    For everyone complaining about the number of players on the ice, consider this. Watch the video at .25 speed. At the beginning you have Keumper and Byram. Byram passes to Lehkonen. Freeze the video at 00:03, you see Lehkonen and 3 other Avs players for 4 on screen plus Byram in the defensive zone (off screen) for a total of 5. You see 3 Bolts players skating into the play, one just about to get to the bench and one so far from the bench he hasn't cleared the Avs bench or the red line, for a total of 5 players. Now stop it at 00:04 and you see the Avs player right at the wall to get on the bench and the 2 (TWO!) Bolts players in the defensive zone. Totals: 6 Avs (5 in the play and one getting on the bench) and 7 Bolts (5 in the play, one getting on the bench and one in no man's land). I'll leave your conclusions to you the reader.......

    • @aurorasstorm5877

      Do you suppose this is what Cooper was speaking of on his little rant he decided he was going to stop speaking about suddenly? Said he would talk about it tomorrow since he's to upset to right now?
      If this is what he's speaking of it wouldn't make any sense unless he failed to count how many players he had on the ice at the time?
      I've watched, and re watched and you can see clearly that they are changing so that doesn't really bother me, can't see it bothering Cooper either, so the only other thing he could be speaking of is the goal itself.
      Maybe he believes it went in from above through the mesh? Even that makes no sense though when you watch the replay and you can clearly follow the puck from stick to back of the net and see how it got there.
      If it was something to do with offiside why didn't he challenge? Although it wasn't offside so I've run out of things he could be speaking of?
      Anyone else get any vibes as to what Cooper was on about?

    • @YourMachines
      @YourMachines 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Rooting for Avs but this was too many men. Landeskog and MacKinnon change with Lehkonen and Kadri. Both Lehkonen and Kadri touch the puck but MacKinnon is still on the ice. Doesn't matter if MacKinnon is close to the bench, his sub can't touch the puck til he's completely off. Regardless, missed calls happen. Avs deserved this one.

      That’s accurate. And all during a bench change. Although the rule demands they be within a certain distance of the bench and provided the puck doesn’t touch the changing player(s), it’s all legal
      As for some of the wayward players, this is often subjectively overlooked in games as long as they don’t touch the puck. The refs know they’re exhausted coming off and they can barely skate or lift their tail bone through the door or over the boards

AM34 is the 1C, and if coaching/management in Toronto got Kadri to stop his playoff antics like the Avs did, he’d be the perfect 2C behind Matthews at a much lower price. Yes, Kadri is up for a new contract this summer, but Tavares only declines. Idk about you, but as a hockey fan, I would take 4 years of AM34 and Kadri as my 1-2 punch rather than Tavares. Im 6 years older than him. We both played AAA junior London knights when he was just a little kid, but he was on AAA team that was younger than mine. If he wins the cup, it will come to London. I've had his back for years and years and I can't be more proud of him, honestly. Almost brought tears to my eyes seeing him get the OT winner tonight.

    Hard to see with the angle, but it does look like it was probably a missed too many men. At 0:04 you can see an Avs player is still going to the bench and about 3-4 feet away, but the other 5 players are very much in the play at mid ice. So if you had a better angle the player going to the bench was probably at least 6-7 feet away when they jumped on. Oh well.
    Update, after seeing the newer angles, Kadri was already on the ice when McKinnon was still at center ice. It wasn’t even close.
