clearly, I might add), that if Virginia McCaskey decided to pull another power play & remove George from his current position in favor of someone else, his son would become his successor. THAT'S what he said. Nothing about the league's succession plan, nothing about shareholders or any of the other nonsense you tried to legitimize/reason - & I CORRECTLY called bullsh*t on that nonsense. Virginia McCaskey, & Virginia McCaskey alone decides the appointments of departments if she believes a change needs to be made, as she has ultimate control over such matters - & not even Ryan could challenge her, unless there was a coup of some sort & she was voted out of power, & I doubt highly that either she or any of her children, deceased husband would have brokered a deal with Ryan or anyone else that would give someone outside of the family that kind of power. Think, kid. Think.
I hate that we didn’t get Harbaugh
It be different if they at least tried and he picked another team

Thank you!
The Bears did a free kick (to a win) ... I remember that! Was that a Mac Percival kick?
Nov 1968 wasn't it foggy, Bears beat Packers second rarest play.
Caleb Williams showed up and has the entire Chicago Bears organization doing the Spiderman meme
This is actually pretty funny
Living in texas I can tell you, you definitely get sick of the heat
Kevin Stefanski should be an interview
They can't do anything right. And never will until the org is sold.

Why in the world would you want to keep Ryan Poles?
The fair catch interference helped
Show starts about 18 minutes in. First 18 minutes is them just talking about nothing (very, very slowly). You're welcome.
Thank you!

Actually, there’s really no argument to keep Poles. The roster stinks and they’re about to pick in the top 10 for the third year in a row…
Fired lovie a year too late
Bears suck now and forever. I am done with these loser owners.

Nobody cares man
