for me oblivion will always be #1 the transition from the sewers to that beautiful green landscape with amazing graphics for the time was mindblowing and will always have a special place in my heart
I think Oblivion and Fallout 3 did better than Skyrim and Fallout 4 with that initial stepping into the world moment. With Oblivion you're in a dank sewer/dungeon for the tutorial and then you open out into such a contrast of beautiful greens blues and everything in between. Granted the map in Oblivion tends to mostly be those medieval fantasy fields and meadows, but when you first see it it's awe inspiring Fallout 3 has that lengthy but interesting tutorial in the vault as you grow up, and then when you finally get out in that door opens and the wasteland fades into view, that was another one where despite the fact that that is a much bleaker setting, I knew it was going to be filled with opportunity to explore. Otherwise one that stands out to me is still the original Dark Souls. Even though I still feel like it's not until you play a fair amount past the tutorial into the undead burg. But at a certain point you're on a bridge and you're able to look out and see everything off into the distance, and it gives you a foreshadowing of all the places you're going to eventually discover
@@desza2546 same. Instead they rehashed with Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Yes, we know Bethesda Softworks makes some great opening moments, but can you pick something else?
I really thought you build up this video to end with the most obvious one in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild but you just skipped it altogether :)
Yeahhh may not be as grand as some other ones that show a massive expansive world but the delivery and smooth transition from cutscene into gameplay is by far the best I've ever seen. Just started replaying it with the PC release and got the same massive grin on my face that I had the first time I got to that scene.

Disappointing you didn't have Breath of the Wild or Elden Ring on this list, especially since you covered multiple games from the same franchises.
I was expecting these to be #1 and #2
