I also happen to have a fuji x-s20 and i bought this lens. It's small enough that the camera can fit in my coat pocket. For evening events like car meets, it really shines: letting headlights flare into the camera in a soft pattern, combined with classic negative and warm white balance is certainly a vibe. The heavy vignetting is pleasant in daylight too, making it quite versatile for different film recipes. My only complaint is the 39mm filter thread: many filters have thin mounting rings and the specific uv filter i got couldn't hold the lens cap (the lens hood doesnt hold it very secure either). When you have the filter or hood on, it looks dumb; i would rather have a step up ring so i can use 52mm filters and a thicker cap.
I gotta say, the TTArtisan 27mm/f2.8 is one of the best purchases I've made. It's smaller than the 1650 kit lens, which is crazy. The fact that it's so light makes it so easy to carry around. The images are really something special. They're sharp and have this beautiful, rich color palette. The slight vignetting and swirl add an artistic touch. The autofocus is smooth and reliable. And the aperture ring? It gives a great tactile feel. It's an all-round great lens.
I'm a big fan of companies like TTArtisan, 7Artisan etc. For what they cost they are unbelievable value and you can get some fantastic results with their lenses. Certainly, not everyone can afford top of the line glass and as with the 27mm, it offers a fatastic budget friendly option. Unless someone is a high end pro or lens snob, they can't complain with a lens like this. Nice review as always.
thanks for the video! 💙 I bought this lens, to keep my Fujifilm X-T3 small and easy as an „always-in-my-bag-camera”. I expected not much and I am surprised about the results. I made some really great portrait shoots with this lens. For me, a fun lens to use on the street.
I like this lens very much for its form factor, very affordable and can get usable shots... now, I hate that it got stuck on my camera... it releases with the button but it just turns a little and it doesn't come off, something probably broke in the aperture ring.
Just picked up the Sony version, brand new on ebay for $95! Made a low offer and to my surprise, they accepted. Going to use it on my FF. Some say the vignetting is better on FF because of the sensor cropping. We shall see.
As someone looking to have their digital photos/videos look a bit softer and more filmic, this was very helpful! Thanks!
you're welcome
Thanks for the great review! No BS, Pros, Cons and use cases, very helpful.
wow, Pav those outdoor talking head scenes colour look really nice! Yes it's a nice little lens!

The only problem I have with them is just some of the weird decisions and lack of creature comforts. Also lack of autofocus on most of their lineup.

nice one!
Yeah I'm buying this for a Japan trip. Hopefully I can get some cool black and white shots of old stuff
nice!
I just ordered this lens for my Fuji x-m5. I think it will be perfect for that camera body
this lens will never be perfect 😉 but it will look good on X-M5

don't expect too much and you'll love it
@PavSZ I had it before on my Fuji and liked it. Interested to see how it will perform on my 42mp Sony ff.
The dock only works with Windows :-(
interesting. I had no reason to plug it to my mac to check it yet
Please think twice before updating the firmware. My update broke the lens for Alpha 6300, had to return it.
