      Hi Inkblizzard. I play in a praise band as well. Can you tell me more about the looper? Is that to get the sound into a bigger amp to enable you to play live for an audience in a church? I like this practice amp a lot and want to now how to get this thing amplified to say like 150watts or more.

    I’m a good enough guitarist so that looks perfect for short trips and picnics. And the sound from those tiny drivers is impressive even if not ear splittingly loud, that’s what big amps are fo yo 🤘🏽

    Looking at the lite version. The price is much much cheaper and I don't like the built in rechargeable battery. I mean, it will die at some point. Better to be able to replace the batteries. The built in wireless also, I just think that the price difference allows you to buy a wireless system if you want that. Here in Australia, it is cheaper to buy a separate wireless system, and of course that can be used with any amp. Also, the wireless unit has a battery that won't last.So I can buy those features and add them to the Lite version, and the price is still lower. Plus, I am just learning, so I don't need to worry so much about sound differences. The lite is already a very good unit. Any savings I make, I can put towards the next amp.

      @CatPickStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I haven't tried the THR10 so I can't really compare. I don't even know the features of it. All I can say is that the Mighty Air is a lot of fun and it also works great as a bluetooth speaker.

  • @GUIDESPERSPECTIVE
    @GUIDESPERSPECTIVE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Since there is no USB out to record to a computer interface or DAW can the line out for headphones work with an adapter? If you have headphones in does it mute the amp or is there volume control for both the amp and headphone out to balance for recording?
    I don't mind recording with microphones on the amp and that is not my main purpose for this amp but I do record on the go with my Ipad and a small interface for my portable setup which is what this would be.
    Can I use other modeling apps like Bias FX and the riff that i got from Positive Grid for my spark with this?

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm pretty sure putting headphones in does mute amp's speakers. But as you mentioned, you could use the headphone out with an adapter to record. That's how I recorded the audio for my NUX Mighty Plug demo for example with great results. I think this way you would most likely achieve better sound quality anyway than micing up a tiny amp.
      Not sure what you mean with using Bias FX and other apps, but basically you can use the amp as a speaker for anything. Just set it up as a Bluetooth speaker and it should play anything.

    • @GUIDESPERSPECTIVE
      @GUIDESPERSPECTIVE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CatPickStudios Thanks for the reply. I bought one the day after I wrote my question.
      The charging port USB out to my Computer showed up in my Daw. Super easy to record that way.
      I don't have a patch cable where I am. I am traveling so as soon as I get a cable I will try playing through my Riff and see if I can use those tones
      Bias FX is on my phone, and I use it when I am home with my spark. It's Positive grids software. A bazillion tones and beyond. Such an amazing app and so easy to customize, experiment and switch things up.
      So far after 2 days I am so impressed with this little guy. I am on the road for six months travelling and it fit in my gig bag perfectly. The app is not bad, but after using Bias Fx I hope to get it dialed in to use with this. If I can get my positive grid riff working with this too, that would just be the ultimate portable set up for traveling.
      Thanks again for the reply. And thanks for the great content.

    Great review! But how about latency between playing on the guitar and hearing it on the amp? I read somewhere that wireless transmission will not overcome the latency problem.

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Tbh I didn't pay any attention to the latency, which means it's very small. I'm usually very sensitive about this stuff and I struggle to play if there's a lot of latency going on. Obviously there is a tiny bit of latency going on but as I said, it's barely noticeable and you get used to it very quickly.

    • @bluegrassmagee8697

    • @AxemanMessiah
      @AxemanMessiah 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guardianobserver6593 Yeah the Air is really unique in that sense. Fully wireless without even a 1/4 inch cable, under 3lb, and uses USBC to charge! I still love my Plug as it is even more portable and can practice without hesitation at night. The Plug is far cheaper and uses the same DSP as the Air, and you can use an Aux cable to connect into a speaker that is larger than the Air to get a more full sound when you really want to play. Overall you can't go wrong with either though, and I love the Plug and Air way more than the Yamaha THR10, Boss Katana, and Positive Grid Spark which I owned and sold.

      Hmm I probably do it this way: Guitar -> Cable into looper -> Wireless send unit from the looper. This way you would be tied to your looper with a cable but it would allow you to place the amp where ever you want. Going fully wireless would require you to have another wireless unit. :)

    Hey Vlad, great review, thank you! I had a couple of questions that maybe you can help with (if you have any access to the manufacturer's resources?). First, do you know when this unit will be available in the United States? Second, do you know of any Bluetooth pedals / footswitches that can work with it? I found one review from a big box retailer in the US where someone is using AirTurn BT200S-6 ( store.airturn.com/products/airturn-bt200s-6 ) with their Yamaha THR. I wonder if this or similar unit will work with this amp app. It seems like all of the mini amps are missing this ability / option.

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, fellow Vlad! I'm afraid I don't know about US availability, my guess is that the current Covid situation has delayed the US release. Check out Reverb if some US stores already have it?
      I've also haven't heard anything about using a bluetooth controller with the amp. Now what you say it, it could actually make a lot of sense. At least you might be able to switch between the channels. I don't have any controllers at my studios, so I'm afraid I can't test it. :/

Paid $80 for the NUX and $40 for the Tribit...got me a sweet little mobile set-up. I hardly even use my THR10 anymore because I really like the convenience of using my phone to operate everything with the NUX. And placing the speaker at distance opens up the acoustics in a very natural way. The NUX is a great product, for me though...it just needed a little more power.
