Ein herrliches Boot , ich würde mir wünschen das eines Tages nur noch solche Boote auf Binnengewässern zugelassen sind. Neben solch einem Boot ist jedes laute sogenannte Sportboot ( Sport = je mehr Lärm desto besser ) einfach nur noch lächerlich .
Instead of 'allowed', how about 'this is the natural evolution of boating, come join us!'...
very impressive how it takes just a little more energy to go 22knots than it does to go 4! (once you have lift off) still, the battery to store a whole kilowatt is not cheap!

Always a good idea to untie the boat before turning on the engines. 100/100
One percent battery usage per minute operation - better have a charging station always within range.
50mile range = 80km; 20knots = 37kmh
You get nearly 2 hours of continuous operation on a single charge going a quite fast 20 knots. I'd say that's rather good. Plus how much money you're saving with electricity rather than fuel.
@@simplysimple4794 that’s not good at all. 2 hours is a very short amount of time.
@@Gino20202 Electric vehicles and boats are the fad right now. When that fades away then the real questions about performance will have to be answered. I predict two things: A lot more complexity in the controls for such cars and boats (by that I mean that the console on that boat is far too minimalist) and the re-addition of gasoline motors, effectively turning the vehicles into hybrids, with half as much battery and a traditional gas motor to constantly charge it at low RPMs.

How is the front hydrofoil extended and retrieved.
With hydraulics. Enable CC. Its automatic (lazy douches) and has some.. awkwardness to it but you can still get the gist of it.

Super, danke fürs Teilen! ... An dem elektrischen Geräusch, so wie es hier in dem Film rüberkommt, könnte man noch etwas arbeiten - in einem nächsten Schritt könnte das gegebenenfalls noch etwas leiser sein - und für Frauenohren auch noch etwas weniger technisch 'nach Küchenmaschine' klingen?
Kann nur beipflichten Deiner Fragestellung - und: kann ich's abschalten, das Geräusch, wenn man abends die Ruhe nicht stören will etwa?

The foils are fully retractable.
If you look at 3:57 you can see the pocket the foil tucks into.
I am guessing that wakesurfing would be a little difficult behind this boat.

I realize that the C-8 is in production but I wonder if the design makes this craft top-heavy? Would having the two "legs" at an angle, away from the boat, provide greater stability in case of sudden turns, wind, or less-than-favorable waters?
They may have provided for a gyro to auto correct for sudden turns and wind.
I'd like to see this boat with the usual 1m of wave on the mediterranean sea

Sehr schön und vergleichsweise umweltfreundlich. Aber wie reagiert der Foil auf Treibholz? Bei uns am Chiemsee liegen nach starken Regenfällen schon mal halbe Bäume im Wasser, die meistens auch recht schwer zu sehen sind. 👀 Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, daß die Konstruktion bei 30 kts eine Kollision mit Treibgut unbeschaded übersteht.

One question about hydrofoil watercraft (and the C-7 in particular) I have not yet found the answer too is, is the maximum range of the C-7 achieved 'on the foil' or can it's 40kWh battery take it further at a much lower speed. If so, what speed?
if you compare the displacement kWh/NM its around .75, on the foil its slightly higher at around .85, so technically around 10% higher range as a displacement hull. you're giving up 400% more of your time to get there though

yeah..now imagine putting solar panels and a fully equipped (birth accomodations, kitchenette, wet head) cabin on it...will do more then 20 knots for sure, maybe even cross the Atlantic

I searched for the price and found that this boat costs 240.000 €. That's disgustingly way too expensive! This is theft from the people! You say that you care for the enviroment... You only care for your poket!
Watch their other video where you see the guys working from a garage... this is not a rubber dinghi. Plus warranty if anything ever goes wrong while on water.
Not saying that with thousands sold prices should go down.
