That Desert Tan Seeker 2 Pro is my favorite flashlight. But, if I had to choose between these 2 on a camping trip, I would want the longer run times of the Seeker 2 Amateur Edition :)
i think the new seeker 2 pro, doesn't come with Cree LED any more. I can't find anywhere on their site that stated that they're using Cree. If they did, they would have posted in that info.
From what I've seen Olight are mostly now saying which LED's they are using, it's been like that for a while now. Strange isn't it, but the company is a bit strange in my experience!

Thanks for this Mr Baz. Regarding the contact point in the tail cap: if using own custom batteries, what is the name of the part need so that there is a good contact point ? Is that called "magnetic spider" ? Where can I get these ? Thanks !
Great review on both of these lights! Not sure if you’ve got a review with one of these comparing them with a Surefire or not but if you did I’d be interested to know what your opinion is! Thanks again for this great review
@@ashurmartinez5453 I've not looked at many tactical lights for a while, but I do have a JetBeam JET 3ms coming in, that has 320m range and is tactical looks decent enough
@@MrBazReviews thanks, very good review videos. I think I will get the Seeker 2 PRO due to wider beam. I will use the light for longer distance only ocassionally.
@@MrBazReviews yes maybe. its my first Olight. I would Prefer at least a magnetic charger with usbc end. so I can charge it on my usbc only powerbank without an usbc to usba adapter. and charging with usbc also would be mich faster.
@@Pfanny Type C is taking off but I don't expect type A to disappear either it's been around for so long, perhaps they could do a type C and give you an adapter for the type A best solution. Lot of computer/other ports still have type A
Sorry wrong comment! aka chargers Erm no they are not cheap probably too expensive for some, fun yes would I buy them? Hmm not likely myself but I an notorious for being broke ;-) I have a Russian light in soon that is $40 might be nice will have it I hope next week!
That is one plus point, for me not really enough differences between them so at normal price the non pro makes more sense (IMO that is) But I have seen the Pro on sale too
They probably won't as they have so many, as I say though I'm completely against custom cells it's a cash cow to lock people into buying overpriced proprietary batteries. There is a reason Olight don't send me products, it's because they can't stand any negative feedback on their torches - sorry but to me it is a downside. You can see the wave of Olight pretend reviews out there, which are little more than adverts. I'd rather give honest real feedback, shame so many others don't. I don't care much I have other products to look at, I would never buy a custom battery torch that cannot accept normal cells.

Going to be buying the seeker 2 pro tonight during the flash sale. Thanks for the great video and demonstration of the different modes in use!
Glad it was helpful!

another great review and comparison Mr Baz, thanks mate !
I try hopefully it was useful ;-D

My favorite (Seeker 2 Pro) in a matte midnight blue would be awesome!
Yeah I quite like blue myself something different
Mr Baz Reviews I’m dying for that DT seeker 2 pro but alas lost my job and can’t afford one. You can send me that one I’ll further the review 😉

So, since I have the seeker 2 I probably don't need the pro version?? From what I see there is not a big difference.
Not really

Magnetic spacer, I got some off eBay they have them listed in quite a few places
@@MrBazReviews Spot on. Thanks !
By the way I got the Seeker 2. Don´t see any feature in the Pro version justifying the price difference.

No way for me to get hold of Surefire products that's the problem so I work with what I have access to
Does the 2A charger charge the pro faster ?
A bit but it doesn't get to 2A
@@MrBazReviews And the M2R Pro gets to 2A? Thanks for the info
@@lowammo Just over 1.8A for the Warrior Pro you'll get similar speeds on the Seeker 2 with the cable it's not quite 2A

Glass cover on these

Please advise me of a long range hunting torch?? Thank you heaps mate
Tricky one if you want different colours ie red or green light? Usually the tactical torches are the ones to go for the range, ie over 300 metres

Am after just a normal white colour, but don’t know which brand and model to buy? Do you recommend any kind of torch?

Hi Mr. Baz, I love your reviews,, so informative and very high quality vidoes. I hope you will review the new olight m2r pro.
I am away at the moment, but I might be able to get it to look at. Olight were in touch, I can't make any videos right now as I'm abroad.
Hi, Which to choose Seeker 2, Seeker 2 PRO or M2R? Thanks
Choice is yours I have done videos on all of them
@@MrBazReviews thanks, very good review videos. I think I will get the Seeker 2 PRO due to wider beam. I will use the light for longer distance only ocassionally.
@@danijelduronjic4433 See how it works out they are all nice just some work better for each person
@@MrBazReviews just one additional question: is turbo mode available only with +75% battery level?
Choose neither. Once they discontinue the custom battery it becomes a $120 paper weight.
can we charge olight batteries with other charger?
Most of the custom ones no, you have to add a spacer on top as it doesn't stick out enough
i prefer seeker 2 because is cheaper and i don't need wall charger and holster and the seeker 2 has better runtimes
I agree

What was name of the last song please? Some epic desert stuff !
Desert caravan I think in the YT song list
Sad that there is no usbc charger till now
