Woke up 3 am this morning. What better to do than watch a new gear review by Tony? lol
**** Ok so I did some research on this brand and surely they have a complete line of guitar amps and things that I was unaware of. Also after watching other videos and breakdown of the controls and features I can honestly now admit that for what you get the asking price seems more attractive and it really does have a lot on it.....even a drum machine-wow.Also the more I research this darn little thing the more I want one now even @ the NEW asking price! 😏

I've had this amp for a month now. The worst thing about it was getting my hands on one. In Germany they have been sold out since they were published. They seem to have problems with manufacturing or something. I finally found one for 160 € at a music shop that sells mostly classical music stuff :)
I love it! I play it way more than my Katana mkii 50. The tones you can get out of this thing are insane. Took me some time but I now have a nice David Gilmoure Pulse tone. The Plexi is amazing, so is the Friedemann simulation. And I love the wirelessness!
I did have some issues with some of the effects not working. That was remidied by updating the device. Still have some issues with some interference being picked up by the transmitter every now and then.
The only major gripe I have is, that you have 4 PREDEFINED CHANNELS (you can't pick a jazzmaster on the OD channel for example). I for example hardl, use the AG Sim but I would need two clean channels (glassy clean and a muffy dirt). If NUX would give us the possibility to save more presets this amp would be PERFECT!

Perhaps my expectations are out of line. Consistent with a lot of digital/Modelling guitar gear my initial reaction to using this unit is more or less the same. Sounds on either end of the spectrum are ok. Meaning clean and high gain. However those of us old schoolers that use the volume and tone knobs on our guitar to provide sounds and playing dynamics are likely to be disappointed. Particularly if you play on the edge of breakup and push your amp to get your driven sound. The Plexi sound is middle of the road ok but lacks the character and response you get from the real deal. The effects are useful to get a generally somewhat pleasing sound, but rolling off the volume and tone just lacks. These skills on the guitar in my view ought to be part of the practice regimen. Pedal happy folks who play between patches etc. Probably wont mind. Comparably I have a 1 watt Marshall with a single drive pedal and an emulated tape echo and VU>X can’t touch the tone or feel. Further the voicing of the speaker cab in annoying and there is little to be done correctively to get a single sound that can provide a warm clean tone and move into a singing lead tone and deliver pleasing even order harmonics playing driven chords. This is not to suggest the unit does not deliver as advertised. It pretty much does. However, if you as a guitarist admire the tones of rock era sounds and are unfamiliar tactically with the approach I describe, you may greatly benefit by researching this.

Solid points. To be honest, I’ve been somewhat frustrated in my efforts to move into the digital guitar world. Probably good to keep that in mind if I decide to go ahead and get this little amp. It does look like a lot of fun though. One thing I’m curious about…what does VU>X mean?
@@renodavid No idea what the acronym or whatever it is means ;-). I have since moved on from this. What I use is far more costly, but all together more pleasing on every level. Low wattage Marshall (20 watts) and a Fryette Power station (reverb and echo in the fryette loop)

Unfortunately the app is crap! It just works on some android versions (e.g. got it running on 6 and 8) but not in others (e.g. on 10 it always asks to enable GPS, while this is already on). On some resolution, the first two tabs are so far shifted to the right, that they are unusable. I'll send it back for the blackstar fly 3...
Sorry to hear that it has issues with android phones. I didn't have any issues on my Iphone.
@@addictedtogear Yes, seems to be bound to android versions... unfortunately many people report this problem in playstore.
Almost 200 bucks though seems a tad over priced imo.
Do you have a similar cheaper proposal?

Tim, Nux also offers smaller versions as well as the Mighty Plug. Check out my video on that. It sounds great if you don't need the speaker and prefer to play with headphones on.
