This is the latest version of the NUX Desktop Amplifier and it's a little beast. It can be used as an amp or audio interface for direct recording! What a killer little amp and you can save plenty of your favorite sounds. Super cool!

what an incredibly useful little amp, especially for recording...
congratulations also on your playing Shane...its great how well you are able to cover so many different genres of musical style so well...your videos are top shelf....thanks again for being there....
The best review of the device I've seen on TH-cam!
Thank you Shane, you are the man I go to for honest reviews. This won't be the first piece of kit I buy thanks to your review. I always enjoy your soulful playing of course too.
We are in a renaissance and we don't even know it! So much new capability in so many different areas of life!
Sounds pretty good to me ,even through the speaker. I'm sure your playing has improved by about 60% during this year, Shane.
I’ve seen this little amp before in stores but I might actually check it out now❤
Very Cool, Thankyou Shane. Looks like an awesome Little desktop Amp with plenty of Options. Although I still have my Joyo Jam Buddy amp still working perfectly (Which is re-chargeable, which may be a missed opportunity by NUX here) I may need to get one of these for all the sound Options available, and clean up my 'desk workspace'. All the best, Cheers.
Just got this amp yesterday and was surprised with how good the tones are. Less bass due to size but I actually prefer the amp models on this compared to my micro cube and mooer hornet. Best amp of this tiny size I've ever played.
I'm liking the dedicated amp models and effects on the MkII Shane. Maybe enough to make me want to get the new one LOL. We'll see.
I've got the Mk1 and generally use it at the desk for practice when I'm learning songs. But I've been taking it on the road the last few times I've been away and fits in the bag quite nicely. I generally run it on batteries although this time around, somehow being in my away bag, it's turned itself on and flattened the batteries LOL. Would be good if it had a manual power cutout on the input jack to stop this. And looks like the MKII would have the same issue.
Other than that, its a fantastic little amp for going away with because of its size.
Great demo! i heard thunderkiss 65, haha, i use them riffs when testing gear too
The Mk1 version is my go to practice amp. Small, convenient, bluetooth, batteries or power bank. It was already a very useful piece of gear...
I always look at those little amps as being kinda like toys, but I love the clarity of this Nux.
It's so insane how it can be used as an audio interface as well. The direct tones are as good as processors 10x the price.
@@intheblues yes. I think my focusrite interface was nearly 250 USD
Shane, great review. It sounds incredible but if you've got a set of studio monitors, would a NUX MG300 be a better solution for a few more bucks?
Just bought one today. Thanks, Shane
Good or nah?
@@carlosnoriega7296 It's definitely useable. Only drawback is that the volume automatically increases when you change modes.
There are 2 of these amps. There is the nux mighty light that has hardly no effects. & there this one mk11 that has all the effects. And the sellers charge the same money. Just to help people. Good video
Yeah man, technology in these little amps is crazy. Most certainly sounds good for a very small desktop amp. However, that guitar with the humbuckers & tortoiseshell pick guard sounds like it could stand to be intonated. Nice review though!
NU-X is making some GREAT stuff the past 5-6 years!
Does NOT sound like a little plastic box at all! \m/
Would love it if you'd take a look at the larger Nux amps - the mighty 20 or 40 mkiis!
The Mark 1 is a great unit. This one looks awesome. I'd like to see a direct comparison.
Thanx for the great video. That is a great review of the amp. I own it, and pretty new to the electric guitar scene. So, I tried the exact same settings you showed. My guitar didn't sound ANYTHING like your guitar...Why do you think it is?
Wow you make the amp sound really good. I got one a couple months ago and hated it. I was using the wireless connection that came with it. I'll have to try it with a cable. Also, nice to see a lefty on TH-cam.
Was yours the Mighty Lite or the Mighty Air?? Looking at both of them, but read the one in this video is more full sounding with the larger speaker over the duel stereo speakers of the mighty air??
@@AudioAddictionzThe Mighty Air
It sounds pretty good (although a little high end) through the miked speaker. But how did it actually sound to your ear in the room? I also see it has a headphone jack, which I presume cuts out the speaker. Did you try that, and did it sound good and/or better than the speaker?
Shane, the direct interface, what editing software does it have or recommend?
I'm boggled how NU-X do it at the price they do, TBH. I have half a dozen bits of kit from them, including my wireless setup, and it's all excellent.
I’ve got the drive core pedal, and the mighty headphone amp and they are fantastic.
If NuX were better known, the Spark Mini wouldn't have had a chance at launch!
@@cchavez248hahaha! I've got a spark mini!!
Also got a Nu-X looper, drum pedal.. that's gd value!
The secret is being a Chinese company.
Yep! Like a mob of components in the device you're using, the car you drive.. pretty much anything electrical.
Even todays point to point amps will have some Chinese componentry.
Thanks for the review. For a desktop practice amp give me three amps, tuner, drum machine, and a looper.
I get unpleasant sounds when I turn off my hand while overloading, what is it?
Wonderful tool.
Have the Mk1 and have used it every day for a year. Does it all 9/10 imho.
The speaker isn't capturing the brightness of the strings ringing. Turning up the treble only helps some of the frequencies.
Could we say this is a type of "mighty plug pro" with a speaker? Is the headphone our as good as the one in the Mighty Plug?
I like this brand. I have their headphone amplifier. Nux Mighty Plug. Quite an interesting little thing, if you approach it wisely. ;)
Sounds great. :)
Hi, do you know what are the differences between MK1 and MK2? Sorry I'm strugglin' to find this info out. Thanks!
Does this device support when use together with other padals like Nux mg 30
I think I've found my new practice amp.
Hi, great video. But, lets say you want to Connect it to a PA via 3.5mm headphone?
Just to use the benefits of the app/sounds.
/ Ola
You could do that for sure. Just run the headphone out to the Mixer :)
That's impressive!
Nice little practice amp
What a step up from a Pignose.
Love this amp, but I'm good ....for now. Have the NUX Horseman and it's a great Klon clone. Great time for inexpensive gear.
Cool! I was thinking maybe a Spark Go but I'm thinking this instead. Thanks for the review!
I recommend the spark go I got one for 2 of my kids and got this for myself and wish I had gotten the spark go
How do I use the app? Like can I just buy the amp, plug my guitar in, download the app and then what happens?
Then you lose.
The USB is just for firmware updates and recording or desktop app if there is one. It's not for power so says the online manual.
You can power it via that port.
@@intheblues really? Hmm... the manual for the BT Lite MKII doesn't mention that. The manual for the 8BT MKII actually says you can't? For power it only mentions the AC adapter and batteries. For the port it only mentions recording and firmware and editor. It's good though if it does because them one could use a rechargeable USB power pack instead of AA batteries. Thanks for the tip.
what's the source of the speaker clipping?
It's volume. if you have it too loud you can hear some clipping.
Anyone used it for a gig? Of course with some cabinet? If possible at least
Pretty versatile amp, much better than the Blackstar fly
Sounds way bigger than I expected.
That's because it's mike'd close, stand back a few feet and it sounds tiny just like any amp with tiny speakers.
@@cmet8280 That's not what I was referring to. I'm quite familiar with how amps are mic'd up for recording.
Seems NUX is giving Positive Grid a go at the SparkGO! My favorite thang to listen demo on TH-cam is my SparkGO. Would love a side-by-side comparison.
I was hopeful it was sub $100 Aussie.. 😮
NO chance! Shane really SHOULD display AU prices seeing it is on the AU market!
22:04
@@djangle67The headliner is where I would have expected it to say Aussie $, not buried in the video. Nothing wrong with what Shane did, however being an Aussie watching an Aussie channel my default is to think Aussie $$$$. I suppose Shane is catering for his global audience and $150 does not look that good in the Title.
No way Is this under $100.It’s like $154.55.Check the pricing.
So it even works with backward guitars? 🤣
it looks crap like a cheap plakky toy they need to work on that
*Disgusting sound. There is no tube emulation at all*
Sounds like a plastic box.
Clip clip clip! flipping hell bro... telesales galore... inthegear more like... yawn
Cya!
