My primary doctor failed me! Because she never noticed, I recently went to a occupational health for an physical for a new job and a random doctor looked at me and was concerned and told me to follow up with my primary doctor to get a thyroid ultrasound, come to find out I have four!! I dont drink alcohol. I'm not on hormone therapy. And I don't take birth control. I also do not eat junk food. I have a hot nodule on my thyroid.

Me too. Mine always feels hot to the touch, and painful. Ultrasound said 3cm multi-nodule ; she recommended surgery to my doctor. But my bloods came back normal. I can swallow, eat, breathe but my voice is husky.
I'm waiting (4 months time, UK. NHS) to see a specialist. I'm scared and unsure.
I do not want surgery. I have cinnamon on my porridge, i put ginger & turmeric , garlic, onion in my food regularly. 🌱

Hyperthyroid here.I had problem with thyroid first 19 yrs ago ,I found a small nodule and I took tyroxine for 9 months after that I went hypo.I left it like that till now and Now I have a big nodule 2,8 and another one big on the same side but on top ,on left side another one and multiple nodules around the neck.TSH normal but 2,16 Ft4, (0.0-2.00)Now they sent me to do another blood test to check FT3.I search on youtube and dr's are saying what this dr said ,to take Curcumin , Spirulina and Boswellia serrata.I found a product that contain all of this products.Also I found that some people said is effective to put castor oil hot packs on my neck once a day for 30 min or an hour.Also another dr said to take L Carnitine that will stop the hormone to penetrate and destroy the cells and L-carnitine may help prevent or reduce symptoms of an overactive thyroid, such as insomnia, nervousness, heart palpitations, and tremors.I also have problem with oxalates and don't know if I can take curcumin because contain oxalates.Wish you all the best !

MY diet for the 86 years I have lived was terrible. I have NO symptoms and am in perfect health and 5-11 at 163# except......... Dr Vivek, you didn't mention couple more reasons of thyroid nodules growth. First - it's a toxicity of pituitary gland which we have to detoxicate on the cellular level before even start cleansing and healing process for thyroid gland itself. And second - overproduction of estrogen, especially at women before or/and after menopause. After 50 most of us (ladies) have that annoying medical condition called estrogen dominance. So before even start doing all those healing procedures with medicinal herbs and supplements we have to decrease level of bad estrogen first. And guess what we could use to clean out pituitary gland with (our center of commands for thyroid)? New Zealand grass-fed bovine (beef organs) in capsules. Sounds weird but it is helping me so far. Can you talk about how iron deficiency and anemia affects thyroid. I have a uterine fibroid causing severe bleeding and am severely iron deficient. I am pretty sure this has caused my thyroid nodules. I have started a nutritarian diet and am supplementing with iron and wakame.

They say that at least 65% of the population have nodules in their thyroid glands. If just dietary choices accounted for their presence, wouldn't the rate be much lower?
