    I feel like dramatic classic is so much easier for me to do in fall and winter but in summer it’s a lot harder for me. I feel way less inspired without my blazer 😂 do you think you could do a summer video for dramatic classic?

    • @thealignedlover

      I totally agree! DC and jackets are a match made in heaven. And yes, more casual, summer and spring looks for all the types are coming soon :)

      You can create sharp tailored lines with cute linen dresses. Tailored shorts. Anyway this is supposedly my body type and I get compliments on outfits that deviate far from this.

    This is the first video I've found which directly mentions Parisian chic as being very DC - I'm just glad I wasn't crazy for thinking so, and no longer have to wonder why I'm so drawn to all those Pinterest boards!
    I think the advice to lean into what looks good on your type is a good one, as these looks really are far from casual by most standards but if you get the right fabrics any are wearable and comfortable for any season. We just need to give up looking like messy slobs, that's all (because that looks good on others but not on us) lol

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      yay, i'm glad you see it too! sometimes i feel quite wary of using such comparisons because i don't want to give the impression that a type needs to dress in a certain aesthetic, but this style just really screamed tailored chic!

    I love your videos. Your analysis is so helpful,
    I’m a DC and casual is the most difficult look for our type. I’ve been told that I always look dressed up but standard casual looks are terrible on my body type. V neck tees are my kryptonite!

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So glad you find it helpful! Yes, the general level of casual dress in our modern times is definitely not for everyone! And ditto on the V neck tees!

    I was 14 and it was winters at that time when I was supposed to go to a friend's house (particularly my crush's) for a school group project (I was the leader) and I was like now's my time to make a good impression! I took out these b&w cow print jeans from my closet along with a deep violet (like really deep deep purple violet) furry turtleneck and put them on, along with that I also added a cool cherry red blazer to finish the look (I'm cringing so bad as I picture the end result istg-) and I was so satisfied and happy with what I came up with that I quickly put up my hair I'm a sleek high ponytail and grabbed my stuff and left. I remember people turning their heads to look at me and I honestly will never know if they liked it or I was a bit too much for their eyes but I felt confident (incase you're wondering I caught my crush's attention as well-). Thinking back to the outfit I came up with and fast-forward to all the kibbe blackhole surfing I've done, I realised I did sort of managed to pull off the DC look (if we please please disregard the colours & cow prints...) But just like the overall look and angles, silhouettes & shit. I'm low-key proud and high-key embarassed to think I went out dressed like that. Just wanted to share it cuz I find it cute and funny as well as painful and maybe someone would have a good laugh at my fashion sense as a 14 year old 😂😂

    Would love more on contemporary DC fashion! It’s hard sometimes to dress in a fun way when everything looks best when it’s clean. I usually love to play with pastels, it sort of makes it more fun.

    You have such a gift for describing the attributes of the different types. As a soft classic I find casual looks the hardest to do because I generally end up looking dressier than I intended. I think once waist emphasis is added to an outfit it tends to make an outfit look less casual, but without it I feel frumpy. I am really enjoying all of your videos.

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you for doing a video on Dramatic Classics! I feel Classics are neglected on TH-cam so I get excited every time you post a Classic vid :)
    To me, I would call the outfits in this video professional or business casual. As a Dramatic Classic myself, I struggle to put together casual outfits (my workplace is a jeans and T shirt kind of vibe) that don't look sloppy but don't take tons and tons of effort. Can you do a video on casual casual outfits for Dramatic Classics?

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I adore every ID and am so glad I can provide some love for the Classics :) and yes, I totally see what you mean. I did tailor the looks to be a bit more polished but I can definitely do a very casual version as well 💕

      Hmm I feel as DCs we can't really go more casual than Nona showed in this vid haha. We can, but we won't look as harmonious. The only thing I can think of is showing a little more skin with crop tops will make it a little more casual. Just make sure you keep the balance and clean lines Nona talks about :)

  • @AutumnC22
    @AutumnC22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    These look up my alley. I am still torn between dramatic classic and soft dramatic, but these clothes look more my style than SD clothes. I do think the SD makeup looks better on me though. I tried the DC makeup and it looked pretty bad, very sever. I think I have enough softness in my face that I have to account for it.

    Hello Nona, would you say that french style or parisian style could be 1 representation of dramatic classic ?
    By the way, i like your original approach of the kibbe system with your series especially the mannerism ones. You're doing a good job to let people be familiar on archetypes.

    • @thealignedlover

    As a DC I'm not sure about the crisp shoulders - they look a bit D or FN to me? But I like the other suggestions!

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      In his book he suggests it for DC's but this was back in the 80's where shoulder pads were more promiment. I think many DCs look great with sharp crisp shoulders, as do Dramatics. I think FN looks better with broad shoulders, but not necessarily as crisp. :]

    • @user-zr1vn9nl8r
      @user-zr1vn9nl8r 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nona DB oh really, it’s interesting that it’s the same as D. I would’ve thought slightly less sharp. I could just be a classic leaning DC :)

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think most of the Yang influenced types are better off with the strong shoulder emphasis (dressing as a "T"), but the Dramatics look better without the waist emphasis and fare better with a continuous line whereas the DC looks much more natural with that tucking in at the middle. But of course, these crisp shoulders aren't for everyone and if you don't feel good in them I say to skip them :)

    Would you do a video on how to successfully borrow style elements you adore that are ‘best suited’ to other body classifications without looking separate.
    For example; I am Soft Classic and I live for understated refined sophistication
    (my cardigan collection rivals Taylor Swift’s) but I also adore the chic tailored accuracy of Dramatic Classic
    (popping my navy Balmain blazer over ANYTHING makes me feel invincible) or the femme fatale féminité of a Theatrical Romantic
    (long, long hair à la Rapunzel, is when I feel my most feminine).
    How many “out of type” elements can i.e. Soft Classic pull off before looking too separate. Is it better to “deviate” with fashion or beauty elements?
    I know I rambled, I was just trying to make it make sense typed out.
    Thanks 🙏🏾

    I can pull off FG outfits but I'm 5'5.5. Until today, I identified as FG but I realized that I might be a DC instead because of my height. I am petite so, it's confusing to hear the generalization that DCs can't be petite.

    • @thealignedlover
      @thealignedlover  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      DCs can be petite in height but they don’t look super petite if that makes sense. I think your height is also in the FG range. :)
