- Limited Run Games' release of D: The Collector's Edition has CHEAP burned discs instead of pressed discs. How did they allow this to happen?

Also, I checked, and my purchase date was February 4th, 2023. The confirmation email says, "If you pre-ordered a Collector’s Edition, it may take 8-9 months after the pre-order period ends to finish production." As did the page for the game, which they've only just now taken down. Here it is on the Internet Archive: web.archive.org/web/20230331231958/limitedrungames.com/products/d-the-game-collectors-edition-3do
The package shipped April 18th and arrived to me on April 25th. The pre-order period actually ended March 5th, 2023. That's... 410 days, vs. their longest estimate of 9 months (approx. 270 days). It took them just about 51% longer to ship it, if my math is right. One could argue that "finishing production" does not mean shipping out. Still, a bit odd. I'm not familiar with how well LRG hits their deadlines, though.
Scammers for sure.
I bought the space invaders release for switch for my wife, took so long I thought I'd been ripped off. But great release.
Bought the first ever LRG release for ps5 (Cthulu saves Christmas, I believe it was) bought two, one to play, one for investment.
Played fine, must have been printed.
But, due to the lack of communication, the slow speed and delivering over half a year later than promised, the controversy over the sacking of an employee because of (well you know what it was allegedly for) and this blatant abuse of the perceived 'buy to never open and resell for a profit' culture... That's too far.
I will smile as they go under
I find it hilarious that they actually pressed the soundtrack disc. They said pressing 3DO discs would pose "reliability" issues, but we all know the reliability of CD-Rs. Firmly believe this was a cost cutting measure and it bit them.
Yeah, it's a bit odd, really. It released after their longest estimate, so I can somewhat believe they ran into some sort of issues. If I had to guess, maybe whoever was supposed to press the discs raised their prices. Hard to say.
Me too: "I don't want a refund. I just want my game!"
Thumb tacs easier and dafery
Please PLEASE stop supporting them... after the DOOM classics I thought people were gonna stop buying their stuff
