I never knew the channel before. But from what I've seen, these are some of the most poignant interviews I think I've ever seen. I can imagine what sort of channel it must have been like, and to think of what must have happened for that change to take place. It would have needed a total overhaul of the channel, and potentially some or all of the staff. I wouldn't imagine somebody who does memes for a living would come up with very good interview questions for well... any of these people. But I'm generalizing and that's not to say it's not possible. Maybe they were a smart person and just couldn't get a better job than making memes? Who knows. But I don't want to judge. Especially without any context.
What an absolute gentleman. Proper killed me when he said “Iv got a 10 year old son and Iv never seen him” I couldnt imagine not being able to see my children.
Hats off. Absolute warrior. Thank you for telling your story. Ladbible, please don't sell out. One of the only channels remaining in this day and age producing content that is worthy of being broadcast to the general public. The interviewers know how to ask real questions and the interviewees have stories and answers worthy of telling. Thank you.
"The heroes are the ones who come back in a box". Damn.. But dude, if you or any other veteran sees this comment, YOU are a hero too. Absolutely, just heartbreaking! He’s had so much trauma in his life. have nothing but respect for this man. I love how he said that he has a good life and he’s a success. Amazing
the emotion from this interview is surreal; and if Paul is strong enough to come back on another show then bring him in to tell us of his exploits since leaving the military and how he overcome them. Climbing and running the unthinkable if you had lost your sight through such an experience he's an aspiration.
I've never heard any story told by anyone about any foster home on this planet where there wasn't abuse. I know some decent prisons and couple of nice asylums, but I've never heard of a safe, loving foster home. That says a lot about us.
There are a lot of them, look up stories and videos on TH-cam of foster parents surprising their kids with official adoptions and the kids being so happy they cry. You gotta go seek it put but it's there. I know the systems got massive issues but please don't take away from the very many good foster homes
The strongest men and women are not the ones capable of bench-pressing 250kg or lifting half a car, it is people like him that never give up, no matter what happens in life. Lad, I am looking forward to seeing you in the news for having won the first ever Olympic title in blind-boxing and bring up all the other persons in the same situation as you in the spotlight. Good luck.
I have a feeling I sat across from this gentleman on a train a few years ago. He had said he lost his sight in Afghanistan and was still learning to adapt - despite the sadness he was very chatty and was making jokes. He had a support person with him that he teased playfully - he said he would pick up every item in a shop and ask what it was despite the fact he knew it was different/the same item. I could be wrong as it was so long ago but I remember that he was just such a wholesome and lovely person and I have never forgotten him.
Paul - you said just just one thing wrong in this whole interview. You absolutely are a hero. In every sense of the word. Thank you for you you've done and given to the world. I am sure there is more to come!
I Understand you don't feel like a hero, nor want to be a hero, but I can tell you this from the bottom of my heart. You are a hero to me. My grandad was in WW2 and never spoke about his time, other than to me, the stories of courage always fascinated me. Your story does the same. Not in some horrible Macabre way, but in a way that I feel useless and powerless, to turn back the time, and be made of the courage you are, to have been along side men like yourself. I thank you, from the bottom of my heart and I wish you the most amazing journey forward with your wife and amazing son. You are his hero as well, you may not know it, or feel it yet, but there will be times when he needs a man like you around and you will be there. He might have saved you, but you will be his hero when he is old enough to understand what an incredible bloke you are. All the best mate.
This man is unbelievable. He exudes strength from every single pore. I wish him all the luck of this world, he deserves it. So much to learn from guys like him.

The toughest men were the ones fighting him.
He fights everyday. I don't. Not comfortable to think about tbh. Massive respect for the man.

Not a person to usually comment but this hero got me. Hats off to you sir.
Wow. Mind blowing interview - what a strong and inspiring guy!. It makes you realise how lucky you are and for some of the things that are taken for granted.

This man is an absolute hero. Not for his time in service, for the way he has carried himself since the injury. So brave. All respect sir

Solid lad. What a man. Respect from Taiwan.
Many of us are born to land hard, but few stand up like this lad. The mental and physical strength needed to endure and to keep on going is beyond. Hope to see him on Everest one day!
I am in awe of this man
From Coma to Talking. Respect and love. 😢❤️😢

"I got a good life. It's just made a little more difficult"
Mate, legend 💙
"Heroes are the ones, that come back in a box". Extremely touching quote
So so much respect for this man.💙had to come back after months, very touching. I think it’s an important thing to take on board when Paul says about not judging people.

We're so lucky to have men like this in the world, who came into it with no luck of their own.
We need to help these vets more. This trend of veterans with terrible PTSD being left alone and isolated has to change, it’s saddening.
What an incredible man.
Heavy shit! This man is a hero in my book!
Thank you for your service 🙏
