How about Helm, again, very involved in a series clinching play. 4th line has been absolutely impressive, O'Connor has been giving it 110%, Cogliano has already been injured and possibly again with a blocked shot, Helm with a Clinching goal against the Blues and a critical face-off win resulting in an OT goal to clinch. Burakovsky laying his body on the line multiple times, E. Johnson play some of his best hockey right now, and the stars; MacKinnon, Rantanen with crucial goals, and Makar with 5 points tonight, 9 points in this series as a defenseman. Almost every single cog is moving for the Avs machine so far these playoffs.

I'm amazed at how many people blame 1) a high stick, or 2) Mike Smith for the Oilers not making the cup finals. People, your team just got dominated. Even if it's called a high stick the Avs were still the more likely team to score in OT. And Mike Smith is certainly not the NHL's best goalie but it would help if you didn't get outshot 2-1. Oilers played awesome and it was a great series but the Avs were unquestionably the better team.

@@cjjj4028 We have not seen a real best-against-best tournament since 2014, so we can not say who is better. Number of hockey players is the same in Finland and Sweden, still Sweden has over 100 players in NHL, Finland 60. Yes, that does not say the truth, because it only takes 20+ to make a team. Finland does well in U20, way better than Sweden, so I guess it comes to Finnish hard nosed work ethic and tradition of great goalies.

Craig Simpson is clueless, the crossbar reference is if it goes directly in to the net. This is a "knocked down with high stick" call that refers to a puck contacted by a stick above the players shoulders that then goes directly to a teammate or to the player himself. The replay angle @1:39 shows it was at the shoulders but not definitively above and since it was then shot into the net legally by the player the height in relation to the crossbar is irrelevant.
