very impressive how it takes just a little more energy to go 22knots than it does to go 4! (once you have lift off) still, the battery to store a whole kilowatt is not cheap!
Super, danke fürs Teilen! ...
50mile range = 80km; 20knots = 37kmh You get nearly 2 hours of continuous operation on a single charge going a quite fast 20 knots. I'd say that's rather good. Plus how much money you're saving with electricity rather than fuel.
@@Gino20202 Electric vehicles and boats are the fad right now. When that fades away then the real questions about performance will have to be answered. I predict two things: A lot more complexity in the controls for such cars and boats (by that I mean that the console on that boat is far too minimalist) and the re-addition of gasoline motors, effectively turning the vehicles into hybrids, with half as much battery and a traditional gas motor to constantly charge it at low RPMs.
Can’t wait to see something like this in the United States. On a bigger and more powerful scale of course with more noise and because you know murica’.
I realize that the C-8 is in production but I wonder if the design makes this craft top-heavy? Would having the two "legs" at an angle, away from the boat, provide greater stability in case of sudden turns, wind, or less-than-favorable waters?
One question about hydrofoil watercraft (and the C-7 in particular) I have not yet found the answer too is, is the maximum range of the C-7 achieved 'on the foil' or can it's 40kWh battery take it further at a much lower speed. If so, what speed?
if you compare the displacement kWh/NM its around .75, on the foil its slightly higher at around .85, so technically around 10% higher range as a displacement hull. you're giving up 400% more of your time to get there though
@@butstoughOK, but at what speed(s)? If you did 5kts, for example, not anywhere near fast enough to 'fly', what range (or kWh/Nm) would that result in?
yeah..now imagine putting solar panels and a fully equipped (birth accomodations, kitchenette, wet head) cabin on it...will do more then 20 knots for sure, maybe even cross the Atlantic
So far I've watched 5 of these hydrofoil videos and not a damn one of the designers is from the states. Too many restrictive regulations here, and most in the states with development potential are sitting at home not paying rent, and waiting for their next stimulus check...🤣😁
I searched for the price and found that this boat costs 240.000 €. That's disgustingly way too expensive! This is theft from the people! You say that you care for the enviroment... You only care for your poket!
Watch their other video where you see the guys working from a garage... this is not a rubber dinghi. Plus warranty if anything ever goes wrong while on water. Not saying that with thousands sold prices should go down.
This will make an awesome fishing boat since it's so quiet AND with no wake at all! Genius.
A presentation of candela-8 would be great. They made huge progress.
Very nice. I will test drive that out whenever I am in Austria
Really cool hydrofoil that you designed!
Thank you!
May you have financial success to reward your engineering brilliance.
Thanks!
Or be a good thief or con-man like most rich people who didn't inherit their money.
This is ingenious, bravo. 👏
I am totally sold on Candela graphite electric hydrofoil speed boats.
A bit late reply, but thank you!:)
very impressive! mini version for low water area's!
wow..so futuristic!
Always a good idea to untie the boat before turning on the engines. 100/100
The fifty mile range is way enough for us at the lake.

Instead of 'allowed', how about 'this is the natural evolution of boating, come join us!'...
Geiles Teil 👍
Good video. Excellent !!!
Awesome!
Brilliant

oh hang on, that's per nautical mile.
so you use the same energy to go the same distance but use it much faster
Let's design one with a cabin up to the keel. Success for you
Very nice.
Cooles Teil...
YEP
How is the front hydrofoil extended and retrieved.
With hydraulics. Enable CC. Its automatic (lazy douches) and has some.. awkwardness to it but you can still get the gist of it.
Geil das ist mal eine gute Erfindung
Turn on the motor? Or do you mean the batteries?

Awesome 👍🏻
mention cost . wanna buy
One percent battery usage per minute operation - better have a charging station always within range.

@@simplysimple4794 that’s not good at all. 2 hours is a very short amount of time.

I am guessing that wakesurfing would be a little difficult behind this boat.
marvelous boat. But i would be worried to use this in waters with not as clean of debris as this beautiful lake
Turn on the motor ?
Should be the only boat in Venice, Italy that is allowed to go over trolling speed.

The US had hydrofoil warships a long time ago
I think there are already in the San Francisco Bay.
How is the computer software updated?
Over the air, through the 3G connection.
Wonderful engineering. How do you put this on a trailer? Is it a special trailer design to account for the foils, or are the foils fully retractable?
The foils are fully retractable.
If you look at 3:57 you can see the pocket the foil tucks into.
Brauch man dafür nen Pilotenschein?
I'd like to see this boat with the usual 1m of wave on the mediterranean sea
I realize that the C-8 is in production but I wonder if the design makes this craft top-heavy? Would having the two "legs" at an angle, away from the boat, provide greater stability in case of sudden turns, wind, or less-than-favorable waters?
They may have provided for a gyro to auto correct for sudden turns and wind.
My question is, what happens when you hit a dolphin or whale or something on the surface
Something gets broken.
@bigredc222 yeah like your face LOL I don't know if I'd want to be in that thing if it hits something under the water

excellent drug running boat
How is the transducer mounted?

Need a fast small 2 seater =)
Looks dangerous all the stress on 3 legs what if one breaks or bends
Jaette bra!
Daily dose of internet
Always loved hydrofoil boats but they need to be retractable in order to make the boat useable for most people's situations.
No you don't.
They are fully retractable! Check out candelaspeedboat.com/candela-c-7
Hay guy can you send me the boat blue prints I like the design and I would like to build one like your boat it looks like it handles well
It's only good on calm water

This is unreal! I would love to be an investor, if you ever raise capital.
$300,000 US
So dumb, he literally said "let go of the gas" on a fully electric boat... Was he filming/taping also?
Schuhe abziehen beim einsteigen
du gibst Strom, nicht Gas, also Vollstrom.. Fliegen heißt abheben. du schwimmst nachwievor
“Letting go of the gas” is now an outdated term.
