  • Any cold water surfer knows the pain of drying your gear, particularly through the winter months when the neoprene is thick and the weather is cold and wet! Here's how I dry my boots the fast way, whilst doing anything that will degrade the neoprene.

I repurposed a hair drier by taking it apart & removing the heating element so it only blows air. Not as quick as some of the set ups from others that can dry boots, gloves & even wetsuits all at once but it works.

That sounds like a pretty impressive setup! Although I’m not sure how much I like the sound of water an electricity being in that close vicinity 😬

Get some HDPE / alkathene pipe and cut it into 60cm lengths which you then attach vertically onto a block of wood to make a hanger / rack, then sit the block of wood in a plastic bucket. You can then place your wetsuit boots upside down on the pipe ends. Make four pipes if you wear wetsuit gloves. I do this as soon as i get home and find there is no need for wetsuit shampoos etc.

I made a boot and glove dryer from a project fan and some ABS pipe, no more smell. I posted a video a while back on my channel.

@@Touheyy it's not fancy but it works well. This is not the most efficient way of building it but it can give you an idea how to do it th-cam.com/video/6W0qDwoYT0g/w-d-xo.html

quick question....im usually in a scenario where im around muddy areas, and my question is how do i wash my boots ...do i use detergent or soap...im new at the neoprene world

hiker85 canada good question, I have a lot of mud around where I surf too, so also have to deal with this. If it's anything like my stuff, the mud sits mainly on the surface? I both rub this part and spray it directly with a hose to encourage it off the suit. Do not use regular detergent though, you can buy special wetsuit shampoo if you want - although it's not a necessity! I will actually be doing a file to wash wetsuits video soon, which will cover all of this, so keep an eye out 🙂 ✌️

Cliff Keller cheers for the feedback dude 👍❤️. Pretty old vid now. I’d like to think production has improved over the last year. I’m sure you’ll tell me if you happen to stumble across a vid in the future 😉✌️
