The EJ neck is verry cool. It start of with a soft V shape like a '57 Strat and then changes about half way up the neck to more of a C shape like the '62 Strat. Also the EJ Strat is a 12" radius with medium jumbo frets which will give it more playability.
I've played a lot of Strats; American Standard, American Deluxe, American Vintage, Custom Shop....but the Eric Johnson Strat is by far the best I've played.
Dude, you have to say the guitar characteristics correctly: It's a one piece quarter saw maple neck, not a separated maple fingerboard; the pick-ups are alnico V and made by Eric's specifications; the wood comes with a thin skin nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Everyone who likes vintage strats, the EJ model is the best axe. Even better than a real vintage.
Happened on your comment about the Eric Johnson Fender Stratocaster. I agree with you! Yes, I've owned this guitar for some time and it's a very fine Stratocaster.
I believe all the bound neck ones have a rosewood fingerboard. It's all a personal preference rosewood sounds a little smoother and maple is a little brighter.
Andy summers always balanced his sound out well playing the bridge pickup on a strat and telecaster - Michael Landau has done the same . Eric’s bridge pickup is perfect and it’s wired to the tone knob so its a nice fat sound when the gain is turned up
@dj0431 We are out of stock but we do have one on order. We sale it for $1689.99 with case and free shipping if your not out of the country at nstuffmusic.
I only have one question before I buy it, what is that neck feel like? I love what Vintage 62 stra's neck feel, does EJ Stra feels like that or thicker? I really love thin neck, just like 62. Thanks
Yes but you would be responsible for the shipping and we only except bank transfer as payment. If your interested email me your address at nstuff music.
I own 2 custom shop Gibsons, 2 CS teles, an explorer, and the EJ Strat is my favorite guitar. if you're a Strat man I don't think it can be beat. Also, I think Mark actually gets aroused hearing himself play haha (no offense) like your videos man.
I love this guys playing, such tasteful licks.

C necks suck
I tried of these at a local guitar center and I was impressed, the best strat I have ever played

Michael Frank-Braun pickups are in this signature strat I believe.

Only the bridge pickup is alnico V, the neck and middle are alnico 3.
You can buy the pick ups seperately, they run from 180-200 dollars.
looking forward for your next demo whatever that is!
He did that right after the introduction of the guitar and specifications.

the guitar of my dreams...
Undeniably so!
such a nice demonstration of one of my favorite guitars!
It would be nice to hear the bridge position with some treble rolled off... the bridge pickup tone on most Strats is pretty nasty played clean.

Awesome playing!! Beautiful sounds :)
This Guitar sounds great with a Germanium based Distortion or Fuzz pedal. Like the MXR Distortion +. Plus a good Wah pedal.
Awesome guitar, great review!!!
is this a demo of the guitar or the pedals, read the guitar spec and give the correct info out

the pickups hum-canceling ? smil dimarzio virtual vintage blues ??
in the beginning we hear the mxr micro chorus right?
how much does it weight?
very good demo!
What fretwire is on the EJ Stratocaster exactly ? thank you.
do you ship to europe?
I`ve seen one for sale with a bound neck. Any disadvantage?
I really like Mark's playing. The reviews he does are pretty decent but more than anything, I like swiping some of his ideas :)
Good stuff!
and we love it so soooo
no mention of the trem arm

Certainly sounds different to any strat I've heard before. But hey different is also v. good!
@ThornySoup I think thats because the 21 frets make the middle pickup closer to the 24 fret harmonic
7.25 lbs is what the one we have in stock weights. $1689.99 with hard case and free shipping with coupon code FENDER35.

They seem to average between 8 and 8.5 pounds.
Is that so so
how about just playing it through the amp without all the gizmos? let us hear it's TRUE sound!
tu si que eres so so
TRULY SKILLED GUITARIST.....But I feel the best use of his skills make for a rather uninteresting demo.
Eric Johnson strat+ A good valve fender amp with smooth drive= the eric clapton brownie sound of layla (my opinion)
Definitely nothing wrong with that!
Great guitar, but its not for everyone.
did he? oops sorry. Good player though, i give him that.
