I've been carrying a Nitecore P12 for 5yrs and I'd love to try one of Olight's new lights but I've grown accustomed to the tailswitch and can't find one with it. I like to carry my light in my left front so my rights open for other things and with a tailswitch I can draw and activate the light fast with no fumbling. There's been a few times over the years that the fast draw/activation of the P12 has been a godsend in diffusing a situation with nothing more than a flashlight!!! It's amazing the way 950 lumens in the face and a strong vocal tone will make someone stop dead in their tracks and reconsider their actions. I like the tailswitch it works for me and I'm not moving away from it but these new Olight's are sweet.
I would prefer they just advertise it as a 300 to 400 lumens light with a turbo to 1000 . It's a awesome light ..I bought one and love it.. Beat carry light IMHO.. But it's good on its own merits. The lumens boasting reminds me of megapixel crap with cameras.. It means very little.. Quality is everything
Great review! I carry the Smini for edc or a manker E14. But if I carry a smaller light, I have a medium or large light in my bag, because the small battery can only hold a small amount of charge in it.
@@stargaming601 came in took quite a while I had a problem where sometimes wouldn’t turn on but that was when it was cold but it stoped had it for quite a while now never had any more problems ever since it’s a good light got 2 more lights from them for free well 5 bucks just for shipping so can’t complain!
Regarding the charging cable...is the S1R II compatible with other designs Olight has offered and are other designs compatible with this charger? As it stands, I have special charging cables for my PL-Mini Valkyrie, others for my M2R, and finally one for my R50, and none are cross compatible.
Hey Kurt. This will work with the non-special ones. Same here. The R50 plug is too big and the Valkyrie is “special”. It’ll work with the normal ones. www.screencast.com/t/Oefevcij4
Yeah. Even 7 is a bit long for my taste. I like to fit it to 5-6, but that’s challenging sometimes. Did you see there’s a limited edition that goes on sale at midnight? th-cam.com/video/dkPlD9lV-qY/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching.
NICE...I GOT A COPPER ONE THAT I'M PLANNING KEEP SEALED...BUT AFTER SEEING THIS VIDEO..I'M TEMPTED TO JUST ORDER ANOTHER ONE FOR A USER!! I'LL DEF BE ORDERING THE TITANIUM ONE TOMORROW!! THESE ARE KOOL LIGHTS AND I JUST SEE THEM BECOMING MORE POPULAR WITH EVERYDAY PEOPLE!!
Activation while in a pocket is my PRIMARY reason for NOT EDC'ing flashlights with Side Switches! The rotating pocket clip was the ONLY reason I considered carrying older Olights. And NO... a Lockout function is NOT an equal alternative to being able to cover a side switch with the clip. I can rotate a clip with the same hand that activates my light, without having to remember some lockout release sequence, under a possible moment of high stress.
@@BenJamin-ou7kd ive gotten quite curious about the s1 r2 baton, so i actually bought one hahahahaha, and i must say im very suprised and you're right! It is very portable, it fits in my pockets, so till now its my new edc!
DoubleTap That’s just when the thermal protection kicks in and it levels down. That’s not when it consumes the battery. You won’t find many this small that do better for this price.
On my S1 and S2, I used epoxy ('glue') to make the clip stay 180 degrees away from the button, which makes finding the button very quick & easy.
The crickets and rain almost put me to sleep. Love it! ha ha
Thanks Mark

Tailswitches are the best.
Olight m2t has tail switch with turbo first function.

Just bought a seeker 2 pro but sadly they said it will be be shipped within 2 weeks which is disappointing but still hype for it
how did it turn out?

From what I have found it uses regular cr123a batteries too, only difference you cant charge them.

Thanks for having a 7 minute review on this flashlight. I do not understand some of these TH-camrs and their 14+ minute reviews on a damn flashlight.

HarleyWood I did! That’s why I watched your video. I was able to get one. Can’t wait to use to it.
@@HarleyWood23 yeah they had a flash sale on in Australia so I bought one. Great little flashlight.

Don’t order the winter one, it is so warm, and also just 850 lumens
Agree. I love the color of the body. I don’t care for the color-temp of the light
Good Stuff!!! Thank you!!!
I really wish you'd demo the modes and interface for those of us who are coming to Olight from other brands.
Fair point. I’ve had Olights for so long, I forget that sometimes.
Nice review! I'm thinking that I might have to buy one... to go along with my recently purchased SMini Baton CU, and S2R Baton II. Lol!

The s1r 2 does have a lockout
Can you go straight to turbo mode with just a double click?
yep
HarleyWood nice! Thank you

do nebo torchy review, 1000 lumens
