The Danner & Chippewa are easily found at your local Boot Barn for an Affordable Price.
The JK Boots, I went to their Redding, Ca location to have them fitted & customized to my foot.

Took me back to highschool with the random “FOCUS” 🤣
HAHAHA!!! That just made my day
Great advice got some whites for this season. The break in time is long and painful for those as well! Stay safe brother
What's Up Charles! Whites definitely are tough to break in. I appreciate that Brother, see you out there this year.
@@Conquering_Tyler should I get The Chippewas because high school kid with not a lot of money ?
@@emmanuelawosusi3276 Yes that will work
@@Conquering_Tyler thanks what type of Chippewa boot did you use for that season ?
@@emmanuelawosusi3276 There's only one type you can get while at Boot Barn
I'm gonna be out of the chico office, through firestorm. Hope to see you out there. Stay safe broham. Your vids help me choose a jk boot for sure
I've had my nicks hotshots n whites smoke jumper lace to toe boots for many fire seasons n they never let me down
Solid Boot Setup/Combo
Love the boot help bud. I was fighting my head what boots to get. I would love to see what gear you carry and bring for camp during a long shift for wildland firefighting. Thanks again. 😊 🤘
I really appreciate this Kyle, great idea & I'll work on that for one of the upcoming videos! Thanks Brother
And the JK boots take a while to make tho? Like once you order them how long till there ready and shipped?
I didn't want to chance them not fitting correctly so I've always gone In Store to get my JK's & settle for the stocked colors they have in.
I was going to have last seasons boots Re-Soled & they said a 5 week turnaround was Avg.
For the danners tactical wildland boots. Is the size true to fit or bigger or smaller? As well if I wear custom insoles do I still with my 13 wide or go with 14 wide?
I've owned 2 Pairs, my first pair fit like a glove. This year's pair is the same Style but for some reason fit so snug it low key hurts after a few hours in.
I've never put Insoles in my Danners but I'd suggest staying with your normal size to avoid excess "Slippage"
@@Conquering_Tyler you have a lot of experience so do you think a pair of danners will last me thru the rest of thus fire season from about August to December? Then I can order the JK boots since I'll be in redding for the fire season.
Do a review on best laces i.e. kevlar vs leather. (Diamond laces, iron laces etc)
What's up Kirk, that's a great idea. I've got a another boot Review coming up so I'll make sure to talk about laces & soles. Appreciate you Brother
I'm a new apprenticing/owner cobbler of a boot repair shop (Whitcombe ReBooted) in Placerville Ca. So I'm looking for feedback on customer experience with kevlar, Paracord, and leather boot laces! Then I will start selling best brand name of "quality" laces at my shop! I sell Danner and Whites boots and repair customer boots!
@@kirkwhitcombe7615 Nooooo Way!! That's soo bad ass, I'm with El Dorado & I'll have to come by your shop soon! I give you my word, I'll talk about these laces. Let me know how I can support you & what you do
thanks for the great information
Thanks for the Support
Can I wear a strap boot with wildland firefighting lug sole ? they are not nfpa certified
@@emmanuelawosusi3276 If you get caught wearing NON Approved boots, you will kicked off the Line.
@@Conquering_Tyler thanks for the advice I will be careful
@@Conquering_Tyler thanks for the information
I am headed up to Redding to visit JK. Post an update on how you like them.
They're going to take good care of you, that's actually a great idea. I'll post an update soon. See you out there Brother
@@Conquering_Tyler I am so happy I drove up. Pulled the trigger and could not be happier and got some off the shelf. So my combo is my new JK’s and Haix Missoula 2.1’s
@@bajamedic That's a solid Combo Brother!! I've been secretly lookin at the Haix, they look comfy AF & I might have to follow your lead & give that a try! Thanks for the update & I'm glad you're all good to go
I purchased 2 sets of Haix. I cannot complain.
I wish I could get up to JK. I average 2 sets of boots a season. The Missoula 2.1 are so comfortable. The laces have held up so far but I keep an extra set. Great video review.
That intro😂
Got advice I'm on my 2 season as a type 2 I just got nicks I don't know if nicks are good brand
Nicks, White's, and JKs it all comes down to personal preference. All three have the same design philosophy. And all three have custom fit options.
Nick's are solid! It truly is about preference & what you find comfortable! I remember at first I hated my JK's but now it's all I wear!
Well Said, thanks for the input 👍
Thank you
i heard that those black Danner boots are garbage , i had to buy them last second because the fire academy is right around the corner for me , i might use them for a fire season after the academy though .
What's up Beast, I would agree that they're an "OK" entry level boot & you'll really only get a season out of them. As far as Comfort & Break In process, this is where this Boot makes up for its OK quality. Slay your season & I'll see you out there
You heard right. I didn’t know any better and bought Danner boots last season. They broke first month into fire season and melted parts of the sole while stepping on heat spots.
Glad I found your video!
Apparently can't get wildland boots in Wyoming boot barn.
recomadation for the cheap ,but quality boot for wildland firefighting ?
Can't go wrong with Danners
@@Conquering_Tyler are they resoleable
I would like a boot that cheap ,but resoleable ?
@@emmanuelawosusi3276 No
@@emmanuelawosusi3276 Go with JK Boots. Hit them up & let them know I sent you
what kind of Chippewa are they?
What's up Saul, I don't know the exact "Model/Style" but I got these at Boot Barn & they were the only ones there at the time
What makes them not compliable?
I'm doing a Cal Fire Academy and I bought the Danners. Hiking with weight everyday and breaking these bad boys in🔥🔥🔥
I apologize for the late response, how's the academy life treating you Bud?
Don't talk about me moma
🤣🤣 My Bad
1:49 "if you get caught wearing these you will get busted" is not what you want to hear in a boot review and the fact you ignored the safety regulations doesn't say much about you. Are you still firefighting? You'll be in line for a few snap inspections if anyone saw this. And what about the socks? You've got nothing to say about those? Bro, your credentials look a bit flimsy...
this video would have better without the childish little comments. aren't you a grownup?
