    Point to note: NO street continues across King William St because "you cannot cross a King". While some may argue that North Tce crosses King William St, it doesn't. King William STREET runs between North and South Tce. The other side of South Tce is Peacock Rd. and the other side of North Tce is King William ROAD , not street.

    • @FieryFlamingFajitas
      @FieryFlamingFajitas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jorel4477 OK, but half of the things you've listed have been severely impacted by the coronavirus? Housing prices here are amongst the lowest in Australia, try buying a house in Sydney and you'll realise how good it is here.
      There are jobs here, they just might not be in the areas you want them to be. We have some really good universities as well, while we're talking about the future of the kids. Adelaide might not be super busy and densely populated but that doesn't make it bad. It really just depends on your perspective. If you want busy and congested, there are cities on the east coast that are perfect for that

    • @jorel4477
      @jorel4477 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Unis are better and offer better stuff in other states.

    I'm not exactly sure too many people would know about this, but a very sad end of an era occurred in Adelaide last year. The traffic signal on the corner of Jetty Road and Gordon Street in Glenelg, believed to have been the oldest traffic signal in mainland Australia still operating, was decommissioned and replaced with a standard LED one.

    Because the main road is King William street, when one intersects, its called another name, as they didn't want the streets to cross a King.. So Rundle mall becomes Hindley, Grenfell st becomes Currie st etc.

  • @kart44
    @kart44 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Heres my top tips. 1. walk around city for a day maybe a Adelaide oval tour and the church next to it. 2. Glenelg is the tourist beach but only a average beach. 3. Southport beach has beautiful cliffs and stairway at sunset for photos summer only.4 Wine tour by bus any of them are great. 5. grab a car and put on the ferry to kangaroo island the ferry is expensive so grab some backpacker friends to share the cost. Once your over there enjoy some of the most pristine beaches you will feel like your the only people on the planet. Also theres caves and wildlife everywhere. Little sahara desert. Seals. Cheap camping with kangaroos. Beautiful place.

      Great to hear people representing Southport, when I used to work at a hotel on Hindley street. Guests would ask me what beaches are good to see, I’d always point them to Southport as Glenelg was just a tourist trap, not that Glenelg isn’t worth visiting, but for the true beach coastal south port is the ticket.

      @@MrDredd1966 I will agree there's good and bad every where you go, but to me there's more bad in Adelaide than good.
      Not only is Adelaide bad for the people in my opinion, but there's also nothing to do here. We have only 3 events on during the year, and they're not spaced out really well. We have 2 at the begining 9f the year and 1 at the end, and nothing in between. At least in Sydney or Melbourne say, they put events on all year round, so there's always something to do.

    16:06 this is Hindley Street. This goes all the way through to West Terrace. Typically, Hindley Street is mainly where the nightlife/clubs are, where behind you where you were is Rundle Mall, then where the other street you were back in 12:17, if you follow that down, that's Rundle Street.

      @StriderCX 2nd yes I very much do, it is very clean (just don't move to the Northern suburbs, It can be quite rough up there) the people are very hospitable and it a great place to raise a family. the CBD is about a 30 minute tram ride from the Glenelg (the main beach for tourism) and there are some great spots outside of Adelaide eg. Victor Harbour, second Valley. It is quite a safe city depending on where you go, I have lived here my entire life and its been a great place to grow up!

    • @ameliegrace2456
      @ameliegrace2456 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @StriderCX 2nd everyone i've met has been friendly. Unfortunately, I cannot give you much context on it compared to other Aussie cities as i have lived in SA my entire life and have not exited the state. It's actually quite a large city for it's small population, and there are many towns about an hour out of the city as well as the metropolitan suburbs. It does not fell isolated, but everyone kinda knows everyone. The first question people will ask you when you meet them is "What school do you/did you go to" lol.
