I’ve had thoracic back pain for over 6 years when I first became pregnant and became a side sleeper. I’ve seen Physiotherapists, exercised, massaged and even tried antidepressants to try and ease the pain.
Now a simple sheet around my waist while I sleep has been an absolute game changer. THANK YOU!!! I’m now waiting for the McKenzie night Roll I’ve ordered to arrive.

I am a side sleeper with herniated discs and therefore severe (sometimes I can't even get out of bed) back pain. Your videos have been life changing and just absolutely wonderful for me, thank you so much for these videos!! I use a little flat pillow between my skinny legs and I find it also helps my knees, they're so knobby that without the pillow, it actually HURTS if my bony knees start rubbing together without that pillow in place!! :)

Thank you so much. I am in severe pain, can't walk more than 10 feet, from what I believe to be a stenosis (stabbing hip pain and pain on the left side of my calf, ankle and top of my foot), I haven't slept in days, I'm miserable. After watching this video, I placed a pillow under my waste/stomach area and was able to go to sleep for 3 hours!! You guys are wonderful. Your sense of humor and medical expertise turned me around. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You are a God send.

Hello Bob and Brad, I just had to take a moment and say thank you. After watching your video, I started using my adjustable base bed to sleep. with my shoulders flat and the foot portion raised up as high as it’ll go and a pillow underneath my thighs. It has helped tremendously I went without uninterrupted sleep for several consecutive months, and now I can sleep without the pain and without having to toss and turn. This was a real improvement in my quality of life. Thank you so much.

Bob & Brad, I need to tell you that sleeping on my back with the wedge pillow as you illustrated resolved about 95% of my back/butt/hamstring pain. I had been diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, AND piriformis syndrome, just to make things interesting. I had been walking half marathons for years, and then just couldn't do it anymore. I was sleeping on my side, including trying the pillow between legs, and would have excruciating pain if I got up in the middle of the night or upon rolling over. The first time I tried the wedge (which I learned about on one of your other videos), it was amazing. No pain. My physical therapist and I have been trying to figure out what made the difference--maybe my piriformis was compressing my sciatic nerve, or maybe my spine was sagging, as you note in this video. I have an appointment with my spine doc in a month or so and will see what he thinks might have caused the huge improvement. I still do have some tingling in my toes and am working on that!

I'm trying to the least invasive as possible.l

You guy's are incredible. I have been suffering with herniated disc and sciatica and in the worst pain I've ever experienced for the past 5 weeks. I had to stand for the first 4 weeks and have been sleeping on my stomach on a wedge position ever since sorta like the accidental McKenzie start off seems to help. The worst thing about experiencing sciatic pain is the night time when you have to get up from the pain lay on the yoga mat and do press ups and try not to slip into a depression. To all: In addition to excercises recommended in thus channel, I found that cutting off sugar and flour from diet diminished (80%) the pains at ‘waking up’, and to aid getting started in daily activities I sweep, gently, 1-2 rooms. Also, stopping food intake around 3-4 PM ‘cured’me completely from acid reflux! I’m an early riser, early to bed person and prefer to fast in the evenings
Truly hope this helps someone as it has helped me. My painful mornings are now history!

This is a great video; information AND entertaining! I have severe back pain. My chiropractor once told me that the most common cause of chronic back pain/problems is due to incorrect sleeping positions. What is your take on this issue? In fact, I can feel fine after easy yoga stretches and my back will be okay during the day. Yet I sleep in a twisted manner on my side and awake unable to even walk due to the pain.

I've been suffering from static pain for over a year now and for some reason I get the most relief frrom sleeping on my stomach with a pillow or 2 under my pelvic/hip/upper thigh areas. It varies from night to night but I wake up in less discomfort the following morning. Thank you for the info, I will have to try a few of the other positions.

I've watched 100+ videos on back pain, nerves, sciatica, stenosis, etc and ive concluded 2 major things...
    1. Sitting is not good
    2. When doing an exercise it should not hurt, it should feel better.
Thise seem universal for everything. Am i wrong? Please reply.

Hi!! your exercises are helping me a lot. I still feel some pain when sleeping on the side. I cannot sleep on my back (that hurts) sometimes I sleep on my belly with a pillow under my belly and one for my head and it feels great in my lumbar region but after a while it feels bad in my neck. However, wasn't it for the neck, that would definitely be the best position for me. I still have to sleep in that position at times since my sciatica kicks in at night. i don't know why it is worse at night than during the day.

This video was fantastic about using anti-inflammatory medications, such as Eleve, Ibuprofen and Tylenol. It clarified differences in each anti-inflammatory medicine, including side effects. I suffer deliberating, uncontrollable pain from lower lumbar. I will consult my doctor about using ibuprofen I subscibed to your videos because you offer excellent information on sacrum joint pain, exercises. Looking forward to continue watching your valuable, informative videos. Enjoy the humor you add to your video's. I am being assessed for sacrum S1 Joint pain. Your video's have been terrific, regarding exercises, using pillows appropriately while sleeping, etc.

"Everlasting Comfort 100% Pure Memory Foam Luxury Seat Cushion, "Lifetime Replacement Guarantee", Orthopedic Design to Relieve Back, Sciatica and Tailbone Pain, Slip-Proof Grip"
I could not believe how well it worked. So well I bought a second one for the office.

l lay on my stomach when my sciatica is bad over my tightly rolled up duvet, front ways obviously, to take the pressure of of the nerves. Both play up as I have had 3 operations for spinal stenosis which have now been put in the loose category of failed back surgery syndrome. I have a very severe herniated disk where the disk is split and there is nothing anyone can do for it, so trying to live with it is difficult. I'm glad I found this video because I now know why my sciatica plays up at night now and it just isn't in my mind. I thought it was me that brought it on. I'm glad to know that there is a medical reason for it, or a physical reason for it. I also now have osteophytes at several levels in my spine and my thoracic spine discs are drying out , bulging and I have loss of lordosis what ever that is. So I will keep tuned to this chanel for more info. Thanks

Stefan Ivezic Hopefully everything turns out to be an "easy" fix. Pain and discomfort interferring on a daily basis is not fun as you been through things and already know. Im not a doctor but I have to mention that here and im not telling you to do this (sorry again must say it because some people in general can take it the wrong way) but maybe do some exercises that physical therapists recommend for that type of pain. Or if there is a good sitting or sleeping position and maybe move around if you can throughout the day to relief some pressure on the back. Sometimes otc like tylenol may help. I find that works or doesnt work for me may work for others. Im sure you know all this already its just I know the pain or similiar pain of what youre feeling and it freaking sucks!
