    My only concern is the ever present debris that I have found over the years. You hope to see the debris but in real life this isn't the case. Being higher above the water will help for spotting . Still sooner or later you will find the water logged Simi floating tree trunk or branch/boards from docks etc.

    This is amazing, this is truly the future of electric Boating! Can't wait to see how this industry progresses over the next decade. Only thing preventing 99% of us from getting on is the $300k+ price tag. Currently you could get a brand new beautiful gas boat for a third of the price and use the rest to buy a corvette AND a down-payment on a house.

    A small pop up windmill, a folding solar panel, and starlink is all this needs for living off the "grid"!!
    Can't imagine how much better this space gets with further R&D, battery technology improvements, material science and manufacturing scalability! Really hoping this Tesla-esque business path(start with Roadster, then Model S, then mass-scale) goes the whole way!

    What kind of battery has it got in it? How big is it--length, beam? Is it trailerable? What's the displacement? What's the draft? What kind of chargers does it use--is that a CCS? How far can it go at cruising speed? What's the top speed? What's the cruising speed? Cool overview but would love to have seen more details.

    • @MADMAX7330
      @MADMAX7330 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@3DPeter I can see that happening for slow swellings of water where its got enough time to float up wave, but my gut says it would react fast enough to ride over choppy waters with the same clearance. I'm sure they'll test this out and have some solution, but yeah, would like to see how it does. Next one would be waves hitting laterally or sideways..

    "It’s not cheap, coming in at around €300,000, but then again, that’s the price of comparable premium gas-powered boats in this 28-29′ size class. So if you already have boat-buying money, then a boat like this might actually be in your budget."

    • @skyak4493
      @skyak4493 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Their previous smaller model cost about the same which seemed excessive, but the C8 is reasonable as long as you appreciate what it offers as "premium".
      If your idea of luxury is big and heavy you still might not be impressed.
      $300k for any carbon fiber 28' is not out of line. Candela gets my vote for putting all that tech to the best result.

    One of the main advantages of electric drive should be little engine noise. So why the background music when the boat is in motion? Is it really because the boat is much noisier than the marketing would like to pretend. What is the music hiding?

  • @snafu6548

    Hydrofoils would not work in my territory because there is so much deadwood/fishing nets,/wildlife in the water with you. Hit any of that and I bet those foils would rip right off (ka-ching), not to mention possible fines for any damages you cause.
