Did you even bother testing the HDMI for specs and USB ports for transfer speeds? Most docs, hubs, and dongles are lying about specs and I’m blown away that you didn’t’ test or show us any test results….. Pretty disappointed.

Steam deck has an option which automatically mount the drives on startup, no need to switch to desktop manually,
There are ways to let your deck mount the drive automatically without having to go to desktop mode every time.
How do you do that?

I'm using that JSAUX m.2 model with a 2tb drive and a 1tb internal drive in the Steam Deck.
Got both split evenly down the middle between SteamOS and Win11 and seriously... the flexibility it gives in the whole setup is crazy, if a little overkill.
With the official steam deck dock, the company that makes the dock will only let you buy one at a time, a friend of mine bought all the stuff that you can get for there steam deck last year before the steam deck was released. He also has 16 bit external hard drives for the steam deck and has been installing many different types of games from different games systems on the steam deck.

Dont buy the official steam deck dock, not only is it expensive but also the USB ports are known to randomly stop working for no reason

When playing docked there is a huge controller lag. Anyone experienced this? Anyone has suggestions on how to fix?
Might vary based on controller and display. I've found it works well with hardwired controllers, if you want to minimise lag.
I've used my Xbox series x controller via bluetooth there was lag but if you can just play wired
Wired worked much better. For sure.
if it's hooked up to a tv, try enabling "game mode" in the tv's settings. It greatly reduces the lag on my samsung tv

Never buy the original steam deck dock, you will never be able to get it to work on your TV. It almost killed my steam deck as well. DO NOT BUY THE ORIGINAL DOCK

Yeah for every external port, there lies an internal portion as well. There wasn’t any room for them. You’d have to make the deck huge and clunky for that.
The official dock just kept returning white noise or green screen. Had to constantly reboot. Gave up in the end and got jsaux dock. Love it.
Does any of those have fast charging where the Steam Deck light turns white instead of orange? Because if not, don't bother.

You aren’t great at being critical about these products, and with things being cheaper and much better than you have shown on Amazon, there is no reason to continue watching this video further than the official valve dock. Thanks for the useless video.

They're all the same.
Some have maybe one port more/less, some have additional option - decide if that is worth more and buy the cheapest one.

really annoys me that you dont provide any links.
The Official Steam Deck Dock is a pos. The HDMI interface is bad and forces resets for the display to transmit. It also bugs out the Deck and is incredibly overpriced. You're better off with a standard dock. Love these try it once or twice and render judgement, type videos.

what ever one fits your needs and budget... the steam deck works with 3rd party docks great but you need a windows pc to update the firmware while the official dock will update when you have your steam deck docked.
None of them, the company's customer service is terrible and the product is buggy as hell.

The Steam Deck is trying so hard to be a Nintendo Switch. Valve should just quit making handhelds after this and go back to making games because there is no way any company can make a handheld that can beat Nintendo.

You do know what a handheld is don't you? Handheld ≠ Switch. Switch's main gimmick is the hybrid nature of it and this is quite literally just a usb C to HDMI.
