I bought a CHEAP, ABANDONED Audi S3 8L! Whats the catch?? Copart UK Salvage yard!

- Hi guys, whilst i'm waiting for some parts and cutting compound for the RS3 I came across this on Copart UK Auto auction. It all seems too good to be true! So I bought it to find out! Lets see if its a steal or a wrecked, salvage mess.

Cam belt water pump and drop all the fluids,this will clean up nice.
An S3 8l with a working LCD display very rare
the top lines are a little faded
Mines useless in the daytime
Easy to fix anyway.
Mine still works spot on.
it's a really common problem, but mine is still perfect
So many of these are crashed or written off parts won't be an issue. And phone around little known scrapyard in your area to source parts my brother bought a whole interior for a BMW X5 2007 plate airbags door cards centre console dash seats even the parcel shelf for £300 that was an absolute steal.. Tried roping me into changing it all over I kindly declined and continued watching TH-cam 😂 😂

I get alot of positive comments on my s3 8l, on a 51plate, 80k on clock and always serviced af Stafford audi main dealer, I paid 6 times the price you paid for yours mind you lol, but then it is in show condition outside, inside and underneath has no rust or signs of any coming on any panels or any under body components, i was lucky to find one garaged all its life and never used in the winter months, I have 4 little stone chips on the bonnet/bumper and no dinks or dents, no wear at all inside,not even on the buttons on the dash and the pixels all perfect on the dash, shame I cant upload some pics for you to see, the folder of receipts is large enough to need it's own drawer in the house, mines in very shiny red which looks fabulous
The rust on the roof for a supposedly galvanised car is horredous 😳
check the timing belt wheel which is on the crankshaft fixed with a screw. mine was worn out and it sliped a few mm from right to left, which made it seem like the timing of the engine was of around 1-2 teeth from the timing chain.
very annoying and very hard to detect.
Looks a great find mate up to now got to watch part 2 yet 😂 as you can see by my profile picture I didn't go down the RS3 so picked myself up a BMW m135i 👌

Lovely car these s3's. Nice place to sit and 300hp on stock rods ain't bad going. Pretty cheap, nice bit of luxury and power. Always had a soft spot for these

What a bargain! I’d say the roof rust is going to be the worst part to sort looking at it.
Never drove s3 but driven s4 and RS6 both older ones, loved em, horsed them to there tops, it all as long time ago now/ 2004/2005

Me too! Before I started the channel i took a punt on a Golf R non runner. Luckily it was just the clutch that had blown up. New clutch and it was perfect.
Had one for about 5 years... silver... was very reliable but rust and body issues let them down as they age...
S3 looks clean, and worse case there’s about 300 BAM engined TT on eBay being broken 😂👍🏻 they tune well to 300bhp 👍🏻👌🏻

Saving Salvage it would, but that looks absolutely standard and unmolested, quite a rare thing! I’d keep it as is and make it mint 👌🏻
Nice bargain could just be the starter motor and have a flat battery I would go through the engine first change the oil check water all the belts battery plugs check cylinder compression change the coil packs change the thermostat check all pipes for cracks and leaks charge battery if it's dead turn ignition on plug in a scan tool check for fault codes :)

working at the dealers isn’t as glamorous as people think still tech what you doing know and how do you juggle this with family and work? Big respect 💯🤝
no it is not, just like working at a normal garage but we got all the special tools, software and access to the information. I run a transport business and its tough! which is why videos are not as regular as i would like. But i'm trying :)
if the car seats for over a year most likely the ac wouldnt work, as a car dealer some car which hasnt been started in 25 days lost its ac where I had the car for six month with ac working
If you were looking for a deal there is a real RS3 8P with the seats and rear window stolen on there this week.
Probally cus the timing belt was due.
I did this I'm no way near mechanically minded I bought a vw golf mk4 20v T for £ 80 had numerous things wrong with it so iv just ripped to bits and upgraded everything so easy to work on be on the road soon with double the HP stripped out semi slicks spent 1300 ish on it so far including buying the car and most of it is new

I've got a k04 toyosports 3 inch downpipe and decat for sale for 110 quid.... Never used and comes with all gaskets etc😉

@@SavingSalvage that's what I said about my TT😖 spent 2.5k getting it handling right and changing all the common stuff before it goes and it's booked in for Forging 😂 silly potential for these engines... Can easily see 380/400hp for sub 5k in mods

Hi mate any idea where I can source a xenon headlight for my s3 8l, the drivers side has smashed and its proving really hard to find a new or used one

Mines show condition and I paid 6k for mine but it is literally show condition, been garaged all its life and been serviced by audi since new with 18 invoices to back it all up, it's just hit 81k on the clock and has wanted for nothing its whole life

@@corriec4978 100% mate, already hard to find decent untouched examples, it took me 8 months and 14 viewings before finding my mint example, the 3k cars are sheds that need money putting into them, good s3 will be 4k and original show cars are 5-7k, they are already rising in value and now most are turning 20+ year old so becoming more classic each year, it's the original s3 too there was no tuned a3 before this model, you will always get someone wanting to pay nothing for a car and value everything at zero, but theres lots of people who appreciate that these sort of cars are only going up and will invest in them for good money, I've had mine 2 years and it's not once let me down, now if I had bought one for 2k and not 6k I bet I would of spent a fortune putting the car right

@@davidbradley3982 Here in Italy as well pal, but you should not been be mesmerized by "1.8T" only, because 1781cc Turbo 20 V of A3 8L (150 HP: AGU, AQA, ARX, ARZ, AUM; 180 HP: APP, AJQ, ARY, AUQ) are very different than S3 8L' ones (210 HP: APY, AMK: 225 HP: BAM) not for the power only sure. In addition, many stuffs are very different like brakes, suspensions, interior, etc., and take into account that it is the very first S3, the only real one that made the history (8P S3 and 8P S3 S line are near exterior identical...), so it will have a huge revaluation during next years. I did this statement for the M3 E46 just 4/5 years ago but people laughed a lot, albeit they cost more than 35k Euro nowadays...

Yep, the 210 is the AMK engines which is the pre facelift. This is the BAM engine. Which is 225.

These cars are starting to fetch money again now, they hit rock bottom a few years ago, I've seen some shady crap for sale at 3k so tidy this girl up and 4k wont be far out, mines done 80k absolutely mint and I mean mint with full Stafford audi history and I've been offered 8k for it a few times now by serious people who understand investments
