It's the same reason why the Doctor was able to create a 2nd Tardis after the Toymaker was defeated. After one of these "Pantheon" entities is defeated, their energy lingers for a bit. "You get a prize, honey!"
This is the most amazing episode ending for a long time, the music has chords that fits the giggle, the lyrics "I think this song will never end" matching the universe finally releasing all this "music energy" for so long and the harbinger just watching (which i think it proves the universe releasing the "music energy"), seriously it's an amazing piece of art and I'm so happy Doctor Who is exploring more surrealistic situations and the fragility of reality, space and time.
Idk yall. I loved this. It was delightfully silly and whimsical, and tons of fun. The song could’ve been better but I certainly didn’t see this coming. Much like life itself: Shit Happens! Get Used to it or Go home!
While you might be wondering what the twist in question actually is, at 2:45 we can clearly see Harbinger lurking in the background, still alive and very much not poofed into oblivion. Anyone else think he might be coming back alongside other members of the pantheon?
Doctor Who's always been a stand-out because it's been at least a bit silly. For me, one of the parts that made Chibnall's run of DW so poor in quality was that it never embraced that small bit of silliness expect in small MCU-esque quips. It having a big budget and that tang of silliness just makes it much more Who-y for me.
I honestly don’t hate the fact that the show is going in this direction… but let’s be honest, if you went back in time and told hardcore Doctor Who fans that THIS is what the show will eventually become, they’d think you’re insane 😂 Honestly though this era is already a lot more entertaining than Chibnall’s era, and that’s why I’m still watching. While it definitely is not afraid of showing that it’s now owned by Disney, it’s definitely got a lot of heart. I haven’t had this much fun watching an episode of Doctor Who for a few years.
If I had a nickel every time Doctor Who released a proper brilliant song I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice right?
Less well known: the brief shot of the pianist is a cameo by Murray Gold, the composer of this song (and Goblin Song) and all original incidental music throughout the RTD and Moffat eras (plus arrange of the title theme).
This is fun and upbeat but it gives me an Erie feeling. Why are they dancing and singing and how is the zebra crossing making noises? I’m thinking that either the toy maker or someone else just as if not more powerful is influencing the doctor without him catching on. Also can someone explain to me who that little kid is who closes the door during the song????
Music disappeared from existence slowly and then returned ALL AT ONCE. Pretty sure the Abbey Road crossing playing a little Ragtime Music is just a side-effect.
Space babies was cute shut up, plus it’s probably foreshadowing (it was all about the Doctor being both an orphan AND a parent. I’m hoping Susan Twist is his granddaughter).
Thos is such a banger and I wont change my mind. It was meant to be an upbeat lively song to celebrate the return of music and a hint for the rest of season.

I've really enjoyed the first 2 episodes from the new series Doctor Who. I really love this song from Devil's Cord. Seeing Shirley Ballas and Johannes Radebe from Strictly come Dancing was the best bit from the song. 2:01 - 2:20
Has anyone noticed the board? Chris waites and the carollers? It wouldnt have anything ro do with the one who waits and the carolling at the church now would it?
The entire number is the twist. First, because you don't expect a Doctor Who episode to end on a musical number. Second, because they're all dancing. They're "doing the twist".
Disneys Once Upon A Time have done this Emma had a hidden song in her heart that protected her put there by her mother when she came up against her enemies & even kills her most dangerous foe with the hidden song. This is not a new concept ... Sorry
If the song had been good I'd have been all in for this, I love a great musical number. Writing great catchy songs is not easy, I wish they'd switched to licensing and arranging something like "Twist and Shout" which was re-recorded by the Beatles in those very sessions.
The tune's fun, but, as with The Goblin Song, the lyrics leave much to be desired (cases in point from that song: "Eat with our teeth, deter than beef" and "He's the Goblin King, yes, the Goblin King, he's not a myth, he's an actual thing").
The thing with musical numbers is they kinda have to be earned and they didn’t really earn this. Also there normally needs to be a point to it there was no point to this musical number, it didn’t have any deeper meaning they just wanted a musical number so they added it. The episode was fun but it lacked the part that makes it doctor who. It was to much Magic not enough science which can work in some situations but didn’t really work here. Atleast every actor involved gave a phenomenal performance which is probably what saves the episode from just being bad for me. And don’t get me wrong I do like having some camp in my doctor who but it works best when you ground it into a some form of reality. Like it worked with the toymaker because he still had some rules in which he followed and a reasonable level of chaotic energy, but the maestro kinda felt jumbled like they didn’t know what direction to take them in. At times they were cold and calculated and other times it felt like a child throwing a tantrum it felt like two separate characters
The best musical episode of a TV show and/or series was the "Once More, with Feeling" episode of Buffy by Joss Whedon. Every song in "Once More, with Feeling" had a purpose and revealed important things that various characters were feeling. The songs were also actually very good, though some of the actors on Buffy, like Sarah Michelle Gellar, were not singers and had somewhat weak singing voices. The best fictional musical with the best original songs, was "Bombshell" the fictional Marilyn Monroe musical from the TV show "Smash". I love musicals. I was really hoping that I would like this one from this clip. But, the song just wasn't my cup of tea. They probably did want it to sound like it came out of the 60s. The dance choreography was good, though. I liked the Doctor's and Ruby's dancing.
@@rainymoon9848 The song itself wasn’t bad it just felt out of place and kinda pinned onto the episode. personally I was hoping the episode was gonna be more like “Subspace Rhapsody” from Star Trek Strange New Worlds
What? When Ruby played her theme it brought so much spirit back to the human race, visually shown in the episode, and having had all that potential locked away by Maestro, when they were sealed away music needed to come back the same way
I will not hate on Doctor Who for having a black Doctor and a trans villain. I actually think they both did amazing and I love the representation. Something knew tjat does work if you get your head out your ass and 2005
Ahh... you clearly missed the Land of Fiction. And the original Toymaker story. Powers have intruded upon reality, remember. And reality is a bit stranger, because of it.
@@spiralx6249 Yeh, as in it sucks. The Doctor would of turned it back to normal.
@@Remake5182 - the Doctor, in the end, is only one Time Lord. Reality is a much bigger thing.
The twist is this ain't doctor who
Rubbish
Well that sums up how terrible Dr who has become

really hating this song and dance element that seems to be a fixture in Dr Who these days.
When Dr Who gets Disneyfied! - EVEN the toy maker couldn’t do this amount of damage! 😮 - RIP Dr Who! 😢
All it needs is a dancing half-painted Myrka and the humiliation is complete.
This is atrociously bad. I couldn’t believe I was watching it.
Music is held back for decades then released it makes sense it come out as a big burst, have some fun with it, lyrics could of been a bit better but the show is still good
